Chapter 679: Chapter 679 Handling (4)_1

He had long considered Glades Horne the most formidable rival he’d encountered in his thirty-seven years.

"Contact Hansen Ruiz for me. If we can win him over, I will definitely be able to overpower Glades Horne." Noah Reyes particularly admired Hansen Ruiz; he liked people who always struck with a smile. He had once considered approaching Hansen’s wife, Rachel Bailey, but abandoned the plan when someone else got there first.

Deon Myers’s face fell; the boss had thrown him another monumental challenge.

Hansen Ruiz and Glades Horne not only shared a superior-subordinate relationship but were also friends as firm as iron. Their wives were close friends too. Winning over Hansen Ruiz would be more difficult than ascending to the heavens. It was said that, aside from Glades Horne, no one could truly ’tame’ him, earning Hansen the secretive nickname ’the white-eyed wolf’.

As for finding that person... He already had too much on his plate. Would the boss still entrust him with finding that person?

"Continue!" When it came to finding the person, Noah Reyes’s expression softened in an instant, causing Deon Myers to wonder if his eyes were deceiving him—his usually cool-headed boss could switch from stormy to sunny in an instant.

The Range Rover pulled into Valence Group, stopping in front of the Valence Group Office Building.

Hansen Ruiz emerged from the car and strode inside. Today, he wasn’t wearing a suit, just a short-sleeved white shirt and black trousers. The black and white contrast made him look sharp and distinguished.

Approaching forty, he exuded an even greater sense of stability and maturity. His handsome, well-featured face showed no trace of time’s passage. In the eyes of the Valence Group employees, their Assistant to the CEO seemed like Avalokitesvara, eternally eighteen and never aging.

As a husband and father, he always carried an aura of happiness, making employees feel that marriage truly was wonderful. See how their ’smiling tiger’ Assistant to the CEO had been mellowed into a devoted family man.

"Assistant Ruiz."

"Hello, Assistant Ruiz."

From the moment he got out of the car and walked in, everyone who saw him greeted him with a smile.

Hansen Ruiz smiled back at each of them.

After passing through the Reception Hall, he entered the CEO’s private elevator and went straight up to the sixty-eighth floor.

"Assistant Ruiz, the CEO is not in."

Hansen Ruiz had just stepped out of the elevator when Young Yang immediately stood and politely informed him.

"Not in?" Hansen Ruiz paused, then took out his mobile phone to call Glades Horne. Glades was currently at the Police Station with Benjamin Robinson, reviewing the surveillance footage from the gourmet sweet dumpling shop. When Hansen called, Glades mentioned he was still busy and asked Hansen what was up.

Hansen Ruiz inquired about Julia’s situation and asked if Glades needed his help.

Usually, whatever the issue, Glades Horne would call him immediately.

This time, with Julia’s shop having problems, Glades Horne hadn’t called him.

He also knew Glades had an impressive network. With numerous influential and loyal friends, uncovering the problem wouldn’t be difficult.

Glades Horne declined his offer of help, saying he could investigate it himself.

When it concerned Julia, Glades still hoped to help his beloved wife using his own abilities.

Since Glades Horne didn’t need his help, Hansen Ruiz didn’t insist. He turned around and re-entered the elevator, preparing to leave the company.

Everyone was accustomed to his hurried arrivals and departures.

The current CEO and Assistant to the CEO were, in fact, more diligent than before. At least, the phenomenon of them coming to the company only once every six months no longer occurred.

Hansen Ruiz drove out of Valence Group, naturally heading home. The weather was good today, so he planned to take Rachel for a drive.

He had only driven a short distance when he sensed something was wrong—someone was tailing him.

Just as he was about to shake them off, two cars ahead cut off his path. He immediately tried to reverse, but the two cars tailing him swiftly moved up, blocking his retreat.

Calmly gripping the steering wheel, he stopped the car. A faint smile touched Hansen Ruiz’s lips. He was curious to see what they were up to.

A man of average height, somewhat overweight but with a seemingly gentle demeanor, approached Hansen Ruiz’s car window. He bent over and knocked, speaking to the composed Hansen Ruiz inside, "Sorry to bother you, Mr. Ruiz. Our Assistant would like to meet you. Please come with us."

Hansen Ruiz tilted his head, a smile playing on his lips as he looked at the man. He then rolled down the window and said with a chuckle, "Your method of invitation is certainly unique. Lead the way."

The middle-aged man was somewhat surprised by Hansen Ruiz’s reaction and attitude. Anyone else cornered like this would be either panicking or furious. Yet, Hansen Ruiz was still smiling, as if he knew them well.

He didn’t realize, however, that Hansen Ruiz’s smile was a mask for his anger.

The middle-aged man didn’t move.

He was worried Hansen Ruiz wouldn’t obediently follow them; he wanted Hansen Ruiz to ride in the same car with him.

"My time is very precious, every minute like gold. If you’ve forgotten the way back to your own homes, then step aside and let someone who *does* know their way pass," Hansen Ruiz said, his smile as gentle as a spring breeze, though his eyes held a hint of mockery as he looked at the man.

These people are definitely Noah Reyes’s men.

Besides Noah Reyes, who else would dare to intercept him, Hansen Ruiz?

He was interested to see what tricks Noah Reyes had up his sleeve this time.

Months ago, he and Glades Horne had personally gone to the Nameless Manor on the outskirts, hoping to meet Noah Reyes. However, Noah Reyes had been arrogant and discourteous, not only refusing to see them but even having machine guns aimed and fired at Glades Horne.

Now he wants to see me? Could it be he’s trying to recruit me?

Hansen Ruiz had been with Valence Group for many years and knew its internal workings like the back of his hand. If Noah Reyes could win him over, dealing with Valence Group would become much easier for him. Only...

The smile on Hansen Ruiz’s lips deepened.

In his lifetime, Hansen Ruiz only truly respected Glades Horne. Moreover, he and Glades were close friends, and they might even become in-laws in the future. To expect him to betray his future in-laws? That would only happen if the sky fell and the earth merged anew.

"Mr. Ruiz, please get out of your car and sit in ours," the man said, still maintaining a polite demeanor.

Hansen Ruiz glanced at the two cars behind him in the rearview mirror and chuckled. "Your cars are a bit too low-grade; they don’t suit my status. I still prefer my Range Rover. You lead the way. I’d also like to pay a visit to your Assistant." Noah Reyes wasn’t showing his face; the one handling matters was that damn Assistant of his, a tall Englishman. Silvia Baxter was hidden within the Black Emperor Group as a manager, taking orders from that Englishman.

The man stared at Hansen Ruiz for a couple of moments, considered, then turned and returned to his car. He instructed the two cars in front to turn around and lead. The four vehicles, in a formation that seemed to constrain him, escorted Hansen Ruiz out of the City District and into the suburbs, heading towards the Nameless Manor.

Deon Myers sat in the Reception Hall, waiting for his subordinates to bring Hansen Ruiz.

Noah Reyes had vanished without a trace, and no one knew which corner he was hiding in now.
