Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 738 - 737: Dragon and Phoenix Meat (4)_1
「Nameless Manor.」
「In the dining room.」
Only three people sat at the long dining table: one adult and two children.
The table was laden with delicious food, a mix of Chinese and Western dishes.
Jimmy glared at Noah Reyes, his dark eyes full of resentment. "Pervert Uncle, where is the dragon and phoenix meat?" he demanded.
Ever since he saw Noah Reyes taking advantage of his mommy, he always spoke to Noah Reyes with annoyance.
Because deep down, he actually liked Noah Reyes. Even though Noah Reyes had taken advantage of his mommy, he just couldn't bring himself to truly dislike the man.
Maybe it was because the two of them looked so alike.
Noah Reyes's face twitched slightly, but he tried to speak to his son gently. "Billy, Daddy is not a pervert."
"You're not my Daddy!" Jimmy retorted with even more irritation.
He had said it countless times, yet this uncle still called himself Daddy. Was he really his Daddy or not?
Jimmy decided that when he got home, he would definitely ask his elder maternal uncle or his wife, the aunt. He had a feeling they knew who his daddy was. He wouldn't ask Mommy because he didn't want to see her sad; every time the subject of his daddy came up, Mommy would become unhappy.
Noah Reyes looked deeply into his son's eyes, a flicker of pain in their depths. He quickly concealed it and pushed a plate of snake meat in front of his son, smiling lightly. "Here is the dragon meat."
Ivan and Jimmy glanced at each other. Their little heads immediately drew close to meticulously examine the plate of snake meat. Then, they looked at each other again, and Ivan spoke up, "This meat... it's kind of like... well, you know, that other meat. Anyway, it's definitely not dragon meat."
Noah Reyes still smiled faintly as he answered, "This is snake meat."
"Snake meat? Then why did you say it was dragon meat? You're a liar!" Ivan shouted.
"Yeah, a liar!" Jimmy chimed in.
Noah Reyes chuckled. These two little rascals were smart, but no matter how clever, they were still just four-year-old children. They were far from being his match. He picked up a piece of snake meat and put it into Jimmy's bowl, then another piece into Ivan's bowl, chuckling. "The snake is the dragon's previous life."
"Huh?"
The brothers exchanged glances.
The snake is the dragon's previous life?
Their current knowledge wasn't enough to refute Noah Reyes's claim, so they could only stare blankly at the snake meat.
After a moment, Jimmy finally asked reluctantly, "Then where's the phoenix meat?"
Noah Reyes's smile grew even wider. He had never laughed as heartily as he did at this moment.
He pushed a large plate of white-cut chicken in front of the two children, saying with a smile, "This is the phoenix meat."
The brothers' eyes widened.
Chicken meat is phoenix meat? Does he really think we're three-year-olds?
But this time, the brothers didn't question him. They just stared at Noah Reyes with their big, dark, round eyes, waiting for him to spin more tales.
"This is a rooster. Like the phoenix, it has a beautiful appearance, so they're family. That makes it phoenix meat." Noah Reyes never knew he could be so good at making things up.
"Uncle, in that case, is your meat monkey meat?" Ivan asked innocently, indirectly accusing Noah Reyes of talking nonsense.
"I think Uncle's meat is ape meat. Monkeys are only distant relatives, but apes are close relatives," Jimmy also said with wide-eyed innocence.
Noah Reyes broke out in a cold sweat.
These two little devils were so young! Not only were their refutation skills strong, but their knowledge also far surpassed that of an average kindergartener.
Seeing Noah Reyes's astonished expression, the brothers exchanged another glance, a crafty glimmer flashing briefly in their eyes.
Noah Reyes gave a dry chuckle. "Alright, come on, let's eat," he said, beckoning the brothers to their food.
Ivan picked up his soup spoon and started with the soup. Jimmy, who preferred steak, grabbed a knife and fork and dug in.
Noah Reyes quietly watched them eat.
As long as they were willing to eat, he was content.
He didn't pay much attention to what Ivan ate, but he carefully noted everything Jimmy ate, thinking to himself, "So, my son likes these dishes."
Soon, the brothers had eaten and drunk their fill.
"How was it?" Noah Reyes asked.
"Mediocre," Ivan replied.
"Barely palatable. It won't kill anyone," Jimmy answered.
Such insulting brats! Noah Reyes grumbled internally.
They'd eaten their fill, yet they called it mediocre and barely palatable, claiming it wouldn't kill anyone. This was food prepared by a Five-Star Hotel chef, and they dismissed it as worthless! If the chef had been there to hear their critique, he would have been furious enough to cough up blood.
The brothers hopped down from their stools and began to wander around the dining room.
Noah Reyes didn't know what they were up to. He assumed they were just exploring his small dining room, so he watched them with a gentle smile, his gaze mostly following his son's small figure.
Deon Myers came in. Seeing that the three of them had finished eating, he ordered his men to start clearing the table.
"Jimmy, let's play cat and mouse, okay?" Ivan suddenly said to Jimmy, blinking his big eyes.
"Sure!" Jimmy immediately agreed.
And so, the two of them started a game of chase in the dining room, which was neither particularly large nor especially small.
Seeing the children playing happily, Noah Reyes's smile softened even more, his eyes filled with a deep longing. What he yearned for was a family reunion, to be able to watch his children laugh and cry.
Their game of chase quickly became an ordeal for the men in black who were trying to clear the tables. The two boys kept darting around, making it easy to collide with the staff. The men had to be extremely careful to avoid them, not wanting to drop the plates and dishes they were carrying.
CRASH!
CLANG!
The sound of dishes shattering on the floor echoed, one after another.
The brothers seemed to be doing it deliberately. The more careful the men in black were, the more the boys ran into them, knocking plates and bowls to the ground. Uneaten food spilled everywhere.
"Oh, Young Masters, please stop this mischief!" Deon Myers exclaimed, his head starting to throb as he took in the scene.
In moments, the entire dining room was a complete mess. The floor was covered with food and slick with grease. Chairs and other furnishings had been intentionally pushed around and knocked askew by the brothers, adding to the chaos.
"Tee-hee, Billy, come chase me!" Ivan shouted, seeing that they had caused enough destruction. He immediately darted outside, with Jimmy hot on his heels.
Deon Myers ordered his men to clean up immediately. He then approached Noah Reyes, who still had a smile on his face, and asked cautiously, "Master, about this...?"
Noah Reyes just smiled and waved his hand. "It's nothing. As long as your young masters are happy, that's all that matters."
He paid no mind to the utter chaos in the room, stood up, and walked towards the exit. Hearing footsteps heading upstairs, he followed them.
