Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 748 - 747 Prank (1)_1
"Adele is my classmate!"
Gio Coleman regained his composure and stepped out of the oppressive encirclement.
"What classmate?" Noah Reyes demanded coldly.
Classmates? That means they've known each other for at least a year, Noah thought. Doesn't that give him an advantage over me?
Gio Coleman shot him an amused glance and countered, "How many kinds of classmates do you think there are? A classmate is a classmate. Are there really different types to distinguish?" 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"No matter what kind of classmate you are, stay away from my woman."
"Sorry, but I intend for Adele and me to go from being classmates to husband and wife!"
"What did you say! If you have any guts, say that again!" Noah Reyes growled, his voice laced with a chilling menace.
Gio Coleman smiled faintly, paying no heed to Noah Reyes's menacing expression, much less feeling intimidated. The flowers had been mercilessly crushed by Noah Reyes's car—what a pity; they had been so delicate.
It seems my rival has no inclination to cherish the fairer sex, Gio mused. Crushing such delicate flowers.
"I could say it a hundred times, and it would still be the same: I like Adele. I returned from abroad specifically to pursue her, and I want us to go from being classmates to husband and wife," Gio Coleman said, looking directly at Noah Reyes and enunciating each word with deliberate clarity.
"You dare!" Noah Reyes narrowed his eyes dangerously.
Holding his gaze, Gio Coleman's eyes showed disapproval. He then said coolly, "I'm single, Adele is unmarried. What wouldn't I dare? It's not like I'm stealing someone else's wife."
The resemblance between Noah Reyes and Jimmy Horne actually left Gio Coleman feeling deeply unsettled. When he first returned to the country, he'd heard about everything Adele had endured—that she'd become pregnant out of wedlock and had never known who the child's father was. He suspected Adele hadn't merely been deceived but had been... taken advantage of. He seethed with resentment for the man responsible for her getting pregnant out of wedlock. Although Adele had always struck him as a headstrong and unreasonable woman, during his years abroad, despite encountering countless beautiful women, none had moved his heart. He always found himself thinking of Adele, and it was then he realized she had carved out a special place within him.
Therefore, he had no favorable impression of Noah Reyes.
If Noah Reyes truly loved Adele—and judging by his expression now, he genuinely seemed to care for her—Gio couldn't understand it. If he cared, why had he allowed Adele to suffer so many years of hardship? Why let the clever and bright Jimmy Horne bear the stigma of being illegitimate? What kind of man, what kind of father, would willingly let his child carry such a label?
Noah Reyes stared venomously at Gio Coleman but didn't erupt in further anger. His rival's cool tone had a surprisingly calming effect. The more I rage, the more he'll have me where he wants me, Noah realized. I can't let him control this. I need to be the one in control.
Reaching out a long arm, Noah Reyes pressed the doorbell.
His silence surprised Gio Coleman. I expected him to fly into a rage, Gio thought, maybe even try to hit me with his car again. Instead, Noah merely pursed his lips and said nothing. Nevertheless, his gaze—sharp as a sword, cold as ice—was enough to send a shiver down Gio Coleman's spine.
Uncle Ying arrived quickly.
Seeing Noah Reyes and Gio Coleman, Uncle Ying's initially smiling face stiffened. He asked, somewhat displeased, "Why are you here again?" His question was directed at Noah Reyes.
Noah Reyes didn't answer, just fixed Uncle Ying with a heavy gaze.
Uncle Ying was slightly startled. This man's gaze is just like the Young Master's, he thought, exerting an irresistible pressure.
"Uncle Ying, hello. I've been here before. I'm Adele's classmate. When your two young masters were kidnapped, I was with Miss Adele," Gio Coleman said politely and respectfully.
During his one previous visit to the Horne Family estate, he had discreetly memorized the names of the key servants. Besides, as Adele's classmate, he naturally knew a fair amount about the Horne family members.
Uncle Ying immediately smiled at Gio Coleman. Beside them, a deeper shadow crossed Noah Reyes's eyes. However, he remained silent and made no other move, merely glaring arrogantly at Uncle Ying.
Uncle Ying opened the villa's main gate, originally intending to let only Gio Coleman inside. But the moment the gate was ajar, Noah Reyes slipped through like a phantom. Uncle Ying tried to block him, but Noah Reyes simply shoved him back against the other half of the gate. Before Uncle Ying could react, Noah had swiftly slammed the gate shut, barring Gio Coleman's entry.
"Hey! You're trespassing!" Gio Coleman shouted.
I knew it, Gio thought. This rival of mine has violent tendencies.
Uncle Ying also cried out, "Mr. Reyes, please leave, or I'll call the police!"
Before the words had even left Uncle Ying's mouth, Noah Reyes appeared before him like a whirlwind.
Uncle Ying was stunned. Gio Coleman was equally stunned.
Could anyone really move that fast? Lightning? A shooting star? Neither seemed as fast as him.
The tall figure loomed over Uncle Ying. His gaze, ghostly and ice-cold without a trace of warmth, fixed on Uncle Ying's face. A voice that seemed to emanate from the depths of a thousand-year-old glacier filled Uncle Ying's ears, "Even Glades Horne wouldn't stop me anymore. You? By what right? Call the police? Need me to dial 110 for you? If you want your Miss Adele and Young Master Jimmy to disappear from your sight forever, then go ahead and call the police!"
With that, Noah Reyes turned and strode purposefully into the villa.
Uncle Ying stood frozen to the spot.
He stared blankly as the figure walked toward the Main House with a forceful demeanor.
The Young Master isn't home, Uncle Ying despaired. Who can possibly restrain this devil?
Inside the house, apart from the old lady and Adele Horne, who had yet to awaken, everyone else was out.
Shaking himself back to his senses, Uncle Ying hurriedly ran into the house after him.
The old lady was sitting in the hall, looking drowsy.
Aunt Mei stood by her side, watching her with concern.
It was just past nine in the morning. The old lady had only just risen and eaten breakfast, yet she already appeared drowsy again.
Hearing heavy footsteps, Aunt Mei instinctively turned her head towards the entrance. She saw Noah Reyes stride in, his face a mask of dominance and arrogance, his aura practically screaming, "Whoever blocks me dies! Dies! Dies!"
The old lady was still squinting her aged eyes. Upon hearing the footsteps, she asked Aunt Mei faintly, "Who is it? Those footsteps are as heavy as Glades's, but they're not his. They sound quite menacing."
Noah Reyes, who had just strode in, instantly softened his steps upon hearing the old lady's words. He was filled with admiration for her keen hearing and accurate judgment.
"Madam, it's that Mr. Reyes," Aunt Mei said, glancing at Noah Reyes before informing the old lady.
That Reyes fellow again! Noah Reyes's face twitched. Ever since he'd found out that Adele Horne was the woman he was looking for and that he was Jimmy Horne's biological father, everyone in the Horne Family, from the masters down to the servants, had been incredibly rude to him. Did they think they had him all figured out?
"Oh?" The old lady turned her head, and Noah Reyes looked at her. The old lady beckoned to him, calling out, "Young man, come over here. Come keep an old woman like me company for a chat; I'm terribly bored."
