Prosperous Marriage: Married to My Brother-in-law-Chapter 750 - 749 Prank (3)_1
"Come over, sit down," the old lady commanded with a smile.
Adele had no choice but to walk over and sit down beside the old lady.
No sooner had she sat down than Noah Reyes's eyes seemed to stick to her like glue, his gaze fixed on her, intense and profound.
A bouquet of roses was presented to Adele.
"Adele, these flowers are for you," Gio Coleman said with a smile.
Noah Reyes's hand tightened.
Adele had originally not wanted to accept the roses, but upon seeing Noah Reyes's expression, she deliberately smiled and said, "Thank you, the flowers are beautiful, I like them." Then she took the bouquet.
Noah Reyes's face instantly darkened.
The old lady watched him intently, and he couldn't make any move.
"You should drink your tea," the old lady said again.
This time, Noah Reyes did not hesitate. He picked up the cup of tea, which was as bitter as Coptis, and downed it in one gulp.
Gio Coleman picked up his teacup, took a small sip, and immediately frowned inwardly. This tea is so bitter!
He only dared to try that one sip and didn't take a second. Placing the teacup back on the coffee table, he said, "This tea… not bad."
The old lady blinked, smiling. "Oh, is that so? Mr. Reyes, what do you think of the tea's flavor?"
"Coptis," Noah Reyes coldly spat out.
The old lady laughed heartily.
Noah Reyes still stared daggers at Adele Horne. His woman, accepting another man's roses right in front of him! Was it just a bunch of roses? Did she need to smile so brilliantly?
Pulling out his phone, he sent a message. Flowers! He could buy out all the flower shops, turn the Horne residence into a sea of flowers!
"Then eat something," the old lady called out again.
Noah Reyes looked at Adele Horne. He swept his hand fiercely over the coffee table, grabbing whatever he could and stuffing it into his mouth. He didn't care if it tasted good or bad; he just kept shoving food into his mouth. He even reached out his long arm to snatch items Gio Coleman had picked up and wanted to eat, taking them for himself.
As he stuffed his face, he watched Adele, an indescribable look in his eyes.
At first, Adele ignored him, but as he kept eating non-stop, she frowned. Wasn't he afraid of bursting?
He was eating like a pig! Such a glutton!
Half an hour later, Noah Reyes had wiped everything clean from the coffee table.
The old lady's laughter grew even louder. Gio Coleman looked as if he'd turned to stone, and Adele showed a hint of concern that even she didn't realize.
Noah Reyes had overeaten!
With so much food, it was no wonder he was stuffed.
Moreover, eating such a chaotic mix of things had upset his stomach.
Pain!
"How's the taste?" the old lady asked.
"Coptis!" Noah Reyes still spat out.
Just like his mood, bitter as Coptis.
He had explained everything to Adele, but the outcome wasn't as ideal as he had imagined. He was suffering in silence, unable to voice his bitterness; naturally, he felt as bitter as Coptis.
At that moment, Uncle Ying hurried in.
"Madam, many cars have arrived outside, bringing all sorts of flowers. They say Mr. Reyes is sending them to Miss Adele."
The old lady laughed heartily again.
Adele looked towards Noah Reyes.
Noah Reyes was suffering from severe stomach pain, his face turning somewhat green.
"Adele, someone has endured the bitterness of Coptis for you; you should take him to the hospital. Auntie Mei, is the sobering-up soup ready yet?"
Without waiting for Auntie Mei to serve the sobering-up soup, Adele had already stood up irritably. She strode to Noah Reyes and scolded him angrily, "What do you think your stomach is made of? You'll eat yourself to death! Your son would never do this…" Adele suddenly stopped speaking.
While Noah Reyes was in agonizing pain, her last words sent a rush of ecstasy through him. Adele spoke of *his* son! She herself had admitted that Billy was his son!
Glaring at him, Adele turned and walked away.
"Adele."
Gio Coleman and Noah Reyes both stood up.
Adele turned her head, first looking at Noah Reyes, then at Gio Coleman. She said to Gio Coleman indifferently, "Gio, I'm sorry, I have to go. I'll treat you to a meal another day." When she spoke to Noah Reyes, it was with a roar, "What are you dawdling for? Get moving, to the hospital! If something happens to you in my house, I can't take responsibility for it!"
Gio Coleman felt dejected.
Noah Reyes was overjoyed. No matter Adele's attitude, at least she wouldn't let him die!
His thoughts weren't far off; Adele did have him in her heart. Even if it was with hatred, he was still there.
Mrs. Alwin Ruiz had taken a serious fall, the most severe injury being to her waist.
She was hospitalized.
The doctor said she would have to stay in bed for at least a month.
Hansen Ruiz handled his mother's hospital admission procedures, while Rachel Bailey stayed by the bedside to look after Mrs. Alwin Ruiz, who was in too much pain to dare move.
When the hospital admission procedures were completed, Julia arrived with Camila Ruiz.
Ivan Horne and his brother, Jimmy Horne, naturally followed as well.
The stubbornly determined Florence Ford insisted on coming along.
Alwin Ruiz did not accompany them further. Instead, he ordered his men in black to drive his daughter, Florence, as she followed Jimmy Horne.
In the ward, Camila Ruiz looked at Mrs. Alwin Ruiz lying on the bed, her face full of deep concern. She sat on the edge of the bed, holding the hand that wasn't receiving an intravenous drip, consoling her, "Grandma, it doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt. You'll get better soon. Camila is here with you."
Mrs. Alwin Ruiz managed a smile, took Camila's small hand in hers, and said affectionately, "Grandma's good granddaughter. With you by my side, the pain really goes away."
Julia took Rachel to one side and asked in detail about Mrs. Alwin Ruiz's condition.
Glades Horne stood not too far away, his lips pursed, without speaking.
When Hansen Ruiz returned, Glades finally spoke a few words with him.
Jimmy Horne stood not far off, his dark eyes always lingering on Camila Ruiz.
Florence followed his gaze to Camila Ruiz. Seeing that Camila wasn't as pretty as she was, Florence felt a surge of superiority.
Mrs. Alwin Ruiz was to be hospitalized for a month, and Rachel Bailey personally took care of her. Even with doctors and nurses available, Rachel insisted on doing everything herself. She bathed Mrs. Alwin Ruiz daily and changed her into fresh clothes. During the first few days, when Mrs. Alwin Ruiz could barely get out of bed, Rachel attended to all her needs, including helping her with the bedpan. Rachel did all this without any complaint.
People aren't like grass or trees; they all have feelings.
Mrs. Alwin Ruiz saw all of this and was deeply moved.
Indeed, Rachel Bailey came from a rural background and might not have seemed a suitable match for the illustrious Ruiz Family. However, Mrs. Alwin Ruiz had sensed Rachel's devotion over the years, and especially so now. Rachel's tireless, considerate, and meticulous care prompted even the doctors and nurses to remark on what a good daughter-in-law Mrs. Alwin Ruiz had.
