Even though Jimmy Horne was always fighting and arguing with Camila Ruiz, they had become accustomed to each other. A day without seeing each other was hard to adapt to.

The little beauty, Florence Ford, clung to Jimmy Horne like a piece of sticky candy. Wherever Jimmy went, she followed, claiming it was the order of the family head to accompany him.

Florence was very pretty and adorable. Although she was energetic and tended to fight, striking hard when she did, her sweet words endeared her to the elders of the Horne Family.

Someone casually remarked that since Florence was so devoted to Jimmy Horne, she might as well move into the Horne Family home, so she could be with him all the time.

Florence was overjoyed and couldn't ask for more.

She had only known the young master for a brief month, but she already liked being with him. Although he was sometimes cold and sometimes warm to her, she relished the feeling, probably because it was exciting.

Being by the young master's side meant she could meet many other children; it was much freer and livelier than staying at the Manor.

No matter how sharp-witted or clever a person was, at the end of the day, she was still a child of just over four years old, with a heart preoccupied with play.

Jimmy Horne objected! He firmly opposed letting Florence Ford move into the Horne home.

The elders had been mostly joking, and with Jimmy himself objecting, the matter was dropped.

Years later, when she thought of this incident, Florence still felt a sting in her heart...

"Don't take the game too far," Glades said affectionately.

Julia looked at him and suggested, "Do you want to join in?"

Glades's eyes darkened as he spoke in a deep voice, "You want me to help Noah Reyes court my sister? I can't do that."

Julia smiled and didn't press him further. His watching over her, indulging her, letting her indirectly assist Noah Reyes was already quite rare. After all, deep down Glades still harbored anger and resentment towards Noah Reyes for his past arrogance and the dreadful way he had held a machine gun on him. The proud heir of the Horne Family, like a prince on a cloud in T City, had been sprayed with bullets by a rival. Only someone who had experienced it personally could understand the depth of his resentment.

Noah Reyes's car shot toward the Office Building like a rocket, screeching to a stop right outside the Administrative Department's windows. This drew the gazes of everyone inside the department, all wondering the same things: Has Mr. Reyes made a breakthrough today? Has Assistant Horne willingly let him into the company?

"Mr. Reyes, you've arrived?" the receptionist greeted him with a sweet smile, her beautiful face exuding warmth, swaying towards Noah Reyes as though she were a madam welcoming clients.

Noah Reyes didn't respond; his handsome face was as cold and expressionless as marble.

He had a strong dislike for several of Valence's receptionists. Every time they saw him, they stared with predatory eyes, their gazes oozing undisguised seduction.

They knew he was there for Assistant Horne, yet they dared to show their attraction and enticement towards him.

If it were his company, he'd immediately send those receptionists packing back home.

Actually, one couldn't really blame the receptionists. After all, which young girl wouldn't be moved upon seeing a tall, rich, and handsome man? Glades was CEO Julia's husband, and he doted on her alone. Still, the others secretly dreamed of him in their hearts.

Noah Reyes headed towards the elevator.

"Hey, Mr. Reyes, you can't go up there. Assistant Horne doesn't want to see you," the two receptionists quickly intercepted Noah Reyes, their smiles growing even sweeter, their pretty faces practically emblazoned with the words: 'We're delighted to see you.'

"Let Mr. Reyes go up," a crisp voice with an undertone of subtle authority cut in. Julia Bluen appeared before them, walking side by side with Glades Horne, who was holding an umbrella.

Glades was dressed in his usual black suit and black leather shoes, always giving off the vibe of a dark horse emerging from nowhere.

Glades, having not shaved for two days, looked even more masculine and more attractive to women.

He elegantly folded his umbrella.

"Good morning, CEO Julia, Mr. Horne."

The receptionists still wore sweet smiles on their faces, but their flirtatious demeanor towards Noah Reyes vanished.

CEO Julia was truly protective of her sister-in-law. To attempt anything with Mr. Reyes in her presence would likely result in a very unpleasant outcome.

Nonetheless, behind it all, they still feared the formidable Valence Group, and Glades Horne, the affectionate husband in control of it.

Seeing Glades put away the umbrella, one of the receptionists quickly stepped forward to take it from him, placing it in the umbrella stand before returning to her post.

Glades's sharp eyes glanced at the two receptionists before he said coldly to Julia, "Julia, make a change."

Noah Reyes stepped into the elevator. Hearing Glades's short but forceful words, he couldn't help but think that this brother-in-law was indeed as unpredictable, decisive, and ruthless as rumored.

With Glades's perceptiveness, he had surely caught the unspoken intentions the receptionists hadn't managed to conceal. Therefore, he decisively requested his beloved wife to make a change, denying the two receptionists even a chance to redeem themselves.

The faces of the two receptionists turned deathly pale.

Julia glanced at them but said nothing.

This made the two receptionists even more uneasy, uncertain of what Julia's decision would be.

The couple chose to take the stairs, slowing down their ascent to allow Noah Reyes some alone time with Adele Horne.

"Julia," Glades called out in a deep voice.

Julia remained silent.

Glades said no more.

「The Assistant's office.」

"Who let you in!" Adele sprang to her feet, taken aback by Noah Reyes's entrance into her office, and roared at him.

She had been working on her temper. But the moment she saw Noah Reyes, she reverted to her old bad habits. She wanted only to explode, wishing she could blow him to smithereens so he would never appear before her again.

Noah Reyes turned around and locked the office door, preventing anyone outside from entering.

As Adele saw him lock the door, her anger soared. She charged from behind her desk toward Noah Reyes, grabbing his sleeve and commanding, "Get out!"

"Ah..." Before her voice even faded, Noah Reyes turned and pushed her against the door, pinning her so she couldn't move.

"Noah Reyes, let go of me, right now, this instant!" Adele struggled fiercely, pushing against him and loudly warning him.
