Pseudoragori : Milking The Cafe With My Minotaur Wife-Chapter 15: Protection
Chapter 15: Protection
It was a quiet evening at home, and Mani was seated at the dining table, a stack of documents and a calculator spread out in front of him. He sighed as he went through their taxes, the tedious task taking far longer than he had anticipated.
Mocha sat nearby, casually reading a book with her legs crossed. Her floppy ears twitched occasionally as she glanced at Mani. "You've been at that for hours, honey," she said with a teasing smile. "Need a break?"
Mani chuckled softly. "I wish, but I'm almost done. Just need to double-check a few things."
Mocha grinned, her tail swishing lazily. "Alright, but don't overwork yourself. I want my husband in one piece."
Before Mani could reply, the sound of breaking glass shattered the peaceful atmosphere. Both of them froze, their ears picking up the unmistakable noise of footsteps entering the house.
"What the—" Mani began, but before he could finish, three masked men burst into the room.
"Hands up!" one of them barked, pointing a gun directly at Mani.
Mani's breath hitched, his hands instinctively rising in surrender. "What... what do you want?" he stammered.
"Money," the man growled, his gun unwavering. "And anything valuable. Now!"
Mocha stood slowly, her towering frame casting a shadow over the intruders. Her red eyes glinted dangerously as she positioned herself between Mani and the men.
"Step away from him," she said, her voice low and filled with menace.
The robbers hesitated, their eyes darting to Mocha. One of them sneered. "What are you gonna do, cowgirl? Get out of the way, or you'll regret it."
Mocha's lips curled into a smirk, her tail flicking behind her. "Oh, honey, you have no idea who you're messing with."
The man with the gun aimed it at her. "Last warning, lady. Move, or I'll shoot."
"Try it," Mocha said, crossing her arms.
The robber didn't hesitate. He pulled the trigger, the loud crack of the gunshot echoing through the room. Mani flinched, his heart pounding in terror—until he saw what happened next.
The bullet struck Mocha squarely in the chest but didn't even leave a mark. It bounced harmlessly off her skin, clattering to the floor.
"What the hell?!" the robber shouted, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Mocha chuckled, taking a step forward. "I warned you," she said, her voice calm but laced with danger.
The man fired again and again, but each shot had the same result. The bullets simply ricocheted off her, unable to penetrate her tough, minotaur skin.
"Is that all you've got?" Mocha asked, tilting her head mockingly.
One of the other robbers charged at her with a crowbar, but Mocha caught it effortlessly, snapping it in half with her bare hands.
"Big mistake," she muttered, grabbing the man by the collar and lifting him off the ground like he weighed nothing. She tossed him across the room, and he landed with a thud, groaning in pain.
The remaining two robbers hesitated, clearly rethinking their choices. But before they could make a move, Mocha lunged forward, her movements swift and precise. She grabbed the man with the gun, disarming him in an instant before delivering a punch that sent him sprawling to the floor.
The last robber tried to run, but Mocha was faster. She grabbed him by the back of his shirt, pulling him back and pinning him against the wall. "You came into the wrong house," she growled, her red eyes blazing.
"W-we're sorry!" the man stammered, his voice trembling. "We didn't know—"
"Damn right you didn't know," Mocha interrupted, her voice icy. "Now get out of here before I change my mind about letting you go."
She released him, and the man scrambled to his feet, dragging his injured companions out the door as fast as they could manage.
As the house fell silent, Mani let out a shaky breath, his heart still racing. "Mocha... you... that was incredible."

She turned to him, her expression softening. "Are you okay, honey? They didn't hurt you, did they?"
Mani shook his head, standing and walking over to her. "No, thanks to you. You were amazing."
Mocha smiled, pulling him into a tight hug. "I told you I'd always protect you," she said, her voice gentle.
Mani leaned into her embrace, his arms wrapping around her waist. "I don't know what I'd do without you."
"You'll never have to find out," Mocha replied, kissing the top of his head.
As they sat back down together, the adrenaline slowly fading, Mani couldn't help but marvel at her strength—not just her physical power, but her unwavering love and determination to keep him safe.
Together, they knew they could face anything that came their way.
