Chapter 613: Chapter 212 Feidan Hall_1

At this moment, he had his answer. Below the Earthly Immortal Realm was... another world!

The Earthly Immortal Realm and the world before his eyes were like the two sides of a biscuit.

Above was the Earthly Immortal Realm, and below it lay another world, a world even more shattered in comparison!

Oceans dominated the majority of the land, surrounded by islands and towering mountains that broke through the sea’s surface. Some islands were even capsized and lying sideways in the water... The reason he could tell they were on their sides was because of some gigantic buildings on the islands. Although in ruins, they still exuded their former grandeur. They stood on the islands but fell into the sea, hence Qin Shou surmised that the entire island, or perhaps an entire continent, had flipped over...

This world seemed to have been destroyed by some force, leaving nothing but ruins.

However, a new ecosystem had already begun to evolve amidst the ruins, with lush vegetation on the larger islands, a swath of verdant green... it was just unknown whether there were any animals living there.

Qin Shou glanced around again. There were still many celestial bodies, but unlike those vibrant and bright stars above the Earthly Immortal Realm, these stars were like withered seeds, devoid of any vitality. Observing them, Qin Shou felt an unusual familiarity; it was similar to the feeling on the moon. They existed, but due to the lack of Yuan Qi, they lacked the liveliness that stars should have.

"Stop looking, let’s go," said the Golden Toad at that moment, directly leading Qin Shou once again to step out of the Teleportation Array.

Shortly after, there was a flash before his eyes.

Almost instinctively, Qin Shou looked up, wanting to catch another glimpse of that fragmented world. But now, all that remained was a night sky with dimly lit stars that were nearly invisible! The sky was black, indicating it was night, and yet the night sky lacked a moon. There were only those few faint stars twinkling...

"I, Cao... is this really beneath the Earthly Immortal Realm?" Qin Shou asked subconsciously.

Golden Toad looked up at the sky and said, "People on a planet, no matter which direction they’re standing, always think they’re on top. We’re also on top here; it’s just been shattered."

After speaking, the Golden Toad, carrying the rabbit, followed the Mountain Spider and Guiche towards the largest continent in sight. Though not as vast as the major continents, this continent too boasted continuous, majestic mountain ranges.

There were nineteen huge palaces built upon it, with the one at the very back soaring the highest. However, that palace didn’t seem like it was meant for living, but rather like a gigantic altar.

The other eighteen palaces, like guards, encircled and protected the altar in the center.

They had arrived outside the very first grand palace.

Though they were outside the grand palace, there were cities clustered around it. In these cities lived many people, and Qin Shou saw at a glance numerous inhabitants from the planets he had encountered on his journey.

Everyone bowed their heads and paid their respects upon seeing the Mountain Spider and the others, indicating that these few had quite the reputation and high status here.

Qin Shou eavesdropped with a tilted ear for a while as he walked, indeed picking up a few things.

"See that? Those are the famed Deity Generals of the Immortal Realm—Guiche, the golden-armored guard, and Zhushan."

"So those are Deity Generals? It’s my first time seeing them up close. But why did they catch a rabbit?"

"Don’t know, maybe they were coming back from a hunting expedition..."

"Three Deity Generals teamed up to capture just a rabbit?"

"Uh... maybe."

...

Having heard this, Qin Shou rolled his eyes at those people, then turned to Mountain Spider and the others and said, "Did you hear that? You’ve been scorned. Three of you and you only caught a rabbit. Isn’t that embarrassing?"

The Mountain Spider glanced at Qin Shou and said indifferently, "Only your human race cares about face. We in the Demon Clan don’t care about that."

Qin Shou sneered, "You’re kidding me, right? If you don’t care about face, why do you deceive those fools into thinking this place is the Immortal Realm?"

With righteous indignation, the Mountain Spider claimed, "This is the Immortal Realm!"

Qin Shou rolled his eyes and said, "I ain’t no fool; I’ve seen the Immortal Realm before. Who are you trying to fool?"

At this point, the Golden Toad chimed in, "Rabbit, let me ask you, what is the Immortal Realm?"

Qin Shou replied as if it were obvious, "It’s where the Immortals live."

The Golden Toad said, "Then there’s no mistake. In the past, this place was where the Immortals lived. Where you are now was the Xuanhuang Continent of ancient times, just that it was later shattered. The Heavenly Court collapsed, almost annihilating all things, and the Heavenly Dao broke, unfit for cultivation or life to thrive. Later, everyone moved to the back of the Xuanhuang Continent, which is what you call the Earthly Immortal Realm. Then the Saint opened up the level thirty-three, and only then you had what you call the Immortal Realm. By this logic, calling this place the Immortal Realm isn’t too far off, right?"

Qin Shou was speechless... and then exclaimed, "This is the Xuanhuang Continent? The very place where the Demon Clan’s Heavenly Court was located in ancient times?"

Qin Shou had always thought that the Xuanhuang Continent and the Earthly Immortal Realm were just different names for the same piece of land in different eras. Only now did he realize that they were actually not the same place.

Then Qin Shou immediately realized a problem, "Weren’t you all supposed to be dead? How come you are alive again?"

The Golden Toad was about to say something when Guiche suddenly turned his head and warned, "Hold your tongue!"

Undeterred, the Golden Toad said, "He won’t live much longer anyway; there’s no harm in telling him."

Guiche thought about it and decided the Golden Toad had a point, so he explained, "True Spirits never die, and thus we never truly died. The Demon Emperor had a contingency in place, and we were resurrected long ago, just waiting for the right moment. Rabbit, everything you wanted to know and didn’t want to know, you now know. You can rest in peace."

Qin Shou grimaced and retorted, "Would you be able to rest in peace if it were you?"

Ignoring Qin Shou, Guiche hastened his steps, walking up to the gates of the first grand hall.

Qin Shou glanced at the plaque above the hall’s doors that read, "Feidan Hall!"

He instinctively asked, "What is this place for?"

Guiche replied with a sinister smile, "Guess? You’ll find out once you’re inside."

Right at that moment, the grand hall’s doors opened.

Guiche said, "Let’s go. You ate something you shouldn’t have, and now you must pay the price. That’s karma. The Heavenly Dao’s cycle of reincarnation, for every cause there must be an effect. Throughout the countless ages of this world, who has the Heavenly Dao ever spared?"

As soon as these words were spoken, two loud voices came from inside the hall.

"What’s this crappy thing? It tastes so bitter, not even close to as good as the rabbit’s cooking!"

"Big brother is right!"

"Let’s go, we’re not playing here anymore! We’re heading to the Soldier King Pavilion, the guys there are much more fun!"

"Big brother is right!"

Upon hearing this, Qin Shou was stunned; why did these voices sound so familiar? When he heard "Big brother is right" for the second time, his eyes suddenly lit up, and he immediately shouted, "Big Fool, Second Fool?!"
