Chapter 30 - 29: Luxury and Comfort

We settled in quickly, and as I stepped into my room, I realized it was about the size of our entire former apartment—maybe even bigger.

I couldn't help but marvel at the place. This is insane. It felt surreal, like something out of a dream, yet here we were, actually living in it.

Jason and Luna were just as astonished. Jason whistled as he glanced around, while Luna ran her fingers along the polished surfaces, clearly impressed.

Turning back to Sam, who was still standing at the door, I asked, How rich is the guild leader? This place is way beyond top-notch. I don't even know how we'll pay this back.

Sam just smiled. Don't worry. You'll repay us with your efforts. So don't let us down.

I nodded, still overwhelmed by everything. But something gnawed at the back of my mind. How could the guild afford all of this? And why would they go this far for us? It was a little unsettling how easy it felt to step into a place like this.

Then his expression turned serious. I know this is sudden, but the tournament finals are in six days. Why don't we head to the office? I'll explain how dungeons work, and you can try one. It'll help you be better prepared for the finals.

Jason and I exchanged glances before nodding. "Sounds like a plan."

"Good. I'll give you thirty minutes to get ready."

With that, Sam left, and we had some time to explore a little more.

Luna immediately made a beeline for the kitchen. "I'm making something to eat," she called out.

The kitchen was amazing—sleek, futuristic, and completely white with glossy tiled floors. It even had voice-controlled appliances. At one point, Luna casually said, Turn on the cooker, and the stove lit up instantly.

Jason and I, meanwhile, found ourselves locked in an intense battle—over which room to pick.

"Dibs on the one with the best view, Jason declared."

That's all of them, dumbass. They're identical, I shot back.

Sure enough, each room had an open lounge area with a stunning view of the landscape outside. In the end, I took the one on the right while Jason claimed the left.

Luna chose the one in the middle.

That still left six grand rooms unclaimed.

This place wasn't just a house—it was a damn mansion.

And despite the danger still looming over us, I had to admit... living here wasn't a bad deal.

As I stepped into my room and made my way to the bathroom, I stopped in my tracks.

The bathtub was massive almost the size of a small pool. The sleek, marble design and the soft glow of ambient lighting made it look like something out of a five-star resort.

Without a second thought, I stripped off my clothes and slipped into the warm water.

Haaah... this is the life.

The moment I sank in, it was as if all the tension, exhaustion, and stress I had been carrying just melted away. The gentle heat wrapped around me, soothing every muscle.

I let my head rest against the edge, closing my eyes. For the first time in a while, I wasn't running, fighting, or worrying about what would happen next.

Right now, I just let myself enjoy the moment.

The water rippled around me, and for a brief second, I felt like I was floating... transcending.

After finishing my bath, I dried myself off with a towel, feeling completely refreshed. Stepping into the walk-in closet, I was surprised to see an array of high-quality clothes neatly arranged—some casual, some formal, all of them top-tier.

I grabbed a sleek black shirt and a comfortable pair of pants, putting them on before heading downstairs. Even the air conditioning felt perfect against my skin, adding to the luxurious atmosphere of the villa.

As I reached Jason's door, I knocked. Oi, hurry up! We need to meet Sam.

From inside, his muffled voice called back. "Yeah, yeah, I just need a minute!"

Shaking my head, I continued downstairs, my attention immediately drawn to the rich aroma wafting through the air. The scent of freshly cooked food made my stomach growl—it smelled incredible.

At the dining table, Luna was already serving up the dishes. As she placed a plate in front of me, she smirked. Well, well, look at you, Mr. Handsome. You clean up nice—like a movie star.

I chuckled, shaking my head. "Thanks."

As I took my first bite, a thought suddenly crossed my mind. Wait... didn't you say you were in school?

Luna blinked, then groaned. "Crap, I completely forgot!" She sighed, shaking her head. Good thing my school isn't far from here.

She quickly finished up and served Jason's plate before heading to her room, likely to check her schedule.

Meanwhile, I focused on the food—it was just as good as it smelled. With everything that had happened lately, this moment of peace was a welcome change.

Jason finally came downstairs, and with breakfast done, we were ready to leave. Before heading out, I turned to Luna.

"When you head out, make sure to lock the door. It's voice-activated, and it's already registered our voices."

She nodded but frowned. "Wait, I don't have directions."

"There's a map on the table in the parlor, near the huge flat-screen TV," I told her.

The source of this c𝐨ntent is freёnovelkiss.com.

"Got it," she said, heading off to check.

With that settled, Jason and I stepped outside. Sam was lounging in the garden area, looking relaxed. I walked up to him and tapped his shoulder.

"We're ready."

He stretched and nodded. Alright, let's head to the guild.

As we drove, Sam glanced at us through the rearview mirror. "So, how do you guys like the house?"

"It's amazing," Jason and I answered at the same time.

Sam chuckled. I figured you'd like it, but believe it or not, the guild leader wanted to get an even bigger one.

I blinked. "Bigger than that? What would we even do with all that space?"

I pulled up the digital map of the house and nearly choked when I noticed some features I hadn't seen before—a sports pitch on the rooftop for soccer and basketball, a fully stocked bar, and a bunch of other things I wasn't even sure we'd ever use.

Sam laughed. Yeah, it's over the top.

Then he asked, By the way, did you check out the garage?

Yeah, I saw its location, but we don't have a car, so—

Sam waved off my concern. Oh, don't worry about that. There are three cars already waiting for you guys. Two are sports cars for when you attend joint guild functions or just want to cruise around, and the third is a convertible in case you don't want to be too flashy.

Jason turned to me and tapped my shoulder. Bro... are you sure we didn't sell our souls or something? 'Cause this doesn't feel real.

I was just as stunned. I was about to ask the same thing.

Sam chuckled. Trust me, the guild leader just likes to go extreme. For my birthday, he tried to give me a private jet.

Jason and I stared at him.

Sam shook his head, laughing. "Yeah, I refused. I mean, what would I even do with a private jet?"

We all laughed, and before we knew it, we arrived at the guild office.
