Raising Ducks for Daily Rewards-Chapter 53: Fusion Beam Technique
Fengyu didn’t mention any sale price during the whole six months it took for Silver Shadow to reach maturity –
Six months of him cultivating his bloodline.
At the end, the result was that only 32 spirit stones were required to reach the peak stage, even better than Spring Rain!
This was somewhat unexpected but also understandable.
With the immense vitality, maturity was pushed further away, enhancing the talent of the duck even more.
He could roughly guess that based on the bloodline, the price of Silver Shadow, if sold the way it is now, would be around 10,000 spirit stones to 50,000 spirit stones –
Its talent represented the chance to reach the second stage, which made it extremely difficult to evaluate. If a beast tamer were to inspect it and give a formal certificate for its bloodline, he could easily get a price of over 30,000 spirit stones. Sold in an auction that way could result in more, possibly even beyond 50,000 spirit stones.
But Fengyu knew a man might be innocent, yet holding a treasure makes him a criminal.
Rather than doing something so self-destructive as selling Silver Shadow, he instead "gave" it to Ming and Ling.
Technically there was never a promise nor a sale, so in case he needed the help of Silver Shadow in the future, he could recall it.
At that point, it depended partially on his relationship with Ming and Ling, and partially on Silver Shadow’s thoughts.
Over the past six months he was the only one who understood it, taught it, and allowed it to cultivate better.
For it, Fengyu was truly like a godfather, while Ming and Ling were its friends.
"Silver Shadow, you’ve become a mature duck for some time now. What are your thoughts?"
"Quack...?"
"My plan was for you to stay with Ming and Ling, follow them, and protect them.
They can offer you the resources you need to advance further. As long as you continue to cultivate, I will also help you reach greater heights."
"Quack... quack?"
"Hehe, of course you’re always welcome! Remember, this is your home – not the field, but I, your mother, your uncles, we’re your family.
If something happens or if you’re in trouble, you can always come to us."
"Quack, quack, quack!!" Silver Shadow agreed that it was his home, and that he would keep the promise in mind for all the years to come.
Fengyu was naturally happy to have such a loyal duck.
Afterward, he led it back to the edge of his field and handed it over to Ming and Ling.
He looked deeply at them and told them only one single thing – to take care of Silver Shadow properly.
If they needed to communicate, then they should simply go to a sandbox or give Silver Shadow ink and paper, for Silver Shadow had already learned how to read and write.
The two were surprised. Even though they had heard there would be such training, they were still perplexed at how a duck could learn it so quickly...
...
"Silver Shadow has left, I can finally dedicate myself to the experiment again.
It’s really difficult – first Wind Claw was suddenly born the same way Silver Feather was born, becoming a surprise and interrupting my over two-year-long experiment.
Then right as I was about to start again, Silver Shadow was born and took over a year from me!
Alas, it’s really difficult.
But looking at it, my cultivation has progressed and I am not far away from reaching the fifth stage.
I have to admit that while my cultivation is rather fast, I don’t have the right to call myself talented..."
Just a month ago, both Ming and Ling reached the fourth stage.
Their progress was extremely fast, many times faster than his!
He guessed that they might reach the sixth stage when he was still at the fifth stage in the future, but considering his situation, he simply shook his head and didn’t engross himself in small details.
Everyone has their own pace; if he got too involved in that of others, then he would lose his focus on the path to immortality.
Moving his hands and speaking a short sentence, he cast – "Wood Recovery, Recover!"
His hands moved again and he cast once more, "Vitality Recovery, Recovery!"
Two spells hovered in the air in front of him in the shape of spheres.
Just then, he moved his hands rapidly around them, as if trying to create a whirlwind, until finally he pushed his hands forward, pulling the spheres onto his right hand’s fingers – his thumb and index finger.
Pushing them together, he nearly made them attack each other –
Right then, he spoke an ancient incantation.
Finally, he cast – "Recovery Fusion Beam Technique, Shine!"
A spiritual power beam was created at the intersection between the two spells, pushing them into it and stretching it endlessly –
Finally, the beam hit the first couple of Spiritual Ducks.
Fengyu felt his spiritual power slowly fall, 1% of his spiritual power disappearing every second.
One, ten, thirty, fifty, seventy, ninety!
The beam stopped and both spells dissipated.
Looking forward, Fengyu saw that a thick green veil and overflowing vitality could be seen on the bodies of both! 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"You two, continue your business," he commanded them.
As Wild Beasts, they listened to the stronger and larger duck, so they followed his command and continued their business.
"Huffff," Fengyu exhaled a strong breath, as if he had exhausted all his strength.
"This technique is really unique. It needs a long preparation and uses a lot of spiritual power, but for a moment, it can multiply the power of a spell by the amount of spells contained in the beam.
Two spells, both spells have twice the power.
With a single technique I was able to deliver the power of 400% vitality!
The body seems to have a limit to how much vitality it can absorb, usually rejecting the incoming spells if it has already been filled.
But by combining the spells into a technique, it’s basically one continuous strong spell, directly breaking into the body and delivering rich power.
It’s no surprise why this technique, originally intended to be a battle technique, ended up being used by Spiritual Doctors!"
