Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 517 Sisterly Love 2
Lily Turner didn’t immediately walk into the apartment building after getting out of the car. She stood at the entrance, waiting for Alice Turner to get out of the car.
"Wait for me a second, I need to grab something." After getting out of the car, Alice didn’t walk towards Lily but went to the back of the car. She retrieved the groceries they had bought earlier from the supermarket and then walked over to Lily.
Seeing her sister with bags in both hands, Lily hurriedly went to help, "Let me take one."
Before she finished speaking, she reached out to grab one of the bags from her sister’s hand.
"No need, I can manage by myself."
Before Lily’s hand reached over, Alice dodged to the side with the bags, "Let’s hurry up and go upstairs."
After saying that, she carried the bags and walked into the apartment building.
Seeing this, Lily quickly followed. She wanted to help Alice with the bags, but Alice refused.
Seeing her sister’s firm refusal, she didn’t insist. With empty hands, she followed her sister into the elevator.
By this time, the morning rush for the elevators was over, leaving only the two sisters inside.
"Sis! Why did you go drinking with Thomas Fisher yesterday? When did he owe you drinks? Since when have you two become so close?" Lily had wanted to ask this in the car but held back, fearing it might distract her sister while driving.
Hearing this, Alice froze for a moment but quickly returned to normal, "I’ve only met him three times. Where did you get the idea that we’re close?"
She wasn’t that familiar with him, just slightly more acquainted than strangers.
"I figured it out from you drinking with him." Lily didn’t know the actual situation and was full of curiosity. Yesterday, Thomas sounded so anxious on the phone, which seemed unusual to her.
Alice felt perplexed and amused, letting out a helpless laugh, "I often go drinking with clients, but I’m not close to many of them."
To prove she wasn’t familiar with Thomas, she didn’t hesitate to compare him to her clients.
"But with those clients, if I recall correctly, you’ve never gotten drunk." Lily faced Alice, raising her hand and pointing at her, "Don’t try to brush it off. Did something happen between you two?"
Her eyes were fixed unblinkingly on her sister, as if she had already confirmed there was an issue.
Seeing this, Alice found it both amusing and irritating, "Nothing happened between us, so stop jumping to conclusions."
She looked at the finger pointing at her and sighed helplessly.
"I wasn’t jumping to conclusions. I have my reasons. He sounded extremely anxious on the phone yesterday. I could tell he was really worried something might have happened to you." Even across the phone, Lily could deeply sense Thomas’s concern; he was genuinely worried about her sister.
His concern was not what one would expect from someone who had recently met her sister.
As Alice pondered her response, the elevator stopped. She seized the chance to change the subject, "We’re here."
Before the elevator doors opened, she moved to stand by the door, putting distance between herself and her sister.
"Let’s talk more about this when we get back."
Alice’s deliberate avoidance didn’t escape Lily’s notice, but she wasn’t planning to let it go.
