Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 637: Is My Dad Really Daxton Taylor?
After a few polite exchanges, Christopher Turner and Easton Holmes started discussing topics of interest to men, and to facilitate their conversation, they sat next to each other.
At first, Lily Turner and Sophia Wood quietly listened to them. After a while, the mother and daughter got up and left the living room, heading to Sophia’s bedroom as agreed.
"Mom! Is my dad really Daxton Taylor?"
As soon as they entered the room, Lily couldn’t wait to ask Sophia. Even though others spoke with conviction, she still wanted the final confirmation from her mother.
Sophia led Lily to the bed to sit down. After taking a deep breath, she nodded to her eager daughter, who was desperate to know the truth: "Yes! Your dad is Daxton Taylor. How did you find out about this? Who told you? Have you met the Taylor family?"
Sophia asked three questions in a row, all revolving around the same matter, wanting to know who exactly had informed Lily.
"I heard from Evelyn Taylor, then..."
"Who is Evelyn Taylor?"
From the name, it seemed she was Aiden Taylor’s daughter. If they hadn’t been expelled from the Taylor family back then, her daughter’s name would have been something similar.
But before the name could be used, she and her daughter were driven out of the Taylor home.
From the name, Sophia already had an answer in her heart, just waiting for Lily to confirm it.
Lily knew nothing about it because ever since she could remember, she was called Lily. Initially, she was Wu Lily, but later after her mother married into the Turner family, her surname was changed from Wu to Turner.
"Evelyn Taylor is the daughter of the eldest in the Taylor family."
Because of Evelyn, Lily had no good impression of the Taylor family. Now that she knew about her mother being expelled by them, her dislike turned into a slight resentment.
"Oh!"
Sophia exclaimed knowingly. From Lily’s words just now, she sensed her daughter’s resentment toward the Taylor family, something she didn’t want to see.
Deep down, she hoped her daughter wouldn’t live her life consumed by hatred like she had. All these years, her heart was filled with hatred, causing her to lose her conscience and motherly instincts.
Due to her hatred for the Taylor family, she even included her daughter in her animosity. She constantly found fault with her since childhood, either criticizing or hitting her, and at one point even considered kicking her out to fend for herself.
Fortunately, she met a good stepdaughter, and her daughter found a good sister. If it weren’t for this stepdaughter, she might have indeed thrown her daughter out.
Thinking back on these things now, she felt she had been so cruel, even crueler than a beast.
A tiger, no matter how fierce, doesn’t eat its cubs, let alone a human. Yet she once harbored such terrible thoughts.
"Do you know Evelyn Taylor?"
Hearing Sophia respond with only a nod, Lily, unaware of the truth, assumed her mother knew Evelyn, thinking nothing more of it, as she couldn’t imagine anything else.
Sophia’s next words denied her assumption. Her mother didn’t know Evelyn Taylor at all, "I’ve never even seen her, how could I know her?"
However, she thought the name was pretty, likely belonging to a beautiful girl too, given the exceptional genes of the Taylor family.
"The Taylor family hasn’t caused you any trouble, have they?" Lily didn’t dwell on Evelyn Taylor anymore but rather focused on her mother Sophia’s safety.
