Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 640: Do I Sound Very Funny?
Bang bang bang!
The sudden knocking interrupted Sophia Wood and Lily Turner’s chat. Lily immediately thought that Easton Holmes had come to call her home, and she got up and walked towards the door.
Sure enough, when she opened the door, she saw his figure.
"It’s already late; we should go home now." As Easton finished speaking, he saw Lily cover her mouth and start laughing. Her sudden giggle left him puzzled, "Why are you laughing? Was what I said really that funny?"
What he’d just said wasn’t a joke, yet it made her laugh like that—something was up, definitely something.
"Not just funny, but absolutely hilarious."
Lily instinctively wrapped her arm around Easton’s and turned to look at Sophia, who had followed, "Mom! We’re going to head out now; I’ll come to see you another day."
She really wanted to stay tonight, but considering how far it was from his military base, she decisively gave up on the idea.
At this moment, Christopher Turner came over and happened to hear Lily say she was leaving, and he quickly spoke up to have them stay, "Why don’t you two just stay here tonight and head back tomorrow?"
A few days ago, due to unexpected circumstances, he couldn’t keep them, but today he was determined to do so.
"Your dad’s right, it’s already late. Why don’t you stay here tonight and leave tomorrow," Sophia chimed in, echoing the invitation. Today, she was sincerely, joyfully inviting them—a stark contrast to a few days ago.
Lily looked at Christopher, then turned to look at Sophia, "Dad! Mom! We won’t stay tonight. We’ll come over when Easton has a break. I promise we’ll come and bother you then."
He’s been running around so much that he’s exhausted. When we’re home, he can sleep until after five, but here he’d have to get up before four to head to the base.
Easton tilted his head to give Lily a deep look before turning to Christopher and Sophia, "We’ll definitely come to stay another day, but for tonight, we’re heading back."
It wasn’t that he didn’t notice she wanted to stay; it wasn’t that he didn’t want to accompany her; and it wasn’t that he was unwilling to get along with her parents.
It’s just that he wasn’t sure if her mother had truly accepted them being together. He couldn’t risk her and the baby in her belly.
He’d have to leave early in the morning when she’d still be asleep. How could he feel at ease leaving her there alone? And he couldn’t bear to wake her so early. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Christopher wanted to persuade them a little more, but seeing Easton’s firm decision to leave, he swallowed his words and changed his approach, "Since you’re set on leaving, we won’t stop you. But next time, you must stay."
Though he wanted to keep his son-in-law at home, he couldn’t force it. If it upset his son-in-law and he never came back, that’d be a loss.
Instead, why not build a good relationship with him? With a good relationship, there would be more chances in the future.
"Dad! Mom! Then we’re off."
Lily saw that Sophia was about to ask them to stay again, so she quickly spoke up and successfully stopped Sophia’s words in their tracks.
After speaking, she lifted her other hand to wave goodbye to Christopher and Sophia, then headed towards the door with Easton.
