Chapter 642: Chapter 642: She is Just My Non-Biological Sister

Alice Turner heard it clearly; Lily Turner just said she went to hang out at Easton Holmes’s place. She knew Lily was joking, but she could tell there was more to it.

"What’s going on? Tell me, stop brushing me off." She was eager to know what happened and urged her on.

"I made up with Mom, no! It’s more like we’ve reconciled." Lily felt that "reconciled" was more appropriate. Her relationship with her mom had never been good, so saying they "made up" wasn’t quite accurate.

"What?! What did you just say?"

Alice had heard it, and she heard it clearly. That was why she was so incredulous, so full of disbelief.

Upon hearing this, Lily mimicked Alice’s tone from earlier, parroting, "Darling! Can we not get so startled? You’re scaring me."

Her mimicry was spot-on, and she managed to amuse the person on the other end.

"Got it, I won’t scare you for fun next time. I can’t bear the responsibility if I frighten you." Alice replied half-jokingly, half-seriously, and after a brief pause, she pressed on, "Come on, tell me what’s going on? Stop beating around the bush."

To prevent the person on the other end from brushing her off again, she deliberately reminded her directly at the end.

Sensing her sister’s impatience to know, Lily stopped joking. Putting on a more serious expression, she said, "Mom and I can be like you and Mom now. I don’t think we’ll be hostile anymore."

They probably wouldn’t be hostile anymore; they had just had a really nice conversation at home—a first in her life.

Being held in Mom’s arms felt incredibly good!

She felt like the happiest person in the world. She had a loving husband, a caring sister, and now her mom had reconciled with her. She felt like the biggest winner in life.

"How did Mom come around? What kind of big reversal happened these days?" Because of some unpleasant incidents earlier, Alice hadn’t been to their parents’ house or called them, so she had no idea what had happened at home these past days.

Recalling the reversal that had happened, Lily couldn’t help but sigh, "Sis! You remember Evelyn Taylor, right?"

She had first heard about this from Evelyn, so she should start the story from there.

"Which Evelyn Taylor?"

Alice had completely forgotten about this Evelyn Taylor and had no idea who she was or what connection she had to all this.

Lily blurted out, "Ryan Taylor’s sister, Easton Holmes’s childhood friend."

My rival in love, she silently added in her mind without saying it out loud.

"Evelyn Taylor is not my childhood friend; she’s just like a sister to me." Even while driving, Easton Holmes had been paying attention to Lily’s actions, everything she did and said was within his scope of focus.

The man, who had been silent all along, suddenly spoke up. Lily turned to look at him quickly, only to see him still focused on driving. She suddenly had the illusion that those words hadn’t come from him.

If she hadn’t heard it clearly, she would have thought it was her ears playing tricks on her.
