Chapter 649: Chapter 649: You’re Awesome, I Admit Defeat

Lily Turner really wanted to confront Easton Holmes for a while, but she realized that would only waste time, and in the end, it wouldn’t change the fact that she’d be forced to concede. She didn’t bother with the effort and directly surrendered.

"You’re impressive, I admit defeat."

She raised both of her hands, giving him a thumbs up, but her facial expression was completely inconsistent with her words and the gesture of her hands.

"As long as you admit it."

Easton pretended not to see the unwilling expression on Lily’s face, leaned over, and kissed her, "Great performance, this is your reward."

His reward, however, was met with her rolling eyes, but he simply smiled as if he hadn’t seen it.

Lily gave a disgruntled glance at the man who had the upper hand but still acted innocent, lowered her raised hands, and got out of bed. She fetched her pajamas from the wardrobe and headed to the bathroom.

Seeing the woman enter the bathroom, Easton also didn’t stay sitting on the bed. He got up and took his pajamas to the bathroom outside.

When the two returned to bed, it was over twenty minutes later.

Lily just glanced at Easton, who had gotten into bed before her, without any intention of paying attention to him. After getting into the bed, she simply offered him a silent back.

Easton didn’t mind her, either. He turned off the bedside lamp and directly moved closer, reaching out to pull her, who was lying with her back to him, into his arms.

Lily didn’t stubbornly break free, nor did she angrily tell him to let go; she stayed quietly, letting him hold her.

Strangely, the sleepiness she didn’t feel earlier suddenly hit her, and her eyelids began to battle with each other.

After a while, Easton noticed the woman in his arms had gradually become still. He leaned over to take a look and found that she had already fallen asleep.

He lay back on the pillow, held her tightly in his arms, and quietly closed his eyes, seeking her in his dreams.

Because they had gone to sleep in the early hours, Lily slept until more than ten in the morning the next day. Upon waking, she found that there was no sign of Easton beside her. She turned her head to look in the direction of the floor-to-ceiling window.

Through the gap in the curtains, she saw that it was already bright and sunny outside. Thinking it was late, she didn’t stay in bed any longer and got up.

After a simple wash-up, Lily left the room and went downstairs. Seeing her coming down, Aunt Li, who was cleaning, walked over to her, "Lily! You’re awake. I’ll go heat up your meal. Just wait a moment in the living room."

Saying that, Aunt Li turned and was about to head to the kitchen to heat the meal.

"Auntie! I’ll do it myself."

Lily grabbed Aunt Li, who was about to heat the meal for her, but Aunt Li wouldn’t let her do it herself. She gently released herself from Lily’s grip and walked quickly to the kitchen.

"Lily girl! Come over here!"

Callix Linton, who was watching TV in the living room, heard the conversation between Lily and Aunt Li and turned his head in their direction, calling out to them.

Lily turned her head towards the living room in response to the voice, but because of the angle, she didn’t see Callix there.

"Coming."

She replied while walking over to the living room.

"Come and sit down!"

Seeing Lily come in, Callix patted the empty seat beside him, gesturing for her to sit down.

"Grandpa!"

When Lily approached, she politely greeted him.

Callix subtly observed Lily for a while and, seeing nothing unusual about her, and that she appeared just as usual, he was finally relieved.
