Alice Turner turned back to look at Thomas Fisher, who was catching up with her. She wanted to refuse his company, but before she could say anything, he waved at her with a smile, "Sister-in-law! You wouldn’t mind having me, the foodie, around, would you?"

He took a couple of big steps to walk alongside her.

"I don’t mind!" 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Seeing Thomas Fisher’s smiling face, Alice Turner suddenly couldn’t bring herself to refuse him. The words of refusal she had prepared were swallowed back, and the next words she spoke took on a completely different tone.

Thomas Fisher was rather thick-skinned, and he hadn’t noticed Alice Turner’s earlier hesitation at all. He even reacted this way with Easton Holmes’s obstruction, much less at this moment facing Alice Turner.

"I knew Sister-in-law wouldn’t mind me."

Hearing the woman beside him say she didn’t mind, his smile grew even brighter, "You don’t have to drive. Let’s take my car. I’ll bring you back after dinner."

Thomas Fisher pointed to his car parked not far outside the yard, inviting Alice Turner to ride with him. However, his invitation was met with her refusal, "Let’s drive separately, so it’s less trouble than going back and forth."

She had already broken the rules by bringing him along for dinner, but she was determined not to agree to being chauffeured by him as well.

Without giving Thomas Fisher a chance to speak again, Alice Turner quickly walked over to her car. Once inside, she wasted no time in starting the engine.

Seeing this, Thomas Fisher raised his eyebrows helplessly and glanced at Alice Turner, who was about to drive away. He quickly headed to his own car.

Seeing him get into his car, she drove towards the community gate without caring whether he was following her or not.

As Alice Turner drove to the community gate, she suddenly received a call from Sophia Wood. She slowed down and pulled over before answering the call.

"Hello! Mom! I..."

"Why haven’t you and Lily come over yet?"

Sophia called at this time, so Alice Turner didn’t even need to think to know she was urging the sisters to hurry up. But before she could say a word, her mom interrupted her.

Her mom’s words went right along with the storyline she had anticipated.

Alice Turner looked outside the car and truthfully told the person on the other end about her current situation, "Easton just went to the house, Lily is at home with him, and I’m on my way now."

After speaking, she inadvertently glanced outside and saw Thomas Fisher catching up quickly. He was quite fast.

Beep beep beep!

Thomas Fisher had no idea that Alice Turner was on the phone. Seeing her car inching forward at a snail’s pace, he thought she was waiting for him and honked his horn to signal that he was right behind her.

Alice Turner, still on the phone with Sophia Wood, couldn’t communicate with him directly, so she honked back in response.

"Easton went to the house? Is there something going on again?" Sophia Wood heard the horn on Alice’s side, but she was more concerned about Easton Holmes visiting. She had a hard time keeping her daughter with her and was worried her more assertive son-in-law might take her away.

The wedding was scheduled for tomorrow, and she didn’t want any last-minute problems to arise today.

Alice Turner heard the worry in Sophia Wood’s tone and quickly reassured her, "Don’t worry, there’s nothing going on. He just came to see Lily."

She was purely guessing at this point and had no clue what the actual situation was.
