Chapter 790: Chapter 790: Whether I’m Happy or Not, I Haven’t Cared Anyway

Thomas Fisher held onto Evelyn Taylor’s arm all the way until they walked out of the courtyard gate, only then did he completely let go of her arm.

"The air outside is nice, isn’t it?"

After stopping, he turned to look at her and made a remark just to fill the silence.

"It’s all the same."

To Evelyn Taylor at that moment, it didn’t matter where she stayed; it all felt the same, equally suffocating, equally unable to make her happy, equally sad and miserable.

Of course, Thomas Fisher knew exactly what Evelyn Taylor meant, but he pretended not to understand the meaning behind her words, feigning confusion, "How could it be the same? The air outside is so fresh. Unlike being indoors with so many people, where there’s carbon dioxide everywhere."

He had been smiling since earlier, trying to cheer her up and lift her spirits.

But it didn’t seem to work; she showed no sign of wanting to smile, not a hint of a smile appeared on her face from start to finish.

"Oh."

Evelyn Taylor responded with just a sulky "oh," as a way of replying to Thomas Fisher.

"Oh? You’re just brushing me off like that."

Thomas Fisher accompanied his complaint with a look of disappointment.

"I am not."

Evelyn Taylor just said one sentence, "I am not," and then didn’t say another word. She didn’t even cast a glance at Thomas Fisher, simply turning her steps to the side of the courtyard gate.

Seeing this, Thomas Fisher followed her up without a second thought, leveraging his long legs as a man, catching up with her in just a couple of strides, "Where are you going?"

He took a big step forward, blocking her way.

"I’m not going anywhere." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢

Evelyn Taylor didn’t know where she wanted to go either; she had just turned around casually and chosen a direction at random. Her mind was a mess, and she just wanted to find a place to be quiet for a while.

"Since you’re not going anywhere, come and chat with me there." Thomas Fisher pointed to a nearby spot, and after pointing, he didn’t care whether Evelyn would agree, he grabbed her hand and led her to the place he had pointed out.

It wasn’t anywhere special, just slightly further from the courtyard gate.

After moving away from the gate, Thomas Fisher let go of Evelyn. This time, he didn’t pretend to be clueless; he directly got to the point, "Seeing Easton and Lily getting married, are you feeling unhappy?"

Since playing dumb didn’t work, he decided to make a bold move, directly hitting her sore spot to help her get over her sadness quickly.

"Whether I’m happy or not doesn’t matter anyway; everyone’s revolving around that woman now." Upon hearing Thomas Fisher mention Easton Holmes and Lily Turner’s wedding, Evelyn Taylor’s emotions suddenly became agitated, a stark contrast to her previous sulkiness.

Finally, this girl snapped back!

Seeing Evelyn like this, Thomas Fisher knew his change in approach worked. If he had known earlier that this would be effective, he wouldn’t have tiptoed around her, pretending to be clueless.

"How could it be that nobody cares whether you’re happy? We all care about you, don’t we? Easton cares about you too, he..."

"He doesn’t care about me at all; right now, all he sees and thinks about is that woman named Lily Turner."

As soon as Thomas Fisher mentioned Easton Holmes, Evelyn Taylor couldn’t hold back and interrupted him. Her words were filled with resentment towards Easton and hostility towards Lily Turner.
