Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 849: Jealousy
After the guests congratulating the newlyweds departed, only the families of the two newlyweds and Easton Holmes’ three best friends remained.
Christopher Turner was exceedingly happy today. He was delighted to have a son-in-law like Easton Holmes, and three out of the four young masters in Flame City were connected to their family. He was so pleased that he felt he could wake up laughing even in his dreams.
Seeing how happy he was, Benjamin Shaw curled his lips in disdain, what a sycophant.
Alice Turner inadvertently turned her head and caught Benjamin Shaw’s small disdainful action. She followed his gaze and saw her father, Christopher Turner, chatting with Callix Linton and Michael Linton.
She knew very well what kind of person her father was. Although she didn’t like her father’s ways, he was the father who raised her, whom she had to respect all her life.
Who was he to look down on her father like that? What right did he have to look down on her father like that?
Her father might be a bit sycophantic, but he was definitely not unfaithful. He was very responsible toward his wife and never fooled around outside.
For that reason alone, she admired and respected her father.
Benjamin Shaw seemed to sense Alice Turner’s gaze. He withdrew his gaze from Christopher Turner and looked over to where she was sitting at the next table.
When she saw Benjamin Shaw’s gaze drifting toward her, Alice Turner was taken aback for a moment. However, she didn’t dodge in panic, instead meeting his gaze fearlessly.
Thomas Fisher, sitting to Benjamin Shaw’s right, noticed Benjamin’s unusual movement. Following Benjamin’s gaze, he saw Alice Turner exchanging looks with Benjamin Shaw.
He didn’t know what had just happened, but seeing them exchange glances made his heart suddenly ache with a sudden pang of jealousy.
Blinded by jealousy, he failed to notice the turbulent undercurrents between the two, seeing only what seemed like an affectionate gaze.
Realizing this, Thomas Fisher’s heart ached even more, so much so that it hurt. He picked up his glass and downed its contents in one go.
"Thomas! Haven’t you had enough?"
Seeing Thomas Fisher down half a glass of wine in one go, Ryan Taylor instinctively showed concern. His good buddy had already drunk quite a bit; given his usual drinking capacity, he was nearly at his limit, and drinking more would likely get him drunk.
Thomas Fisher merely tilted his head to glance at Ryan Taylor, reached for the nearest bottle of wine, poured himself a full glass, and was about to gulp it down.
Just as the glass was about to reach his lips, a hand suddenly extended from the side, taking the glass from him.
When the glass was suddenly taken from him, Thomas Fisher instinctively turned his head to see that Benjamin Shaw had taken it. He flared up immediately, "Give me back my drink!"
He reached out to snatch the glass back from Benjamin Shaw.
"You’ve drunk a lot already. You shouldn’t drink any more, or you’ll end up drunk." Benjamin Shaw refused to return the drink, pushing away the wine-grabbing Thomas Fisher with one hand while placing the glass back on the table with the other.
"Who are you to tell me if I get drunk or not? Give it back!"
Thomas Fisher stood up and leaned over to reach for the glass that Benjamin Shaw placed on the table. Just as his hand was about to reach it, Benjamin Shaw suddenly pushed it aside.
Due to failing to control the strength of his hand, the glass was forcibly knocked over on the table by Benjamin Shaw.
