Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap-Chapter 886: Come Home Early After Finishing Your Business
Callix Linton received the news from Lily Turner that Easton Holmes went to the Military Department to handle some affairs. He didn’t doubt this at all because he believed Lily wouldn’t lie to him, and he also trusted that Easton wouldn’t deceive Lily.
Because of this, Callix thought that Easton was at the Military Department since he hadn’t returned so late. Thinking about his grandson still handling military matters during his marriage leave made him feel both heartache and pride.
"Handling some urgent matters, will be done soon, and after that, I’ll go home." From the start, Easton planned to keep this from Callix, and now that he knew Theodore orchestrated this, he was even more determined to hide it completely from Callix and Lily.
"Rest assured and sleep, don’t worry about me."
Before Callix could respond, Easton added, indicating clearly that he intended to end the call. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Over the phone, Callix understood the implication in Easton’s words; his grandson always acted with a sense of propriety.
He knew his grandson must have something to deal with, otherwise, he wouldn’t be out so late at night without returning home.
"Finish your work and come home early."
"Understood."
After finishing the call with his grandfather Mr. Linton, Easton put away his phone, hit the gas pedal hard, and the car shot out like an arrow.
Forty minutes later, Easton arrived at his parents’ house located at 16 Splendid Home. He didn’t ring the doorbell but directly climbed over the courtyard gate.
After entering the yard, he didn’t go straight to the house entrance but walked to the central garden. He took a piece of wire from the flower stand.
With the wire in hand, he walked briskly to the front door and, still without ringing the doorbell, used the wire to unlock and enter the house.
The house had several wall lamps lit. Using the dim light, he quietly went upstairs but didn’t find anyone in Theodore’s room.
He searched the other rooms on the second floor, not missing any corner, but still didn’t see even a shadow of Theodore.
Did that brat run away after causing trouble?
Filled with doubt and anger, Easton went downstairs. Since he was here, he decided to greet his parents.
He strode to Fabian Holmes and Amelia Linton’s room. This time, he wasn’t cautious nor did he open the door himself, but knocked on the door.
With anger in his heart, he didn’t pay attention to the force of his knock, which was quite strong, making the door thud loudly.
After knocking, Easton waited at the door for someone inside to open it, but he waited a long time without anyone opening the door or even making any sound.
He thought perhaps the people inside were asleep and hadn’t heard, so he raised his hand and knocked again, more forcefully than before, resulting in even louder knocking sounds.
He waited for a while and instead of someone inside opening the door, the family’s maid, Mrs. Wang, came.
"Young Master Dalton?!"
Hearing noises outside, Mrs. Wang, who got up late at night, put on a coat and left her room to check. From a distance, she saw someone standing at Fabian and Amelia’s door.
At first, she thought Theodore had returned, but as she got closer, she saw it was Easton. Having worked in this house for many years, she was somewhat familiar with the family’s affairs.
Seeing Easton in the house so late at night made her very surprised.
