Hearing Easton Holmes say he’d come over soon, Amelia Linton felt very excited; even after she hung up the phone, she still held onto it tightly. It took her a long time to finally take the phone away from her ear.
She lifted the blanket from her legs, got out of bed, and went to the bathroom. She wiped her tear-stained face with a towel and looked in the mirror. Confirming she didn’t look as disheveled, she stepped out of the bathroom.
Amelia didn’t return to the bedside but went over to sit on the sofa. She turned on the TV, watching it while waiting for Easton’s arrival.
Her mind was both excited and nervous, with a touch of apprehension; she didn’t know the real reason Easton was coming to the hospital.
Was he here to visit her, injured and hospitalized? Last night, he came to the hospital too, but he didn’t even enter the ward. Instead, he argued with his father at the hospital entrance for a while before leaving.
Amelia knew the details of last night’s events from Fabian Holmes, but he was using this incident intentionally to annoy her, and she was indeed quite upset.
