Lily Turner didn’t find Easton Holmes downstairs, nor did she see any sign of him in the yard. As she was about to go upstairs to look for him, Callix Linton walked out of his room.

Seeing her come in from outside, he raised his eyebrows in confusion, "Girl! You went out?"

As he asked, he instinctively glanced behind her. There was only her; he didn’t see his grandson.

"He’s sleeping in the room, I didn’t want to disturb him." Lily Turner had seen Easton’s car in the yard earlier, which indicated he hadn’t gone out. If she didn’t find him on the first floor, he must be on the second floor.
