Chapter 180: Painting Stuff Into Existence?

“Aria… what are you doing?” Rael asked, his brow twitching uncontrollably.

He had indeed gone to check up on her. However, here she was, in the palace courtyard, painting a portrait of the Celestara royal palace.

Frankly, it looked like she had gone mad, but she didn’t seem to think the same way.

“I’m bored.” She leaned back, nearly falling off her seat. “Plus, I think I’m onto something. Look…”

The moment her words finished, she delivered a stroke on the canvas. Immediately, a faint trace of mana emanated from the canvas and flew toward the palace.

Then, a giant pillar shot out from the ground and formed a rough-looking guard tower that perfectly blended with the palace’s exterior.

“Ta-da~” Aria exclaimed as she raised her arms into the air, sweat dripping down her face. “What do you think? Neat, right?”

“…” Rael stared at the sight with a puzzled yet shocked expression as he approached the structure she had just made.

He placed his hand on it, and to his greater surprise, the structure was solid.

It was made of real bricks, yet as he walked over to the entrance and swung the door open, he noticed that the inside was blank.

There was literally nothing there, just the inner part of the exterior.

Is this some creation magic…? This is just overpowered… Rael trailed off, turning toward Aria, who was leisurely painting again.

Back in Sketa Online, there were classes related to painting, but none that had such control.

Most used brushes to fight long-range, with each color in their palettes having different effects that were fully customizable.

But Aria? She was literally just painting things into existence.

Rael slowly walked toward her and then stood behind her.

“So uhh… how’d you realize you could, you know… do this?” Rael asked. “I heard from your gramps that he had trained you and your sisters in the art of the violin blade.”

“I didn’t learn his techniques since I had other business to take care of,” Aria replied plainly as she put the coloring palette down. “But I’ve always loved painting… come with me, I’ll show you.”

She stood up, placed her canvas and coloring gadgets into her inventory, and led Rael back to her quarters.

He followed her absentmindedly, surprised by her enthusiasm.

“Say… how was your day? Did you find the ones behind the coup?” Rael brought up, causing her to halt.

“About that… there were too many people involved…” Aria muttered. “Hundreds of civilians, a couple dozen royal guards, and even three officials.”

Rael’s eyes widened. “And you found them all? This fast?”

She nodded with a smirk. “Yeah, well, Evelyn wasn’t getting it done, so I had to use my magic hands.”

He really hoped she only said that because she was good at painting.

Anyways… onto more pressing matters.

“Are they alive?”

Aria tilted her head. “The civilians? No. The royal guards have also been killed. The only ones left are the three officials who are currently locked up in the palace’s dungeons.”

Just as he was about to speak up, Aria interrupted. “Oh, and don’t mind the protection. Both Linlin and Evelyn are standing guard. I’ve already told Queen Zafira about this matter too, so you can relax for a bit.”

“Where’d my stern assistant go?” Rael grumbled, causing Aria to let out a giggle.

“You’re a terrible teacher.” She shrugged. “I barely learned anything from you, and let me guess… you’re going to go on some excursion again?”

Rael shook his head. “My schedule is pretty free until next week. There are some things I need to set up, of course, but they’re nothing major.”

Only the Evangelists… no biggie. Rael sighed. I need to be careful with them.

After all, for all he knew, they were the reason the future he saw had come to fruition in the first place.

But it would be too convenient… they might be a part of it, but I doubt they’re the cause, Rael thought, putting it aside for now as they finally arrived at her room.

It didn’t seem as girly as last time. In fact, it was pretty empty.

Yet Aria didn’t seem to care much as she approached her closet and swung it open.

Immediately, a dozen paintbrushes and canvases fell out, dyeing her floor in an array of colors.

“…”

“T-That was not supposed to happen,” Aria said, flustered.

She leaned down, pinched the colors off the ground, and dropped them onto her coloring palettes as though it was normal. freeweɓnøvel.com

What the fuck is Aria made of? Rael couldn’t help but wonder.

“But yes, as you can see, I’m trying to broaden my horizons a bit in a different way,” Aria remarked, twirling on her heel as she sat down on her bed. “It might seem boring to others, but I find it fascinating. I can literally draw something, and it comes to life.”

“Life?” Rael’s brows furrowed. “Can you make sentient stuff?”

The moment he asked that, her eyes widened as she covered her mouth.

“So you weren’t supposed to tell me that, I guess…” Rael sighed. “I won’t tell anyone, you don’t have to worry.”

She slowly took her hands off her mouth and then nodded. “Yes… I can make golems and all sorts of different constructs… I can also draw organs into existence, like a heart or something. It’s the only reason my grandpa is alive for so long.”

“Wow…” Rael exclaimed. “But what’s the catch? Is there a limit?”

“My imagination… and mana. A lot of mana…” Aria replied with a giggle. “But aside from that, what now? You said you didn’t have any excursions planned, but I have a feeling you’ll be leaving soon.”

“Right…” Rael scratched his cheek. “Well, if it makes you feel any better, I promise to take you along next time. How does that sound?”

A faint smile tugged at Aria’s lips. “That sounds—”

Her words were interrupted when a wave of pop-ups appeared in front of them.

<Error!>

Haha, get fucked, Rael snickered.

There were only a few hours left until the beta test ended. And frankly, Rael wished he had gotten more out of the players than a measly couple billion.

Nonetheless, there was a time and a place for that, and it would be in exactly 120 days when Sketa Online officially comes out.

“Congrats,” Aria said, clapping a few times. “The travelers seem to have some leeway on our world. It’s a bit disheartening, but I’m glad the quest was canceled.”

“Mhm…” Rael trailed off as he stared at the brushes in her closet.

“Do you think you could teach me how to paint?”

hi, lazy author has a new book. I’d appreciate it if you could add it to your collections as that would make getting a contract much faster and easier. Ty!
