Re-Awakening Online: Rebirth Of The Strongest Spirit God-Chapter 25 - Twenty-Five: Abyssal Entities
Chapter 25 - Twenty-Five: Abyssal Entities
Chapter Twenty-Five: Abyssal Entities
Twilight didn't know whether to laugh or cry. How had he overlooked something so important?
He was trapped, and death felt inevitable. But he did have two possible ways to escape — maybe.
The first was his Spirit Manipulation talent ability. Its description was rather straightforward:
---
[Talent Ability: Spirit Manipulation]
[Ability Description: You can command the spirits of all living beings, and the spirit qi in the air bends to your will.]
---
Twilight had never fully understood the first function of this ability.
Until now, he had only used it to command spirit qi.
But what if he could manipulate Ashahell's spirit? If that failed, he could try controlling the spirit of the fallen Night Wing.
He refused to overestimate himself. He wasn't even sure if spirit and soul were the same thing, but one thing was certain: with the combat prowess Ashahell had displayed, his spirit would not be weak in any way.
If he attempted to control Ashahell's spirit and failed, he would undoubtedly draw his attention and might die before even getting a chance to try on the Night Wing.
For a better chance at survival, he had to start with the Night Wing.
If that failed, only then would he risk Ashahell.
Twilight took a deep breath and glanced at the battle between Ashahell and the summon.
But what he saw made his blood run cold.
The summon's body was riddled with wounds, its weak cries foreshadowing its imminent demise.
If he was honest with himself, he had never expected the summon to defeat Ashahell— it had only been meant as a distraction.
Even so, Twilight knew his summon would die long before he reached its original body's deathplace.
Gritting his teeth, he charged toward the Night Wing's remains — the spot where he had retrieved its beast crystal.
In no time, he arrived. Just like before, the Night Wing's bones lay amidst black dust.
But he wasn't here for sightseeing. His eyes burned with intensity as he scanned the surroundings, searching for the creature's spirit.
His Spirit Manipulation ability only stated that he could control spirits, but said nothing about how to see or sense them.
Closing his eyes, he tried to feel the flow of air in the hall, hoping that through this method, he could detect the Night Wing's spirit.
Yet even after several seconds, he sensed nothing resembling a spirit.
With a frustrated sigh, he opened his eyes and continued scanning the area.
But this attempt also yielded no results.
Reluctantly, he abandoned the approach.
'I guess I was too late,' he thought, sighing.
If he hadn't been so distracted by the Night Wing's loot, he might have noticed its spirit in time.
Now, all he could do was smile bitterly and swear to never put the cart before the horse again.
Had he not been blinded by short-term gains, his survival would have been much easier.
And judging from his connection with his summon, it had no more than a minute or two left to live.
There was no time to waste, so Plan B it was.
His first plan — controlling the Night Wing's spirit — had failed.
But he had one more option.
His new innate ability.
He hadn't even checked its description yet, but he was sure of one thing — it had to be powerful.
Innate abilities were never weak. They were the manifestation of a person's affinity, the ability that fit them the most.
In fact, innate abilities consumed a hundred times less spiritual energy than talent abilities.
No matter how useless his new power seemed, it had to be capable of helping him escape Ashahell.
Without hesitation, he summoned his system interface and focused on his innate ability's information.

[Innate Ability: Abyssal Entities Control]
Type: Active
Innate Ability Description: The abyss is filled with many entities, and they are yours to control. Abyssal entities can be physical or abstract, but they make up the abyss, for they are ever-present in its boundless depths.
Controlled Entities: [Dread], [Despair], [Shadows], [Darkness]
---
Twilight's eyes gleamed.
From what he understood, the abyss was composed of countless entities, both physical and abstract.
And as long as he met the requirements, he could manipulate all of them.
At the moment, he had control over four:
Dread. Despair. Shadows. Darkness.
Though he wasn't sure how he had qualified for these specific entities, he could already think of ways to use them.

And as he studied their names, an insight struck him.
Dread. Despair. Shadows. Darkness.
All these things existed in the abyss.
In the abyss, one felt fear.
In the abyss, one felt despair.
And in the abyss, there were shadows and darkness.
If he wanted to gain control over more abyssal entities, all he had to do was determine what else existed in the abyss — or, more precisely, what one felt within it.
But now wasn't the time for pondering.
He needed a way to use his innate ability against Ashahell.
Then, an idea struck him.
Dread. Despair.
If he could control abyssal entities, then all he had to do was make Ashahell feel dread or despair.
Once that feeling took hold, he could amplify it, weakening Ashahell's insane combat prowess significantly.
If he could pull this off, Ashahell would be doomed — and killing him might no longer be out of the question.
A chilling light flashed in Twilight's eyes.
