66. Intermediate Level Mage 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂
Eryndor woke up to a throbbing headache that subsided moments later, he sat up straight and held his head in pain. He looked at the expanse of his souls void to see that it had expanded by several metres and had gotten much, much brighter. It was no longer pitch black but was a mixture of dark green and light blue similar to the northern lights. There were billions of twinkling lights that drew his attention.
He raised his head and watched everywhere in awe, if the colour of his soul void changed then that must have meant that he had succeeded in ascending up a rank. The new colour that flooded his soul void showed that his mana core had become more richer. He pressed his hand to his chest to feel something different within his chest, it felt lighter by ten times, he could also perceive that he had gained a greater comprehension of mana theory ti some extent.
He also felt a sense of confidence pulled with the newfound power. Eryndor smiled deeply, finally feeling proud of himself. He had done it, he had successfully ascended to have an awakened mana core. His magic and mana control would be more fluid. "Great, I did it. I’m finally an intermediate level mage." He had crossed the threshold from beginner to intermediate in one huge stride, he felt all the hard work he had put in finally paying off.
The message of the legacy came a moment later:
[You have consumed an awakened beast core
You have grown stronger]
He proceeded to look at his improvement in the legacy:

Race: Elf (Holy)
Title: Fallen Prince, Degenerate
Rank: Intermediate Mage

Eryndor took a moment to be excited before his face turned to turmoil. "Why the hell would I need to reach 5000 magic points to get stronger, how many beast would I have to kill then?" He wiped his tears and forced himself to look on the bright side of things, that is if there was any.

"How is a newborn beast and awakened?" He thought to himself for a long time before coming to the conclusion that the mountain wolf king had been accumulating the mana essence of the beast it had slain to its offspring in order to birth a stronger spawn. But this was just his speculation, one he deemed more likely.
Now more interested in the abilities of the wolf pup he looked at its personal information.

The information looked promising to him but the fact that it did not have a synergy ability like the bird’s eye view he shared with Snow felt like a let down. Either way having another beast and an awakened one at that was an added bonus.
With Snow he could observed the field of his future battles from the sky and with King he would have an ally that would actually as a ground assault. Eryndor could not help but feel more fulfilled than ever.
Feeling the need to go back and supplement his life before his body froze up he drew his consciousness out of the soul void and into his body only to be pulled out by a strange force. Instead of going back into his physical body he stumbled into a strange space, he was standing before a temple that towered into the clouds, it’s walls looking aged and rough, there were evident signs of cracks and dust on the walls. Eryndor looked around him to see a world of white foas that looked like clouds, even the floor was soft like clouds.
"What the hell is going on?" He asked himself as he turned his attention to the temple. Before it were two arching pillars acting as a gateway with no gates, there were strange inscriptions in the walls in form of tablets depicting places, people and beasts. It felt like walking into a museum, the amount of information that flooded his eyes was overwhelming.
He tried to use the power of his left eye but nothing came up, he also felt detached from the soul void unable to access the legacy or his mana. "I can not be dead, can I?" He tries not to think on the fact that his real body might have frozen to death
Eryndor hears the sounds of loud drumming from the temple sounding like thunder and cannon fire, thus startled him and caused him to jump back. There was also the sound of chanting that spelt doom for him. Faced with no water out he contemplated on whether to walk forward or stay out till whatever was happening died down but as usual, his curiosity got the better of him.
