Re-Overlord: I Can Acquire Anything!-Chapter 162: Battle Of Mythos
Chapter 162: Battle Of Mythos
As the chaotic battle raged across land, sea, and sky, a sudden silence fell in one corner of the battlefield.
Igaris floated above the carnage like a god surveying his domain. His dark hair whipped in the wind, and his eyes gleamed with silent wrath. The ground far below trembled under the weight of destruction, but here in the sky, time itself seemed to slow.
"Swoosh, swoosh.."
Two powerful auras emerged from the enemy ranks, cutting through the storm like blades of fate.
The same bald man cloaked in golden war robes stepped forward. His halberd pulsed with runes, and the metal of its edge hummed with a sound that cracked the sky.
Next to him hovered a silent figure wearing a jade-colored mask that concealed his features. His body shimmered faintly, as if he was not entirely part of this world, and threads of unknown power flowed around him like ghosts in the fog.
These were not ordinary enemies. They were both Mythical Rank, peak beings who had walked battlefields beyond mortal comprehension.
Facing them without fear, Igaris met their gaze with the calm of a bottomless abyss.
"I do not know your names, but this is your final chance. Surrender now, and I will spare your lives. You will have the honor of serving in the world I am about to create. A world without chains or cruelty."
The bald man let out a cold chuckle and tightened his grip on the halberd. Sparks danced across its edge as it crackled with divine flame.
"You speak as if you already own the future," he mocked. "So arrogant, just like your brother. And do you know what happened to Izroth when he tried to defy the Skadi Empire? He died screaming, his dreams burned to ash."
Rumble!
At those words, a chilling aura swept from Igaris like a black tide. The sky dimmed, and the clouds overhead recoiled. His pupils narrowed to slits as killing intent poured from him like a flood.
A low buzzing sound filled the air.
The very atmosphere trembled.
Soldiers on both sides felt their hearts tighten in terror. The pressure was so intense that those with weak willpower dropped to their knees, clutching their heads, unable to breathe.
But the two enemies remained motionless, seemingly unimpressed.
The jade-masked man finally spoke, his voice soft and ethereal.
"We fought in the Cosmic War, boy. Do you think your glare is enough to shake us? We walked on moons bathed in blood and shattered stars with our bare hands. You cannot frighten us. Today, your reign ends."
The winds howled in response, and thunder cracked like the roar of a divine beast.
.
"I see," Igaris suddenly turned quiet, his tone deep and reverberating. "You have chosen death."
He unsheathed his blade.
At that moment, the heavens stirred.
The battlefield below trembled slightly, as if the world itself understood a calamity was about to unfold.
"Die, you mongrel!"
The bald man roared, charging first. With a flash of divine might, his halberd shot forward, aiming to cleave Igaris in half from shoulder to hip.
His speed tore through the sound barrier, creating a thunderous boom across the battlefield.
Igaris raised a single finger.
[ World Destroying Finger ]
Instantly, the space between them cracked.
BOOOOM!
A massive shockwave burst out as the halberd struck against an invisible wall of annihilative force. For a moment, time cracked as a pulse of absolute power shook the sky.
"BANG!"
The bald man’s weapon shattered halfway along its shaft, pieces of it vaporizing under the pressure of Igaris’ ability.
"Wh-what?!" he gasped, stumbling back, blood trickling from his nose and ears.
But before Igaris could follow up, the jade mask figure finally moved.
He lifted his hand.
Silence fell.
A black sigil in shape of a Clock formed behind him. The clock was spinning slowly like a cursed sun and then, the world around them began to bend.
Igaris’ body slightly warped. His surroundings felt folded. His own six senses stuttered.
"Space-time binding Technique," the jade mask figure said calmly. "You will fight forever within a single moment of time. You will be trapped until your soul rots."
Reality twisted.
But Igaris’ eye-brows only frowned. .
Then he clenched his fists.
[ Yin-Yang Reversal: Reverse Space-Time ]
A wave of dual-colored energy erupted from his body — one black, one white. Together they circled him in a divine spiral.
"BOOOM!"
The space shattered.
The twisted pocket realm cracked apart like glass beneath his feet. The jade sigil dimmed and then disintegrated entirely.
"No technique built on illusion or confinement will work against me," Igaris said as he slowly stepped forward. "I am the Sovereign of Domains. Your fate was sealed the moment you drew your weapons."
The bald man gritted his teeth, blood spilling from his mouth. "We underestimated him... but we are not alone."
Suddenly, energy surged from both enemies at once.
Their bodies began to overheat, glowing with golden runes.
"Battle Contract: Final Form — Twin Pillar Ascension!" they roared together.
Wings of light erupted from their backs. Their power burst through the peak of Mythical, temporarily surging to a pseudo-Divine (Apex) state.
But Igaris only smiled.
"Then I will treat you like gods... and kill you all the same."
His aura expanded.
The clouds above parted. The winds halted.
His next move would not just be for the two before him.
It would be a message to all watching:
The Overlord of Stargaze was not just defending his city.
He was declaring dominion over the world.
The twin enemies floated before Igaris, both now boosting with power that cracked the sky and warped the air around them. Their bodies had changed. Their muscles thickened, veins glowing with divine gold, and strange halos shimmered above their heads. Wings made of energy kept them aloft, as if they had transcended mortality for a brief moment.
Adrian and Lucius, watching from afar, were stunned.
"Did they just ascend?" Lucius muttered.
"They used the Twin Pillar Ascension Art... sacrificing decades of lifespan just for a temporary power-up," Dominic said grimly. "This will be enough to overpower Igaris."
But Ren Wen, standing beside Founder Jian, clenched his fists. "They still underestimate the lord, right?"
"Who knows? Even I don’t know the Lord’s true strength."
