Re: Player-Chapter 297: [After the war(V)]
[Adam's POV!]
.
Waking up from my slumber, I found myself in an empty space. A white space different from the one where I was, an unfamiliar space, an unknown space of sorts.
And there stood her, a woman in black, smiling at me, as if she were enjoying my presence. My very existence.
"Seems like you are having fun, eh?"
She asked as I just kept looking at her. I wanted to answer her but I couldn't as she laughed even more, before she spoke,
"It's good. Looking at you smiling like that… makes me happy…"
She turned around as she began walking away from me. I tried moving towards her, but somehow my feets were frozen. I tried speaking to her, but words failed to come out of my mouth.
"But you know. I kind of miss you," she added as she stopped. Her back somehow felt a tad bit lonely, before she slowly looked back and spoke with a smile on her face,
"I have decided to follow your advice. I am going to join in this game too. Since you made your choices… I will also find someone."
A bright smile appeared on her face as she then cheerfully laughed before she began walking away from me. And I, dazed a bit at her smile, looked at her go… until I slowly drifted off… my consciousness was fading… or perhaps it was coming back…
And by the time I realised, I was back at the deep sea temple as Neptune observed my expression and said," must have been a pleasant dream. You seemed happy."
"A… dream..?" I paused as I recalled her face.
Who was she? And what was she talking about?
"Should we head back now? People are waiting for us?" Neptune spoke as he observed my still confused expression. And I, still a bit lost in thought, tried my best recalling that dream. I think I had a similar dream when I was in Border Town…
Hmmm… someone from my past?

I pondered before shaking my head. I know it felt important, but somehow… it felt like I won't have this dream again even if I were to repeat this turn. Just like I didn't have the previous one despite regressing over and over.
And with those lingering though in my mind, I looked at Neptune who had shared my memory and pondered a bit over it before choosing to stay silent. While I sighed before opening the portal to Coastal City.
It was about time.
To finish what was started a long long time ago. Or perhaps 30 days ago when I entered this city?
"Let's go," Neptune gestured as he waited in front of the portal, while I nodded before taking the first step into the portal, before I appeared right outside the city gates where a bunch of merchants were entering and few more guards were stationed.
'Seems like things have returned to normal pretty quick,' I thought as the angels and demons were gone from the city. The people looked a bit more cheerful than the first time I was here, the suffocating and tense atmosphere was gone. And even without the charm magic that I used here for the past 30 days, the city was doing pretty well on their own.
"Huh?"
"Are they…?"
"No way…"

"They have returned… They… THEY HAVE RETURNED!!"
"ADAM IS HERE! SIR NEPTUNE IS HERE!!"
"THEY ARE BACK!!!"
And one voice led to another, before a chain reaction spread. Everyone began shouting, chanting my names all over the city, calling everyone else, notifying them of our arrival.
"It's like a festival," I spoke out with a smile as I saw all of them then running towards us at a rapid speed, their expressions filled with excitement and happiness, as they all moved in for a hug.
"OUR SAVIOURS ARE BACK!! CALL OUT THE ENTIRE CITY! OUR SAVIOURS ARE BACK!!!"
The children shouted as they ran away, deeper into the city, smiling and laughing. And observing what was in front of me, the excited face of everyone present here, as they all surrounded us…
'It was worth it.'
I laughed out loud before looking at Neptune who was showing a mature smile as well.
"You are late!" A voice echoed as woman levitated in the air before slowly moving towards me. The gathered crowd created a space for her to descend, before she smiled and spoke,
"How is your health?"
"Hey Equi! I am good. Better even," I raised both my hands, showing her a bit of my mana channels, and she was shocked to see the perfectly aligned artificially aligned mana channels. Though I just pointed at Neptune and spoke,
"My brother is the best doctor in the world, you know? He can heal people even without using mana. And when he does use mana, nobody could compare to him."
A cheerful smile appeared in my space as I exaggerated what 'my brother' could do. And looking at how others were looking at Neptune in reverence, they all seemed to believe without a single doubt on their faces.
"Come. They are all waiting for you," Equi spoke as she then took my hands before politely asking Neptune as well," sir. Will you please?"
Neptune nodded before all of us, including the crowd, began moving towards the Neptune's Clinic, the most famous clinic in the entire city. No more there were over pricing from the nobles, and no more there were people who would threaten or steal.
Somehow, this city, the center of many criminal activities, was now a center of the most humble people. And the reason for all that was…
'Using the charm to instill ideas and changing behaviour patterns slightly was worth it,' I recalled the things that I have done and plan to bring out fruition now. With this, the Coast City will fully flourish, becoming the most important part that connects the two Kingdoms, the Light and the Water.
With this, two Key cities, the Border town between Light and Life Kingdom, and this Coast city, were in my control. And so will be all the players that were going to go through these places.
'It will be fun,' I thought as I walked between Neptune and Equi, while observing the clean city. Behind us the entire city, as we slowly talked about the mundane things that were happening while we were gone.
And as our steps reached near the destination, a clinic appeared in our view where about a dozen key people were standing, waiting for us to reach them.
'Let's put a proper closure this time, shall we?' I thought as I took the first step along with Neptune. It was about time to tie all the loose ends and finally put an end on the chapter of this city.
