Rebirth: A Cinderella's Counterattack-Chapter 1348 - 1328: Visiting Old Friends (Part 4)
"I’ll take this one, the rest of you can leave." was Old Lady Deng’s first reaction as she returned to her senses, quickly stuffing the lid back in and clutching it to her chest like a protective mother.
Qhianqhian chuckled bitterly, "Grandma Deng, you’ve got to let everyone try it too, you know. Look at how Brother Sui’s suspicious that I’ve brought you drugs."
After Qhianqhian pointed it out, General Sui looked a bit embarrassed, but remained firm. The leader’s personal safety was crucial.
Of course, he also wanted to try the stuff.
In the end, Grandma Deng grudgingly provided just enough for everyone to have a taste, and they were all amazed, with no negative reactions whatsoever.
"It’s completely natural, with no additives, so consume it quickly after opening," Qhianqhian chuckled as she noticed how An Hao, that little glutton, would drink a whole jar a day.
"Huh? I wanted to give some to..."
"Grandma Deng, there are three more jars over there — one for you, one for Grandma Xiu, and one for Grandpa Wei," Qhianqhian gestured to the bag, finally putting Old Lady Deng at ease.
Embarrassed, she smiled at everyone, "Then let’s drink it during mealtime later."
Qhianqhian said nothing, just merrily watched the group, and seeing their expectant glances, she blinked playfully, "What is it?"
"Hurry up and bring out whatever else you’ve got, can’t you see everyone is waiting?" Old Master Deng was clearly the most impatient, but the others were quite anxious too.
Qhianqhian looked helplessly, did they have to be so eager?
Surveying the ground, she spotted a bag, smiled slyly, and retrieved two glass bottles of about two hundred milliliters each, handing them to General Sui and Xiu Xian. She blinked, "These are good stuff." Inside, the liquid was brown with some chunk-like things; who knew what it really was.
"Why didn’t I get one?" Old Master Deng glared fiercely, clearly infuriated.
"Because you don’t need it," Qhianqhian replied innocently.
"Why wouldn’t I need it? Hand it over now," Old Master Deng demanded, face contorted in anger.
Qhianqhian quickly shielded the items, "No, no, the rest are for Chang Xi’s husband and two brothers. If the principal’s husband needs any, he can have a bit too, but nobody else gets any."
Upon hearing this explanation, Old Master Deng furrowed his brow, sensing something odd...
"What is this?" Grandma Deng asked, equally curious.
Qhianqhian gazed heavenward, "It’s just tiger whip, or something like that..."
In the next second, everyone in the room blushed, and Old Master Deng glared viciously at Qhianqhian. This brat, treating herself like a child, sharing such things... Why wouldn’t he be able to use them?
In the next moment, the two who received the bottles sheepishly tucked them in their coats, guarding them tightly.
"Next." Old Lady Deng sighed helplessly but soon resumed her usual demeanor, understanding the spirited child’s intentions.
"Should I talk about my official business first? Otherwise, you might find it hard to refuse," Qhianqhian chuckled cunningly, naturally eyeing everyone.
Old Master Deng frowned, "What’s the point of delaying? Just say it!" Then he muttered, "Knew this ungrateful rascal couldn’t have come for nothing." Although muttered, everyone in the room heard him clearly.
"Hmm... I need to create identities for four undocumented people. We need to go abroad, and can’t do that without IDs," Qhianqhian chuckled, "I promise it’s official business."
Old Master Deng furrowed his brows and instructed Xiao Sui, "Go get Elder Wei. Girl, let’s head to the study."
Having said that, he stood up, and Qhianqhian took a bag from the ground and followed cheerfully, without any reservations.
After a short while, Elder Wei arrived.
Seeing familiar faces, Elder Wei felt a surge of emotion, but before he could say anything, Qhianqhian handed him a large bag of items, cheerfully saying, "Hello Grandpa Wei, long time no see, really missed you."
"You and your sweet words," Elder Wei replied sternly, looking at Old Master Deng, "What’s going on?"
"Ask her," Old Master Deng said angrily, eyeing the meat jerky in his embrace. He knew very well what it was without opening it.
Seeing Old Master Deng’s expression, Elder Wei found the whole situation amusing. What was going on here?
Qhianqhian repeated what she’d said earlier, and Elder Wei furrowed his brow slightly.
"Where are you headed?" He sensed Qhianqhian wasn’t foolish enough to tell them such plans, like asking the police how to buy demerit points.
Upon revealing the destination, the two elders were momentarily taken aback, exchanging glances, clearly not completely unaware of the situation there.
"Where are you staying?" After a long silence, Elder Wei finally asked.
Qhianqhian calmly provided the villa’s address, smiling, "Thank you both, but I hope it’s quick. I’ve got quite a few things to handle and need to resolve them quickly."
They were naturally aware that Qhianqhian was once part of the special department known as Blank; after the director was detained, the department mysteriously lost all contact.
"Alright, you little troublemaker, always causing headaches. Where’s your ID?" Elder Wei sighed deeply, visibly helpless.
"I just happen to have reached adulthood today," Qhianqhian replied cheerfully, "so it’s just the right time to go exploring everywhere."
The two elders were momentarily stunned but then nodded in realization.
"Later, bring me your ID too," Elder Wei nodded, agreeably, writing resignation all over his face.
"Hey, Grandpa Wei, is Sister Xi here? Bring her and her husband along! I’ve got presents," Qhianqhian lightly suggested.
"Your Sister Xi and brother-in-law just went to the hospital this morning, should be back soon, I’ll call them," Elder Wei replied helplessly, "I thought she was pregnant, turns out it’s gastroenteritis — vomiting right after eating."
"I see," Qhianqhian fluttered her lashes, "The grandchild will come, no rush, Grandpa Wei."
Elder Wei gave Qhianqhian a sideways glance; she made it sound easy.
"I might as well call those two brothers back for lunch. Seeing all this stuff on the ground, maybe we should share it when we meet?" Elder Wei leisurely gazed at Old Master Deng, decidedly to provoke him, as he’d noticed Old Master Deng’s murderous glare when Qhianqhian tucked the items into his lap.
Old Master Deng indeed glared angrily, eyes wide, "Just go home, sip tea, play chess, goodbye."
No doubt touching a nerve for Old Master Deng.
"Don’t worry, Grandpa Deng, there’s plenty for you," Qhianqhian laughed heartily, seemingly carefree.
She was sure she wouldn’t be turned down; she understood her position well.
Visiting these elders was a shortcut, but also meant keeping her father from being exposed.
