Rebirth: Building the Strongest Party with my Overpowered Harem.-Chapter 14: The Orc king.
Chapter 14 - The Orc king.
"It's here. Dammit."
Alice gritted her teeth as she held her blade, slowly moving away as the monster stepped out of the forest.
The two men beside her did the same, leaving only the criminal they were punishing behind.
Though if he had the option, he would also run. But at the time, his body would not allow him.
Slowly, the monster revealed itself to them. It was an Orc, four times the size of the humans before it.
In its hand was a giant wooden weapon, a single swing from such a weapon could crush a human in seconds.
"An Orc King," one of the men spoke, fear already dancing on his face.
"An Orc King?" Alice turned to the man.
"Y-yes... y-you see that mark on its chest?... it... it means we are in its territory," the man responded, despite shaking in fear.
'My punishment for not paying attention to monsters. If that's an Orc King... that means...'
Alice's eyes widened as she turned around, slashing her blade to deflect the arrow speeding toward her.
Just a few more inches and her eyes would have been gone.
"We are surrounded!" Alice announced to the men beside her.
Just as she told them, they were already surrounded by smaller Orcs, their creepy laughs echoing as they knew Alice and her gang stood no chance.
Orcs are usually upper-rank C at best, which would mean the Orc King would be somewhere between a B or A-rank monster.
Alice was a B-rank Swordmaster class, while the men around her were C-rank at most.
There was no way she would survive a battle against so many Orcs.
"Lady Alice... what should we do..?" The man panicked, hiding behind her.
Alice gave it a thought for a moment.
Running away was not an option; with so many Orcs around them, they would catch up in an instant.
Which meant she had only one option...
"Listen, you two... can you handle the other Orcs? You don't have to fight them to the death. Just distract them."
"Do you want to fight the Orc King?" one of them asked.
"Seems like the only choice here."
The two men looked at each other for confirmation.
"Okay. Stan and I will do our best. We trust you."
"Good, let's do this then."
Alice began to move forward, following the slow pace of the Orc King.
"If you have come here looking for your next prey, know you stand before Alice Grayson. Come, allow me to escort you to the afterlife!"
Her voice cracked as she launched herself forward.
The Orc King let out a loud roar in response to her, the trees and ground vibrating under the sheer might.
Following the movement of the Swordmaster, the Orc charged forward.
Both had amazing speed despite their size.
Bang!
Though Alice made the first strike with her sword, the Orc King was simply stronger.
A single smash from its wooden weapon sent Alice flying through the forest, her back slamming against a tree before she could come to a stop.
'What the hell? Why is it so strong?'
Before she could stand up, the Orc King landed in front of her after making a huge leap from where it was.
'The hell...?!'
Raising its foot up, it got ready to stomp Alice to death.
Alice quickly rolled away, the shockwave from the stomp pushing her forward again.
But this time, she stood up instantly, making sure not to lose her balance.
Sprinting toward the Orc, she grabbed her blade, infusing it with her mana.
"Aahhhhhh!"
She let out a powerful cry before making her attack.
The blade connected, slicing off one of the Orc's fingers.
It let out a cry, green blood spewing from the opening.
'This is my opening!'
Alice slashed her blade at the Orc King again, this time targeting its leg.
Blood dripped to the ground as the Orc fell to its knee.
She had a wide opening to its neck, and she didn't plan on missing such an opportunity.
A crazy smile could already be seen on her face as she raised her blade to the sky, swiftly bringing it back down.
Until...
'Huh?'
Bash!
The Orc King slapped her across the face, the entire left side of her face damaged from the single attack. Her body went flying and slammed into a tree.
Burrrh!
She spat out blood from the impact.
Her left eye turned red from the amount of blood losing its path in her head.
'W..hat happened?'
She questioned, staring at the ground before her.
'I can't move my body... d..did I lose?'
Her face, almost like it was melting, began to bleed and drip to the ground. Even her right hand was broken, barely connected to her shoulder.
'There's... no way... Alice Grayson would...'
Suddenly, she felt the grip of the Orc King around her neck as her body began to lift from the ground.
She could barely fight back.
Slowly, the Orc began to squeeze the life out of her.
The grin on its face was almost the same as the one Alice had made when she was about to kill it.
Alice choked, her eyes rolling back as saliva leaked from her mouth.
She was going to die. Every act of desperation she had done to free herself came to nothing.
She kicked her legs, tried to punch the Orc King—nothing worked.
'I don't want to die...' Alice whispered, tears now dropping from her eyes.

'Not yet... I haven't done anything to help them yet. If I die... they'll be by themselves. Please... someone... help me...'
Slash!
Alice fell to the ground with the Orc's severed arm.
Stumbling backward while screaming in pain, the Orc found itself armless, its blood rushing to the ground with every passing second.
This was done by none other than Adonis himself.
Now standing between the girl and the Orc, Adonis uttered...
"Honestly... I didn't plan to get involved since you were not supposed to die here. But it would seem the plot had other plans for you," he said out loud.
And then came a sigh,
"I don't plan on getting in your way, thus, I'll ask you... Do you wish to handle this on your own? Alice Grayson."
