“The Sweepers are too powerful, so powerful that they make us feel almost suffocated. We schemed for over a million years and, only with the revelation’s help, found the Divine Ark Civilization, an existence that has hope of resisting the Sweeper Civilization. I hope the final result will not disappoint us.” Technology Taihao sighed.

“But I always have a bad premonition.” Specter Taihao said. “The Sweeper Civilization undoubtedly knows the Divine Ark Civilization’s identity and also knows we intend to support the Divine Ark Civilization to oppose the Sweepers, and the Sweepers are happy to see this. When the Divine Ark Civilization is at its strongest, if they destroy it, they can complete the accumulation of fate in the dark and advance into the category of a Level 7 Civilization. In such a situation, I do not believe the Sweepers would be arrogant enough to fail to prepare. In fact, they have already planted their own piece within the Divine Ark Civilization, namely that intelligent being called Xu Junpo.”

“The name Xu Junpo was bestowed upon that intelligent being by us.” Technology Taihao said. “We have already hinted to Xiao Yu in this way, so that Xiao Yu will pay attention to that intelligent being and regard him with sufficient caution. But there is one point that still leaves me extremely puzzled and that I cannot understand no matter what. In secret, by technological means and without alerting Xiao Yu, I already conducted the most thorough analysis and research on that intelligent being named Xu Junpo, even copying part of his memories. Yet with my level of technology, I found nothing on him different from anyone else. He is simply an ordinary person, just a bit more clever. I can even be certain that he is loyal to Xiao Yu. Like the other beings in the Divine Ark Civilization, he loves his present life, cherishes it, and feels full gratitude toward Xiao Yu, the civilization’s highest leader. Then the question arises. Why would the Sweeper Civilization set such a piece. What role will such a piece play in the time to come.”

“I do not believe the Sweeper Civilization does useless work. The Sweepers have extremely high accumulation in bioscience and technology. Even so, those imitation soul stones required tremendous effort, and they manufactured only three. They took out one imitation soul stone and set the piece that is Xu Junpo. We analyzed by every channel, yet we cannot find any reason for them to do this. In the final analysis, that Xu Junpo is merely an ordinary intelligent being. Under Xiao Yu’s tight surveillance, with even micro bombs implanted by Xiao Yu in all his vital organs, what waves can he possibly stir up.”

“Hmph.” While Technology Taihao seemed to be thinking aloud with all his might, the Alien Beast Taihao showed considerable impatience. It said quite roughly, “There is not so much to it. If you ask me, simply let me take the field and directly wipe out all the habitation ships of the Divine Ark Civilization. Kill all the intelligent beings, and there will be no such problems. Do not worry. I will absolutely not let Xiao Yu discover it was me.”

“Fool.” Technology Taihao and Specter Taihao both snorted coldly at the same time. “Do not forget the division of labor within our Taihao Alliance. Alien Beast, you should not be expressing opinions in this area.”

“Very well.” The Alien Beast Taihao answered somewhat sullenly and spoke no more.

“Why is it, why is it…” In the empty void of space, this sentence echoed again and again as Technology Taihao and Specter Taihao once more sank into contemplation.

At this moment, in another place in space, a blurry figure was darting at high speed. It was traveling by curvature flight, yet it still left faint traces in the visible universe.

“I hope I am not too late, I hope I am not too late.” This existence muttered. “I hope Xiao Yu accepted my warning early and left the Pegasus Civilization’s territory to hide somewhere.”

“In this dark universe, besides Xiao Yu, it turns out no one can be trusted. The Taihao Civilizations cannot be trusted, the Sweepers cannot be trusted, and the Guardians even less so.”

“What exactly does the Taihao Civilizations’ change in attitude mean. By rights, the Taihao Civilizations could not possibly ignore Xiao Yu. Although it is still unclear for now what exactly the Taihao Civilizations are plotting toward us, judging from past experience, we are undoubtedly of value to the Taihao Civilizations. Then now, are we of no value to the Taihao Civilizations.”

“So be it, so be it. This universe was dark to begin with. From the start I should not have placed faith in the Taihao Civilizations. Yet with so many powerful existences, the Sweepers, the Guardians, Level 6 alien beasts, the Taihao Alliance, the road ahead truly looks bleak.” The Specter companion sighed and accelerated once more.

This place lay over six hundred light-years from the Pegasus Civilization’s capital star system. It was a very ordinary star. Around it, a vast and inexplicable existence was lurking quietly.

It possessed an immense body. All over it were outgrowing branches, and on those branches were things like leaves. Viewed as a whole, it looked like a giant tree from Earth.

“Oh. You have come, little one. Hmm, your strength is not bad. You are almost at the level of a Level 4 Specter. Pity, pity. If you were a Level 4 Specter, I would feel some apprehension. As you are now, you are not my match. Why have you come to me. Have you come to persuade me to give up destroying the Divine Ark Civilization.”

This colossal being still orbited that star, its body not moving in the least, yet a vast message was sent out and transmitted to the Specter companion at the edge of the star system.

“Yes, I have come to make a trade with you.” the Specter companion answered. “I have a piece of intelligence to tell you. The value of this intelligence is great, comparable to the value of the Divine Ark Civilization. I hope to use this intelligence in exchange for your giving up the idea of destroying the Divine Ark Civilization.”

“The Specter Race is something rarely seen for a long time, and one who has grown to the peak of Tier Three is even rarer. In my long life I have only seen a few. I am very curious. What exactly is the relationship between a Specter and this Divine Ark Civilization. Why have you repeatedly tried to stop me from striking at the Divine Ark Civilization. What exactly is the relationship between you.” The Arboreal Race alien beast asked with keen interest.

“The answer to this question is not within the content of this transaction.” the Specter companion replied very crisply. “I have no need to tell you.”

“Very well, then I will not ask this question.” The Arboreal Race alien beast replied in an unconcerned tone. “Then tell me, what intelligence do you want to use for the exchange. The Divine Ark Civilization contains a very great secret. As long as it is destroyed, one gains great benefits. I do not believe the value of your intelligence will surpass that of the Divine Ark Civilization.”

“Recently, the Crocodilian alien beast and the Alien Beast Taihao crossed blows. The Crocodilian alien beast suffered a grievous defeat, to the point that even its reproductive organ was knocked off by the Alien Beast Taihao. By my estimate, the Crocodilian alien beast will need at least a thousand years to recover to its peak. As it is now, it has at most seventy percent of peak combat power. Is this not good news for you. If you can devour the Crocodilian alien beast, how great would the benefit be. Is this piece of intelligence enough to make you stop your move against the Divine Ark Civilization.”

What answered the Specter companion was a brief silence. After a moment, the Arboreal Race alien beast’s somewhat solemn voice came. “Tell me where the Crocodilian alien beast is. I need to know where it is hiding.”

“But how are you going to make me trust you.” The Specter companion spoke with a slightly playful tone. “Although the alien beast civilization has low intelligence, its inner cruelty and cunning are in no way inferior to other kinds of civilizations. In such a situation, if you do not do something to make me trust you, do you think I will tell you this intelligence.”

“You have no choice but to trust me.” the Arboreal Race alien beast said in a low voice. “If you refuse to tell me where the Crocodilian alien beast is, I will set out right now to seek the Divine Ark Civilization and utterly destroy it.”

“If you dare to do that, you will forever lose this chance to eliminate the Crocodilian alien beast.” The Specter companion did not back down in the slightest and answered tit for tat.

The Arboreal Race alien beast fell silent again, as if weighing the pros and cons between the two. After a while, it said, “Very well. Then what must I do to make you believe me.”

“Very simple.” the Specter companion answered. “Follow me and head in the direction away from the Pegasus Civilization’s capital star system for thirty years. After thirty years, I will tell you where the Crocodilian alien beast is.”

“There is actually no need for such trouble.” The Arboreal Race alien beast suddenly laughed lightly. “As long as I capture you, I do not believe I cannot force the Crocodilian alien beast’s whereabouts out of you.”

As soon as the words fell, the Arboreal Race alien beast’s massive body moved at once. In an instant it vanished from the visible universe, and in the next moment it appeared before the Specter companion. Those things on its body that resembled the branches and leaves of a giant tree lashed fiercely toward the Specter companion.

The Specter companion gave a sharp cry and likewise vanished from the visible universe at once. “Do you think you can catch me.”

In the void, these two mysterious and powerful existences thus began a chase.
