With a Star-Class warship in his possession, in terms of conventional technology alone, Xiao Yu had already reached the pinnacle of a Level 6 Civilization’s conventional strength, on par with the Guardian Civilization that lacked four-dimensional jump, space fold, instant slicing of the small universe, and space shattering technology. Of course, because Xiao Yu could store several hundred million or even more warships within his small universe, even without the Micron Civilization’s corpse and the Specter companion, he could still fight the Guardian Civilization to a draw.

This was Xiao Yu’s current strength. Adding the Micron Civilization’s corpse and the Specter companion on top of that, Xiao Yu now had the power to completely crush the Guardian Civilization. Naturally, that assumed the Guardian Civilization would not run. The Guardian Civilization was renowned for fleeing and concealing its tracks. Over tens of millions of years, even the Sweepers Civilization had been unable to annihilate it. The degree of prowess in this escape skill could be imagined. It could be said that if the Guardian Civilization was determined to run, then even with the Micron Civilization’s corpse, Xiao Yu would have no way to wipe it out.

But there was no urgency in annihilating the Guardian Civilization. Xiao Yu planned that after returning to the Milky Way Galaxy, he would first discuss with the Taihao Alliance before moving against the Guardian Civilization.

During the voyage leaving the Large Magellanic Galaxy, Xiao Yu stocked sufficient stars within his small universe, then embarked on the long journey. What awaited him ahead was a voyage of more than a thousand years, during which he would receive no external replenishment.

In this period, Xiao Yu would complete the construction of the second Star-Class warship and elevate his reserve of warships to the scale of one billion. Among them, the number of Planet-Class warships would reach ten thousand. These one billion warships would be the conventional technological war strength of Xiao Yu. From this moment, Xiao Yu would be the undisputed number one in conventional strength within the Milky Way Galaxy. In terms of conventional power, even the Sweepers Civilization would not be his match.

“The affairs of the Milky Way Galaxy are approaching their end. This return will decide my future fate. Whether I destroy the Sweepers Civilization, or the Sweepers Civilization destroys me, everything will be revealed. This wager that has stretched on for a million years is finally coming to the moment of its final result.” Xiao Yu sighed inwardly. “Exterminating the Guardian Civilization is also a process of accumulation. If I can eliminate the Guardian Civilization and obtain four-dimensional jump, space fold, and other technologies, my conventional technology will reach a peak. Coupled with the Micron Civilization’s corpse, my overall strength will climb to the strongest. At that time, it will be time for my showdown with the Sweepers Civilization.”

“Therefore, eliminating the Guardian Civilization is imperative for me. Only, before that, there are several problems that must be solved. First is how to attack a small universe. I currently do not possess this technology. The second is to counter a four-dimensional jump and prevent the Guardian Civilization from fleeing. If this problem cannot be solved, I will be like the Sweepers Civilization, unable to annihilate the Guardian Civilization even after tens of millions of years. The third problem is to locate the Guardian Civilization’s hiding place.”

“I still have more than a thousand years before I return to the Milky Way Galaxy. Then let us begin the preliminary research first, and hope that in this period I can research a result.”

“Using the Loya Round Cup technology can realize mutual linkage between the small and main universes, but this method has its limitations. Namely, one must have a thorough understanding of the small universe’s mass, gravitational distribution, energy distribution, and other states. We know nothing about the Guardian Civilization’s small universe, so it is impossible to invade the Guardian Civilization’s small universe by this method.” At a scientists’ conference, Xiao Yu said, “If we want to eliminate the Guardian Civilization, we must find a practical and feasible method.”

Luka Three stood up and said, “I still remember the ruins of the Trolor Civilization that we encountered. The Trolor Civilization’s relic was a small universe. In the process of resisting the Sweepers Civilization, they were forced to hide within a small universe, but even so, they were still annihilated by the Sweepers Civilization. Then we have reason to believe that the technology to invade a small universe is at least mastered by the Sweepers Civilization. And as for the Guardian Civilization, whose conventional technology surpasses that of the Sweepers Civilization, they must also have mastered it. Since both of these civilizations can master it, our Divine Ark Civilization has no reason not to develop it.”

“Exactly so.” Xiao Yu said. “If we cannot master the technology to invade a small universe, then in a war with us, the Guardian Civilization would be in an invincible position. This is unacceptable. Therefore, I have decided to establish a rapid research team. Number Three and Number Five, you two will serve as the leads. I will fully support you. You must develop this technology within one thousand five hundred years.” 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

After a slight pause, Xiao Yu continued, “Xu Junpo, you will take charge of another mission. In this period, you are responsible for developing technology to counter four-dimensional jump. If we do not have this technology, the Guardian Civilization will also remain in an unassailable position. This technology is equally critical to us.”

“Understood. I will complete the task.” Xu Junpo replied.

“As for the third problem… I do not think it is a problem.” Xiao Yu thought for a moment and said, “Although the Milky Way Galaxy is vast and very empty, and because the small universe technology is involved, without clues, searching aimlessly, finding the Guardian Civilization is basically impossible. It is just that we already know the Guardian Civilization is preparing an intergalactic voyage. This is a very clear clue. We can follow the vine to find the melon through this and track them down. What we need to expend is nothing more than some energy and time.”

The reason for such confidence was that Xiao Yu already knew the method the Guardian Civilization used for intergalactic voyage. This method, put simply, was ingenious, yet also clumsy. In fact, in Xiao Yu’s estimation, this ought to be the only method for civilizations below Level 7 to carry out intergalactic voyages.

The principle of this method could be illustrated with a simple example. The Milky Way Galaxy is more than two million light years from the Andromeda Galaxy. According to common sense, a Level 6 Civilization cannot possibly travel this distance without external replenishment.

But change your thinking. Suppose we regard this 2.5 million light year journey as a straight line and then divide this straight line evenly into ten thousand segments. Then each segment would be 250 light years long.

[T/N: The author made a mistake and acknowledged it in the next chapter as they put 2.5 light years instead of 250 light years which I’ve corrected.]

These points would be ordered by distance from the Milky Way Galaxy. The point closest to the Milky Way would be point a1, followed by point a2, and so on, all the way to a10000, with a10000 being the destination point located in the Andromeda Galaxy.

Then, because the matter, or rather energy, contained within the Milky Way Galaxy can be regarded as nearly infinite, the a1 point closest to the Milky Way can likewise be regarded as having infinite energy or mass. Because a Level 6 Civilization already possesses the capability to transport stars, this Level 6 Civilization can, by consuming the Milky Way Galaxy’s energy, transport a vast quantity of mass to a1 as reserves. Since the Milky Way’s mass is infinite, the mass transported from the Milky Way to a1 would likewise be infinite.

Of course, the ‘infinite’ spoken of here is not infinity in the mathematical sense, but relative to the consumption capacity of a Level 6 Civilization. It is obvious that a Level 6 Civilization cannot consume an entire galaxy’s energy. From this perspective, the Milky Way’s mass can indeed be considered infinite.

By analogy, since one can use the Milky Way’s mass to make the mass at a1 effectively infinite, then naturally one can consume a1’s mass to make a2’s reserves infinite. Then consume a2’s mass to make a3 infinite, then consume a3’s mass to make a4… and so on, until by consuming a9999’s mass, the mass at a10000 becomes infinite.

Thus, a star route capable of providing unlimited replenishment for a far-voyaging fleet would be laid out. By consuming these pre-positioned reserves along the way, even a Level 6 Civilization could carry out an intergalactic voyage.

This was the method Xiao Yu deduced for the Guardian Civilization’s intergalactic voyage.

Of course, this method existed in theory. In practical operation it was not so simple. The Guardian Civilization would first have to determine how many replenishment points to set in total, then, based on its initial energy reserves, decide where to place a1 and how much energy to store at a1. It would also need to make an overall consideration from the aspects of engineering workload, time consumed, safety, reliability, and so on. This was a massive and complex project, essentially impossible to complete without tens of thousands of years. According to the intelligence told to Xiao Yu by the spatial lifeform, it was very likely that when humans were still eating raw meat and drinking blood, or even earlier, the Guardian Civilization had already begun this project.

There was no doubt that this project was enormous and feasible, but it had one drawback, namely, it was truly difficult to ensure concealment. Transporting so many stars, even if the Guardian Civilization applied full light and gravitational shielding to them all, because the scale of the project was too great, as long as one was intent on searching and willing to expend time and energy, it could still be found. The Sweepers Civilization might have no interest in spending that much time and energy to look for the Guardians, but Xiao Yu was very interested.

And once this star route was found, it would be tantamount to finding the Guardian Civilization.

This was Xiao Yu’s method for locating the Guardian Civilization.
