Even the Sweepers Civilization would probably have to go to great lengths when facing this iron sphere, because the Sweepers’ conventional fleets were not as strong as those of the Guardian Civilization. The iron sphere had been forged specifically to deal with the Sweepers Civilization. Now that it faced Xiao Yu, with the Guardians’ conventional fleet strength inferior to Xiao Yu’s, the iron sphere was doomed to catastrophic defeat.

The Tianyuan IV Star-Class warship and several hundred Planet-Class warships jointly unleashed a space shattering attack, while nearly ten million ordinary warships on the perimeter carried out continuous strikes on the iron sphere. At every moment, huge chunks of material were cut from the sphere. Each chunk was as large as a mountain. Although composed of iron, these were not ordinary iron structures. Their toughness exceeded that of the toughest substances on Earth by a factor of ten thousand. Yet under the endless slicing of spatial fissures, they were cut into powder as effortlessly as the softest soil.

The sphere was composed primarily of iron, yet this iron was not ordinary iron. Iron is the most stable element and the most abundant heavy element in the universe, which is why the Guardian Civilization chose iron as the principal material for constructing the sphere. After undergoing the Guardians’ special modifications, its density and toughness were greatly increased. Only an iron sphere like this could qualify to confront a Neutron War Star or the Micron corpse.

The Radiance and the Python Alien Beast had both joined the battle, struggling to oppose the assault fleet headed by the Tianyuan IV and to share the sphere’s burden. The sphere still frantically pursued the Micron corpse, but for now it was clearly impossible to catch it in a short time. Although the Micron corpse continued to flee, there was a certain unhurried ease to its flight. It was in control of the situation. Xiao Yu saw that as the Specter companion piloted the Micron corpse in retreat, it kept incidentally destroying Guardian ships that lay along its path forward, and even suddenly plunged into the conventional fleet’s main battlefield to slaughter for a time before departing. The iron sphere, by contrast, was like a clumsy tank. It possessed enough power to destroy the Micron corpse, yet its poor maneuverability prevented it from bringing that power to bear.

Spatial rifts crisscrossed back and forth. The fireballs of exploding ships flashed again and again. Wreckage lay everywhere. Within the Guardian Civilization’s small universe, all of this formed a bizarre apocalyptic scene.

“The sphere’s mass has already decreased by roughly one twentieth, one Jupiter of mass.” Xiao Yu observed calmly and confirmed this intelligence. The sphere’s outer layer had almost been shaved off by one stratum, yet the sphere’s various structures and instruments, such as the Energy Shield maintenance system and propulsion system, had not been damaged. This further confirmed Xiao Yu’s suspicion that the sphere was built in multiple layers. It was obvious the Guardians had long anticipated that the sphere might come under siege from conventional fleets, so they had forged it via this relatively troublesome method.

“But it still avails you nothing. In both conventional fleets and top-end combat power, I hold the advantage. What hope do you have of winning?” Xiao Yu mused, as he continued to direct his vast fleets in ferocious attacks against the Guardian side.

Another immense spatial fissure swept by. It quickly reached the sphere, broke through its modular shield system, touched the body of the sphere, then ruthlessly sliced away a huge mass of material, roughly half an Earth in mass, and vanished.

Next came a second high-powered spatial fissure. It also carved deeply into the sphere and carried off another huge mass of material, roughly one third of an Earth in mass, then disappeared.

The Radiance and the Python Alien Beast did their utmost to block Xiao Yu’s vast fleets, yet they always seemed somewhat powerless. The sphere’s shield system was very strong, but under this sky full of spatial slicing, even it struggled to hold.

The sphere’s mass and volume continued to diminish in this manner. Every second it lost the equivalent of nearly one fifth of an Earth’s mass. No matter how great its mass, it could not withstand such a rate of loss.

“The destruction of the sphere is already settled.” Xiao Yu thought. “Let my strongest strike finish you completely.”

Under Xiao Yu’s command, several hundred Planet-Class ships and the Tianyuan IV Star-Class warship activated once more. A world-ending aura began to spread through space. An extraordinarily thick spatial fissure was quietly taking shape.

This spatial fissure was not an ordinary one. It was the embodiment of Xiao Yu’s highest space technology. It even carried a hint of the Guardians’ black lightning’s flavor.

Black lightning had once sliced a large chunk from the Micron corpse, and the sphere’s toughness fell far short of the Micron corpse.

Moments later, the fissure finally took shape and Xiao Yu released it. In the next instant it reached the sphere and made contact with the sphere’s shield system. The sphere’s shield brightened at once, then rapidly turned a dangerous, urgent crimson, so red it looked ready to drip blood.

In the next moment, the sphere’s shield was breached. Because of its modular shield technology, only that region of the shield was broken, yet that was enough. The extraordinarily thick bolt of black lightning touched the sphere’s body and, like a red-hot blade slicing through wax, instantly plunged deep into the sphere and emerged from the other side.

The sphere was cut in two like an apple cleaved in half. Xiao Yu saw that at the sphere’s core there was a great quantity of unknown liquid material that, under immense pressure, spurted into space, only to be sliced apart along its path by the crisscrossing spatial fissures. The two halves of the sphere began to contract under their own gravity. Even a half sphere had a mass far exceeding Earth’s. Even the Earth would contract toward sphericity, how much more so these halves.

But they had no time to re-form into spheres. The cut faces produced by the spatial fissure had no shield system. Without a shield, even something as tough as the sphere was nothing before the spatial rifts. Just as it began to show signs of contracting into spheres, it was struck by ubiquitous spatial slicing. The halves were cut again.

The spatial fissure assault did not stop. The sphere was continuously sliced, and the smaller it became, the faster the slicing went. In the end, the sphere vanished, transformed into innumerable tiny particles and completely lost to the universe.

“At last the sphere is destroyed. Without it, the Guardians have no ability to threaten the Micron corpse. In that case, be destroyed by me.” Xiao Yu swiftly issued his order. The Specter companion pivoted the Micron corpse at once and charged toward the Radiance and the Python Alien Beast behind.

“Kill the Python Alien Beast first. Keep the Radiance, I still have use for it.” Xiao Yu commanded.

“No problem. The number one alien beast in the Milky Way? Its comprehensive strength surpasses Alien Beast Taihao, so what? Before the Micron corpse, it will still be destroyed.” The Specter companion’s reply brimmed with manic ferocity. The earlier chase had exhausted its patience. It was not like Xiao Yu and could not control its emotions as effectively. It now urgently needed a bout of slaughter to vent the depression in its heart.

It was obvious the Python Alien Beast had been selected by the Specter companion as the sacrifice upon which to vent its inner fury.

At the moment the sphere was destroyed, Xiao Yu knew the overall situation was decided. The Guardian Civilization would surely draw the same conclusion. They should understand that their destruction was now irretrievable. Yet the Radiance at this moment maintained a remarkably calm posture. It did not flee, but continued to fight desperately here.

In contrast, the Python Alien Beast was far inferior. Once the sphere was destroyed, it instantly turned to flee, but it was too late. In its grievously wounded state, it could not possibly outrun the Micron corpse. An instant later, the Micron corpse caught up and slammed into it, then pierced out the other side of its body.

“Save me, save me, hurry and save me…” the Python Alien Beast moaned feebly, but the Radiance still made no move. It continued tangling with Xiao Yu’s conventional fleets and showed no interest in rescuing the Python Alien Beast. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

“The Python Alien Beast is powerful. Although it is not the Micron corpse’s match, it can still play a huge role in other areas. Even now, with defeat already certain, it would seem best for the Radiance and the Python Alien Beast to join forces against the Micron corpse. There is no reason for it to sit tight. Could the Radiance have some scheme? Does the Guardian Civilization still have some hidden trump card?”

Xiao Yu grew quietly vigilant, but he did not cease his assault on the Python Alien Beast. He had resolved to eliminate it here and remove a mortal threat. Moreover, the Python Alien Beast’s flesh was valuable. Warships made from its flesh would likely surpass even the Solar Star-Class warship in performance.

Just then, Xiao Yu suddenly noticed an anomaly. He saw, at the other end of the Guardian Civilization’s small universe, some light that did not belong to this universe entering it, as if a Space Bridge had suddenly connected to this place.
