Rebirth of the Supreme Immortal Emperor-Chapter 393 - 390: Giants Gather! [Vote for Monthly Pass]
Chapter 393: Chapter 390: Giants Gather! [Vote for Monthly Pass]
After returning to his tent, Li Chen did not sleep but released his consciousness to explore the entirety of Mount Everest.
Beyond Lian Hongshang’s breath, he also keenly detected two different energies.
However, they should both be on the south slope within Niger’s territory, too far away, and with high mountain ranges as a barrier, making it impossible to explore clearly.
These two energies, one came from the Snake Spirit Temple, Left Protector Tai Ling, Right Protector Tai Ji. They were twins, brother and sister, sent to serve the five-headed Spiritual Snake in the Snake Spirit Temple from a young age.
If it were one-on-one fighting, they would only be on the same level as the Indian Snake King who was killed by Li Chen. However, what they practiced was a Dual Cultivation Technique, and when they joined forces, their power was terrifyingly formidable, such that even masters of the Demigod Realm would have to avoid them.
Besides that, another energy was also on the south slope within Niger’s territory. However, they were not taking the same route and were very far from each other.
Tai Ling and Tai Ji were very familiar with the Himalayas; they directly took a shortcut up the mountain. The other party, being outsiders, like Li Chen and Lian Hongshang, were not familiar with the terrain and took the conventional climbing route.
This path was taken by three of the ten giants from the renowned Overseas Hongmen.
The first one was a sexy lady clad in an off-shoulder armor with a very hot figure, blonde hair, and blue eyes—who went by the name of the Blizzard Girl, Snow Princess!
From a young age, she was not afraid of severe cold, being able to walk readily bare-bodied in the icy snow at minus thirty or forty degrees. After growing up, she learned a Divine Skill to control wind and snow. Coupled with her beautiful appearance and hot figure, she was thus known as the Blizzard Goddess.
The second one was a middle-aged man with only one eye and a centipede-shaped scar at the corner of his eye, which was quite terrifying.
This man’s name was Mu Sen, born in the Amazon Rainforest and raised by a she-wolf. From his childhood, he was familiar with flora, and he could even blend and camouflage himself according to the color of the plants, excelling in ambush and assassination, hence he had another nickname: Chameleon!
The third one was a Huaxia man, around his forties or fifties, with hair standing on end as if struck by lightning.
Speaking of this person’s reputation, he was perhaps the most famous among these three giants of Hongmen; he was the Thunderbolt Dharma King, Yang Yongxin.
When Yang Yongxin was a child, he made a bet with classmates to fly kites in a thunderstorm and was struck by lightning.
However, not only did he not turn into charred ash, but he was also blessed in disguise. Since then, he acquired divine lightning skills. Like the nuclear bomb infantry in the game Red Alert, he could release a strong electromagnetic energy to attack the enemy.
Moreover, he had a very famous catchphrase: "No fear of internet addiction, a jolt will do. No fear of disobedience, a jolt will do."
All in all, in his case, there’s nothing that a jolt couldn’t deal with. If there was, then just give two jolts.
After capturing these pieces of information with his thoughts, Li Chen frowned slightly and muttered to himself, "It seems that this climb up Mount Everest is becoming more and more interesting!"
The next day!
Bright sunshine and a light breeze made it a good day for mountain climbing!
Li Chen and Lian Hongshang set off for the ascent and arrived at Camp 2 by noon that day.
Camp 2 was located in a col on the west side of Luozi Peak, with many boulders, a frequent site of avalanches, and because it was not windy, it was also known as Silent Valley. Standing here, one could touch the clouds with an outstretched hand, as if being in the heavenly God Realm.
Jack, Livia, and the other climbers were seasoned mountaineers. Even here, they could cope with ease.
Not to mention Li Chen and Lian Hongshang—if they had been familiar with the area, they might have already left the main force and reached the summit earlier.
Continuing to climb upwards was the Third Camp, situated at an altitude of 7500 meters. The path leading up to this segment was extremely difficult, requiring climbers to navigate steep, dizzying ice walls. A slight mistake could lead to a fall into the valley, burying oneself there forever.
Moreover, the location of this camp was extremely steep, like an eagle’s nest, a frequent spot for avalanches and not an ideal place to camp overnight.
After a brief discussion, Jack and the others decided to take a short rest to replenish their strength before continuing the ascent to spend the night at Camp No.4, which is located at an altitude of 7950 meters.
Camp No.4 is also known as the Death Forbidden Land, where the oxygen is extremely thin. Most climbers can only stay here for two or three days, waiting for the opportunity to reach the summit. If a blizzard hits, they must return immediately the same way they came. Otherwise, a slight mishap could put their lives in danger.
Jack, Livia, and the others reached Camp No.4 as nightfall had completely set in. Fires can’t be lit here, so they could only eat high-energy foods like compressed biscuits.
These seasoned mountaineers, after a day of climbing glaciers and cliffs, were all panting with exhaustion. However, when looking at the younger climbers Li Chen and Lian Hongshang, it was as if everything was normal for them. Their faces weren’t red, they weren’t out of breath and they were even able to chat and laugh. This surprised and astonished Jack and Livia.
Everyone was very tired that day and went back to their own tents to rest.
However, Li Chen was wide awake, and the closer he got to the summit, the stronger the two auras he had detected before became.
It seems they were also on the other side of the mountain, looking for the chance to summit!
Sensing this, Li Chen felt that something was not right. After a moment’s hesitation, he went straight into Lian Hongshang’s tent.
Lian Hongshang was startled as Li Chen barged in unexpectedly.
She immediately rounded her eyes and scolded, "Why are you in my tent? Get out!"
Li Chen curled his lips and said, "There’s something important to discuss with you!"
Seeing that he looked serious and was not joking, Lian Hongshang nodded slightly and asked, "What is it?"
Li Chen pointed to the peak and said, "Apart from us, there are others eyeing the thousand-year-old snow lotus!"
Lian Hongshang’s heart skipped a beat, and she quickly asked, "Who?"
Li Chen shook his head and replied, "Not sure yet, but there seem to be two groups, both quite strong!"
After thinking for a moment, Lian Hongshang asked, "So what’s your opinion?"
Li Chen shook his head and said, "No opinion, we’ll play it by ear!"
Lian Hongshang asked, "Is that all?"
Li Chen nodded: "That’s all."
Lian Hongshang lifted the tent flap, her eyebrows inverted, eyes rounded, and she scolded, "Since you’re done, get out!"
Li Chen had a speechless look on his face as he reluctantly crawled out of Lian Hongshang’s tent.
Just then, he suddenly saw Livia poking her little head out and giving him a mischievous grin.
"Li Chen, sneaking into a girl’s tent and getting kicked out, huh?"
Li Chen rolled his eyes, not bothering to engage with her.
Livia pointed to her own tent, with a sly and playful smile, and spoke flirtatiously, "My tent is warm, do you want to come in for the night?"
