Rebirth: Pampered by My Children and Husband-Chapter 269 - : Returning to 20 Years Ago (4)
Chapter 269: Chapter 269: Returning to 20 Years Ago (4)
“Mama wants some water,” Ji Tingyang bolted to fetch Lin Xu a glass of water with great enthusiasm.
But he was in such a hurry that some of the water spilled from the glass.
“There we go, thank you, baby,” Lin Xu set the glass aside and took out a tissue to wipe his hand.
A blush slowly crept onto Ji Tingyang’s little face, his lips curving slightly upwards revealing a hint of shyness.
Seeing this, Ji Zeqiu stopped munching on the little snack biscuit in his mouth and handed the rest of the biscuits to Lin Xu, “Mama’s hungry, eat a biscuit.”
Ever since they’d returned from school, the two children had been especially eager to help, worrying that she was too tired. They massaged her calves and poured her water.
Perhaps it was because they had been scared during Lin Xu’s car accident; they had become much better behaved than before.
“Dinner is just a few minutes away. Save the biscuits for later when Mama is hungry,” Lin Xu took the biscuits and placed them aside.
Ji Zeqiu clutched his clothes, hesitantly glancing at her repeatedly.
“What’s wrong?” Lin Xu picked him up onto her lap, wiping away the biscuit crumbs from the corners of his mouth.
Ji Zeqiu reminded her quietly, “Mama, you haven’t said ‘thank you, baby’ to me.”
He wanted to hear Mama call him her baby too.
His lips puckered, and he looked up at Lin Xu with a hint of grievance.
Lin Xu couldn’t help but laugh, kissing his cheek, “Thank you, baby.”
Ji Zeqiu’s eyes instantly crinkled into slits, his cheeks covered with his hands, his eyes sparkling with immense joy.
Just then, Tang Biquin came out of the kitchen carrying food, calling out, “Dinner’s ready!”
Lin Xu put Ji Zeqiu down and went to pick up a pair of chopsticks to grab a piece of crispy pork. The familiar flavor enveloped her taste buds, and a wave of nostalgia suddenly surged in her heart.
It had been a long time since she had eaten her mother’s cooking.
Just as she was about to continue eating, Tang Biquin disdainfully slapped the back of her hand, “Go wash your hands first.”
“The dish you made smells so good, I couldn’t wait to have a taste,” Lin Xu said with a smile in her eyes that held a touch of mischief, then turned to call the children over to wash their hands together.
Ji Tingyang was still lecturing Ji Zeqiu with a stern face, “You’re in school now, a big kid, you can’t let Mama kiss you anymore.”
“But Mama said I’ll always be a little kid in her heart,” Ji Zeqiu replied.
“Even so, you’re a big kid now.”
“Brother, do you also want Mama to kiss you?” Ji Zeqiu asked incisively.
“I do not! I’m a good kid, and I don’t need kisses!” Ji Tingyang retorted with a flushed face.
Lin Xu walked over and kissed Ji Tingyang’s cheek, “Are you sure you don’t want a kiss from Mama?”
Ji Tingyang’s cheeks burned even redder, his previously forceful retorts turning hesitant and faltering.
Lin Xu laughed, looking at his bashful little cheeks, feeling that the difference between their personalities now and when they’d be grown up was stark.
When Ji Tingyang was little, he always acted so grown-up and didn’t like to be clingy, but as he grew older he became so needy, not even comfortable with her going out.
While Ji Zeqiu as a child was all about hugs and kisses, and loved to be pampered, but grew up to be so aloof.
“Alright, let’s go wash our hands and eat. After dinner, we’ll go visit Dad at the hospital,” Lin Xu patted both of their heads, smiling.
“Yeah, let’s go see Dad!” Ji Zeqiu immediately ran into the bathroom.
Ji Tingyang also headed into the bathroom.
During dinner, Tang Biquin loaded Lin Xu’s plate with plenty of dishes, urging her to eat more to bolster her health, then she also served the two children a few slices of crispy vegetables and meat.

Ji Zeqiu frowned, using a pair of children’s training chopsticks to pick out the green vegetables from his bowl and put them into Ji Tingyang’s bowl.
“Ji Zeqiu, no picky eating!” Lin Xu scolded with a stern face.
Ji Zeqiu pouted, looking as if he was about to cry.
“If the child doesn’t want to eat, then don’t force him. Why berate him? Let’s eat more meat,” Tang Biquin suggested.
“Mom, we can’t keep indulging him like this. He is still growing, and what if he ends up malnourished because of his pickiness?” Lin Xu put the vegetables back into his bowl, insisting he finish them all.
Seeing that acting spoiled was useless, Ji Zeqiu reluctantly ate all of the green vegetables, finally muttering under his breath, “Mommy is a meanie.”
Seated beside him, Ji Tingyang glared at him furiously upon hearing that, “Don’t say bad things about Mommy, or she won’t hug you anymore.”
“Brother is a meanie too,” Ji Zeqiu cried.
After dinner, the sky outside had already turned dark.
Lin Xu held both of the brothers’ hands as they walked towards Ji Yanli’s hospital room, “When we see Daddy later, no fussing, no crying, and don’t disturb Daddy’s rest, understand?”
“Understood,” Ji Tingyang replied very quickly.
Ji Zeqiu didn’t answer but instead looked up and asked her, “When will Daddy wake up?”
Lin Xu choked up, her emotions visibly sinking, “I don’t know…”
Could it be like before, spending all day…
Ji Tingyang raised his little hand as if to cover Ji Zeqiu’s mouth, “You made Mama cry, no talking.”
Ji Zeqiu immediately became anxious, hugging her leg to comfort her, “Don’t be sad, Mommy, Daddy will definitely wake up soon.”
Lin Xu nodded, only to see a nurse rush out of the hospital room in a fluster.
A chill ran through her as she hurried over, “What happened?”
Could it be that something happened to Ji Yanli?
The nurse was somewhat excited, “No, it’s Mr. Ji, he woke up!”
Lin Xu was stunned for a moment and before she could come to her senses, the two children had rushed into the hospital room, joyfully shouting “Daddy.”
Ji Yanli woke up, and she was happy.
But as she entered the hospital room, she also started to feel a bit apprehensive.
She didn’t know if the man who had just awakened was Ji Yanli from twenty years ago, or Xie Changyan who had been reborn with her twenty years later.
But the two children did not have as many thoughts as she did, their little heads fixed on the man lying in the hospital bed.
“Daddy, you’ve slept for so long, I missed you so much wah wah wah…” Ji Zeqiu’s eyes reddened again, looking pitifully at him.
“I missed you too,” Ji Tingyang’s voice was soft, but the man heard it.
He reached out to touch both of the brothers’ heads, a raspy, light laugh escaping his throat, “Am I dreaming, how did I become a child again?”
