Gu Shishi remained silent, fearing to give a response to Gu Leng. She hated to admit it, but she still found him a little scary.

Xin Yan’s company has been rising rapidly. Just a day ago, they got a government offer to build the city’s memorial hall. This hall would be where the late men would be honored.

It was such a huge deal for Xin Yan. For others, the money was worth it, but for Xin Yan who loved dignity more than any other, she was satisfied with this job.

Xin Yan was satisfied that the government found her worthy to be able to take on such a project, and when the project was announced, it put her in the public eye.

Xin Yan kept quiet for a while observing his every move. She was aware of his real identity, perhaps, if Wu Tang had not informed her about it, she would be in doubt, and could also risk being in danger.

"Do you think you can hide for long?" Xin Yan suddenly asked, breaking the silence in the office.

Bai Si paused, swallowed, before he carefully raised his head to look at Xin Yan.

"I do not understand what President Xin is trying to say," Bai Si pretended to play dumb.

"Don’t play dumb with me, you must have seen the news, Wu Tang and Li Qiang should have settled their differences, and since they have, there is no need for you again, why do you still need to pretend, Wu Tang personally told me you are Yuan Renshu, and I would have guessed it anyway," Xin Yan was in a bad mood as she explained to him.

Bai Si involuntarily shook as he took a step back.

Of course, he had seen the news. It was a video clip from yesterday’s birthday party, and it indicated that both men were seated at the same table, and there was no tension whatsoever between them.

He subconsciously shook his head. He dared not look down on Xin Yan, time and time again, she has proved her capabilities, and anyone who schemed against her would face a terrible ending.

Yuan Renshu observed the girl. She was seated on the President’s seat, while he served her. This showed the difference in his status and hers, it was such a vast difference.

He began to wonder what led her to change, but no matter how hard he racked his brain, he could not get the answer. Perhaps, he was destined to die without knowing the truth.

Xin Yan had stopped speaking when she noticed Yuan Renshu was absent-minded.

"Good of you to not look down on me, that was the biggest mistake you and Jiang Lanfen made, but regardless, finding out about Shi Bei’s existence is just a piece of cake for me, after all, everyone in the Capital is aware of her existence," Xin Yan stated with a meaningful smile.

Yuan Renshu’s entire body tensed up. If what Xin Yan was saying was true, then it meant that Shi Bei was not safe at all. He swallows, his unborn child would be harmed if his enemies get their hands on Shi Bei.

"I know Mr. Yuan is smart, he will definitely do the right thing, alright you may leave, I still have a lot to attend to," Xin Yan waved her arms, dismissing him at once.

A smile appeared on Xin Yan’s face when he exited the office. She did not know if Wu Tang and Li Qiang would work things out, though she was 70% sure, but she had to take extra caution.

Her words were not wrong, if Shi Bei was discovered by Yuan Renshu’s enemies as he made countless enemies in the business world, then it was over for her and the baby.

She had to use threatening words to force Yuan Renshu to retreat, and at the same time, she had some pity for the mother and the unborn child.

Xin Yan looked at the closed door with a profound look. For some reason, she felt that although the Capital was calm, there was probably going to be a storm coming.

Her fingers tensed, her intuition has always been on point, and she became worried. Her eyelashes drooped, a testament of the worry she felt.

Yuan Renshu who was out of the office heaved a sigh. His fingers curled around each other as he paced around. He was at a loss of what to do.

If he went out this way, Shi Bei might not believe him because he had his face changed. He was confused, but currently, the best thing for him to do was to save her, or else, she could end up dying, alongside his child.

He thought for a moment before he decisively walked out of the company. His child was important. If Shi Bei was not pregnant with his child, he couldn’t care less, after all, he did not really have feelings for her, but the presence of a child was a massive variable.

Xin Yan walked to the window when she realized she could not concentrate on the files anymore, her focus had been lost, and she noticed Yuan Renshu left the company.

A smile tugged at the corner of her lips. This was within her expectations. Yuan Renshu was a selfish person, this was the reason he could trick Xin Yan in her past life, but now she has finally gotten her revenge.

She could feel at peace, but there was a lingering fear, a fear that something could go wrong anytime soon.

Yuan Renshu took a taxi to the apartment he had gotten for Shi Bei to stay in before he decided to work for Wu Tang, and underwent the surgery.

He sighed, she could not recognize him with this face of his, but he hoped she could recognize his voice.

After all, when he was about to work for Xin Yan under Wu Tang’s orders, he was ordered to alter his voice slightly, but that did not mean he could not speak with his normal voice.

He knocked on the apartment door, and he heard a low, ’who is it?’

Yuan Renshu sighed, before he responded, "Yuan Renshu."

A few minutes later, he was pulled into the apartment, with Shi Bei staring at him warily. She obviously didn’t believe him, as he had his face changed.

Yuan Renshu sighed, he was aware something like that would happen.
