Rebirth: The Heiress Plans Her Revenge-Chapter 57: Li Qiang Doesn’t Care.
Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Li Qiang Doesn’t Care.
Tang Mei patiently waited three hours. Even if she was incredibly stupid at times, she could detect that something was off.
A meeting could not last more than three hours, could it? She was becoming increasingly impatient.
"What could possibly be keeping him? Do people take three hours to run a meeting?" She wondered aloud as she paced around the office, biting her fingers, a habit she would grown to enjoy.
She could not take it anymore and left the office. Fortunately, Li Qiang was thoughtful enough to leave the door open in case she became tired.
She unexpectedly encountered a director she recognized and quickly waved to her.
"Manager Wei, it has been a long time; thank you for your assistance while I was still abroad; it means a lot," Tang Mei expressed gratitude to the lady who appeared to be forty.
"Tang Mei, what a pleasant surprise; I had no idea you were back, what are you doing here?" Manager Wei expressed her surprise at having to see her.
"I am here to meet with LI Qiang, but it appears he is busy with the directors; why are not you there?" Tang MEi inquired with curiosity.
"Meeting? I do not think we have a meeting today; all of the shareholders are in their respective offices; I think you are mistaken," Manager Wei said confidently.
Tang Mei frowned instantly. She wanted to argue, but her confident expression convinced her otherwise.
’What if she were telling the truth? Does this imply that Li Qiang played me? She mused to herself as she forced a smile on her face.
"I probably got it wrong back then," she said, smiling and nodding.
"Yes, that could be the case; okay, I have to hurry," Manager said goodbye before leaving.
"Darn it, he played me," she exclaimed loudly. Fortunately, no one was around her, or her image of being the ideal heiress would have crumbled.
She stormed out of the company, irritated. She posed numerous questions to herself, including:
Why could not he be in love with her?
What made him dislike her so much?
Why could he not like her?
She burst into tears while sitting in her car. She had loved him for many years, but he treated her poorly and did not reciprocate her love. She sacrificed her youth to be compatible with him.
She left her family and friends to study the same course he did in a foreign country; why could not he see her feelings for him? Although she was exhausted, she refused to give up.
"Li Qiang, you will love me; I do not care how it happens, but I must have your love," she vowed, her eyes crazed.
She would get him, hook or crook, even if her name was not Tang Mei.
The person she adored was already preparing to travel up to meet his family. He had forgotten about her because he felt she was unnecessary in his life.
"President, it appears Miss Tang has already returned home," Gao Yang informed him, and he let out a ’oh!’.
He clearly did not care about it.
"I am not concerned; I just want to go home," Li Qiang said, his face filled with love, while Gao Yang nodded in agreement.
His president, who had never left the office early, was now leaving before work ended. It did not take a soothsayer to figure out that this was due to his marriage.
"Alright, President, I will complete everything," Gao Yang said, referring to what they had discussed while working.
"I will be going to my wife’s company; would you like to accompany me?" Li Qiang asked.
Gao Yang was completely speechless.
Gao Yang thought to himself, "The President is a goner, he is henpecked."
Gao Yang was about to refuse, but Chen Wenling’s face came to mind, and he found himself nodding even though he did not want to.
"Then let us go," he said as they both exited the office.
*Xin Corp*
Xin Yan did not visit the site today. She had a video conference with the site engineer and they talked about how the supermarket would operate.
Li Chuxi was composed as she sat in her mother’s office and looked around. Chen Wenling was ecstatic when she learned that Xin Yan and Li Qiang had adopted her.
"Aunt Wenling, Is my mother always this busy?" Li Chuxi inquired as she observed Xin Yan sign various papers.
Chen Wenling sighed and looked in the direction of Xin Yan. Even though she was busy, she made sure to look after Li Chuxi.
"Yes, she is always this busy," Chen Wenling explained.
"Then I want to grow up quickly so that I can assist my mother in the office," Li Chuxi said with an innocent smile.
"Good girl," Chen Wenling said, ruffling her hair slightly and smiling cutely.
Knock! Xin Yan became distracted when he heard a knock at the door.
She looked at Chen Wenling, who had rushed to open the door. She was taken aback when she saw who was standing at the door.
"President Li?" She yelled out in surprise.
Xin Yan and Li Chuxi’s ears perked up when they heard Chen Wenling’s exclamation.
"Daddy," Li Chuxi rushed into Li Qiang’s embrace, which he returned, shocking Gao Yang.
"Daddy?" he exclaimed in surprise.
"Yes, Li Chuxi is President Li and President Xin’s child; we met her yesterday and they decided to adopt her," Chen Wenling informed him.
"This is surprising," Gao Yang said, staring at the lovely moment between father and daughter.
"You are here; I was not expecting you," Xin Yan said, pursed lips slightly.
"Hmm, I am here to pick you both up," he explained, and she nodded in agreement.
"Daddy, I had a good time today; Aunt Wenling is a wonderful person...eh, who is this?" Li Chuxi had only just noticed Gao Yang.
"My name is Gao Yang, and I am your father’s assistant," he introduced himself, and she smiled back.
"This means you are just like Aunt Wenling; I will call you Uncle Yang," she said, and he smiled.
"You and Aunt Wenling are meant for each other; you are both my parents’ assistants; I will be waiting for your wedding," Li Chuxi innocently stated.
Cough! Both Chen Wenling and Gao Yang coughed as they stared at the little girl in shock.
