"You did what?" She asked, the shock still evident in her eyes.

"I played with them a little, but in my defense, they were already in the wrong, and it was only a matter of time before they were exposed for their deeds, I only helped accelerate the process," Li Qiang immediately explained to her.

She nodded with a look of understanding before frowning, "what did they do?" She asked, the question was critical.

"Evasion of taxes, bribery, use of substandard materials for building, just to mention a few," he replied to her, and she shook her head with a disappointed look.

"How do you plan to deal with her?" Li Qiang asked her.

Her brows furrowed deeply as she thought about what she wanted to.

"Taking over the company seems feasible? After all, the company was funded with my money," Xin Yan said with an innocent smile, and he nodded, satisfied with her answer.

"We really think alike, don’t we?" He said, and she raised her eyebrows in response, not quite understanding what he meant.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"I also had plans to acquire the company in your name and I have already begun works on it, you just helped further my plans," he explained to her, and she let out an ’oh!’

"I was not expecting you to have planned it out this way, thank you so much," she thanked him genuinely, and he gave her a smile, glad that they were both on the same page.

*Zhang’s Mansion*

The Zhang couple accompanied by Xin Yi and Cheng Luiying arrived home.

Mrs. Zhang stayed with Cheng Luiying all the time. She would rather not let go of her, as she stuck to her like she was a glue.

Xin Yi looked at the woman who had quickly monopolized his wife, and he felt a bit disgruntled.

He only hoped they will not ask him to separate from her. But that does not seem feasible. After all, in terms of power, his family was ranked higher than theirs.

And he also loved Cheng Luiying wholeheartedly. Looking at the expression on his face, he seemed to understand what Mr. Zhang required from him. He needed him to prove himself and that was what he will to do.

"Since you are a member of the Zhang Family, it is only right for you to change your surname," Mrs. Zhang looked at Cheng Luiying tentatively, she only hoped she had not said something which might have offended her.

After all, she had been addressed with that surname for all her life. Telling her to change it was akin to telling her to change her identity, but that was the case here, her identity was changed from birth, and it was only appropriate to correct it.

All eyes turned to look at Cheng Luiying after Mrs. Zhang proposition. There were varieties of emotions on the couple’s face such as nervousness, anxiety, and fear. But for Xin Yi, he knew what her answer would be.

Cheng Luiying stared at her newfound parents and she had conflicting emotions. She could sense the nervousness they felt and how they hoped for her to agree, but she was confused.

On one hand, she was glad to not be related to the Cheng Family but changing her surname might not be something she was ready to do.

It all seemed fast-paced and in a rush, and she had no idea as to how she was to react.

She turned to look at Xin Yi, who nodded. In all, she was grateful for Xin Yi. He had always been her backbone, and he had helped her a lot.

Even in this, he could still tell what she was thinking just by staring at his face. She was glad they had reconciled.

They were both disappointed, but they could not force their choice on her.
