Rebirth: The New Bride Wants A Divorce-Chapter 291: Something you would remember
"Daniel..." she whispered, though she did not know what she wanted to say next.
He stepped closer, close enough that she could feel the heat radiating from his body. His hand trailed down from her cheek to her jaw, then rested lightly at the base of her neck. Anna inhaled sharply, her breath catching as her eyes fluttered up to his.
"I thought about you all day," he admitted softly. "And it felt unbearable not to see you. Not to hold you."
Her lips parted, her chest tightening with a rush of emotion she had not expected to feel tonight.
Daniel’s thumb caressed her cheek, slow and searching. "Tell me to stop if this is too much."
Instead, she stepped closer on her own, her hands rising to rest against his chest. She could feel his heartbeat—strong, steady, but faster than usual.
"Do not stop," Anna breathed.
Daniel’s expression changed instantly.
His hand slid around her waist, pulling her gently against him. The warmth of his touch seeped into her skin, drawing a soft sigh from her lips. He leaned down, his forehead brushing hers as their breaths mingled, warm and unsteady.
"Anna," he murmured, her name shaped like something he had been waiting to say all night.
Her hands traveled slowly up his chest, curling around his shoulders. He dipped his head, his nose brushing hers in a feather light touch that sent a shiver through her entire body.
"Daniel..." she whispered, her voice trembling with anticipation.
He tilted her chin up with a gentle touch, his eyes lowering to her lips.
"Let me kiss you," he said, almost in a plea.
Anna nodded, her breath breaking.
Daniel closed the remaining space and pressed his lips to hers.
The kiss started soft, almost reverent, as if he feared she might break beneath him. Anna responded with a quiet gasp, her fingers tightening against his shoulders. That small sound unravelled him. His grip on her waist tightened, pulling her closer, deepening the kiss with a tenderness that surprised even him.
Anna melted against him, her hands sliding to the back of his neck. The world around them quieted, leaving only the scent of night air, the warmth of his mouth, and the steady rise and fall of their breaths entangled.
When he finally parted from her, it was only to rest his forehead against hers again, both of them struggling for breath.
"Stay with me tonight," Daniel whispered.
Anna felt her heart swell, her answer forming before she even thought it through.
"Yes."
Daniel’s arm wrapped around her waist again, this time with a certainty that made her feel claimed and cherished all at once.
And hand in hand, he led her back toward the softly lit house.

Anna followed Daniel up the final flight of stairs, her hand held securely in his. She expected a simple rooftop view, maybe a quiet moment under the stars. Instead, the second he pushed open the wooden door leading outside, she stopped in her tracks.
Her breath caught.
The rooftop had been transformed into something out of a dream.
Soft butterfly shaped lights floated above them like glowing fireflies caught in a gentle dance, casting a warm golden shimmer across the space. A delicate pathway of rose petals trailed from the doorway to the very center of the rooftop where a beautiful tent bed had been set up.
The tent itself was draped with sheer white curtains that fluttered softly in the evening breeze. Inside, plush cushions and thick blankets layered the mattress, giving it an inviting, almost magical appeal. Candles flickered all around the space, their tiny flames creating a constellation of warm light that made the entire rooftop glow like a hidden sanctuary. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Anna’s heart skipped a beat. Then another.
This was not just beautiful. It was thoughtful.Intentional.Intimate.
She stepped forward slowly, her heels crunching lightly against scattered petals. Her eyes swept across every detail: the lanterns arranged at the edges of the rooftop, the soft music playing from a speaker she hadn’t noticed before, the open night sky above them painted with stars.
"Daniel..." she whispered, unable to form anything more.
He watched her quietly, as if her reaction was the only thing he cared about. "Do you like it?"
Her eyes shimmered as she turned to him. "You did all of this?"
"Yes," he said simply.
"For me?"
He stepped closer, his fingers brushing her cheek with a gentle intensity. "For us."
Her pulse fluttered wildly.
Daniel guided her toward the tent bed. Every candle seemed to sway with the wind, their flames reflecting in his eyes. The rose petals scattered across the mattress told a story she hadn’t prepared for, yet one she found herself wanting to read.
Anna sat at the edge of the bed, her fingers touching the soft fabric beneath her. Daniel lowered himself beside her, his presence warm, his gaze tender.
The breeze lifted a few strands of her hair, and Daniel reached out, tucking them behind her ear with uncharacteristic delicacy.
"I wanted tonight to feel special," he murmured. "Something you would remember."
"I already will," she replied softly.
He watched her for a moment longer, his expression shifting from controlled calm to something more vulnerable, more open. Then he leaned in, not to kiss her yet, but to rest his forehead lightly against hers.
Anna closed her eyes, breathing him in. The faint scent of his cologne mixed with the night air and roses, creating a moment so perfect she almost wondered if she was dreaming.
Daniel’s hand slid down to hers, their fingers intertwining naturally. "Anna," he whispered, as if saying her name grounded him. "I have wanted this... wanted you... longer than you know."
She opened her eyes slowly, meeting the sincerity in his gaze.
"Then show me," she whispered back, her voice trembling in the sweetest way.
His breath hitched.
He cupped her face with both hands, his thumbs brushing lightly against her skin. Then he kissed her again—slow, warm, and deeper than before. The world around them blurred, leaving only the soft glow of candles, the twinkling lights above, and the steady thrum of their hearts.
Anna leaned into him, her hands sliding to his chest, feeling the rhythm of his breath. Daniel pulled her gently into his arms, her back pressed against the cloud like pillows inside the tent as he deepened the kiss with a tenderness that melted her completely.
Outside, the night stretched vast and quiet, the stars shimmering as if blessing the moment.
Inside the tent, surrounded by candlelight and rose petals, Daniel and Anna held each other, wrapped in warmth, sincerity, and the fragile beginning of something real.
