Rebirth: The New Bride Wants A Divorce-Chapter 311: I am jealous
Fiona’s lips pressed into a thin line. "Unavailable for half an hour?"
"For the foreseeable future," Henry corrected calmly.
Her eyes narrowed. "Doing what exactly?"
Henry smiled again, this time far too pleasantly. "Working."
"On what?"
"Company matters," he replied without hesitation.
Fiona scoffed. "You expect me to believe that?"
"I expect you to accept it," Henry said, his tone still polite but unmistakably firm.
For a brief moment, the two stared at each other, neither willing to yield. Fiona straightened her posture, clearly preparing to push past him.
Henry stepped sideways, blocking her path with effortless precision.
"I’m afraid I’ll have to insist," he added lightly, "that you leave the premises. Mr. Clafford will not be meeting anyone today."
Fiona’s jaw clenched. "You’re crossing a line, Henry."
"On the contrary," he replied smoothly, "I’m guarding it."
The silence between them stretched, thick with unspoken threats.
Henry, however, looked completely unbothered.
And Fiona realized, with growing irritation, that for once, she wasn’t the one in control.
"Then I might as well decline your suggestion. I won’t leave until I meet Daniel" Fiona announced without backing down.
She was adamant to speak to Daniel and clear the problem. But when she noticed Henry nod, her expression twisted.
"As you wish Miss Fiona" with that he turned on his heels walked away.

Back inside the office, Daniel was barely clinging to his restraint, every instinct screaming at him to shut the laptop and pull Anna away from the table.
But he could not allow the foreign delegates to witness even a crack in his composure. This was his boardroom, his battlefield, and the woman testing him now was his wife, far too aware of the effect she had as her fingers toyed with the buckle of his pants.
Daniel shifted in his chair, his jaw tightening as one hand curled into a fist against the table. With the other, he loosened his tie, the fabric suddenly suffocating. He cleared his throat, hoping the sound masked the sharp intake of breath that escaped him the moment Anna slid his zipper down.
Daniel had always been observant, always in control. Yet his visible discomfort drew concerned looks from the faces on the screen. A few brows furrowed, voices faltering mid sentence, but still the couldn’t bring themselves to ask.
’Still not giving up,’ Anna thought, narrowing her eyes at his effort to maintain control. The sight only fueled her mischief, her lips curving in quiet satisfaction.
She eased his pants lower, her movements unhurried and deliberate. Her fingers wrapped around him, already hard and demanding, but this time she denied him relief.
Instead, she leaned in, pressing a soft kiss against him through the fabric, making his breath hitch violently. Before he could steel himself, she took him into her mouth, slow and unmerciful.
Daniel’s body betrayed him instantly. Heat spread through his veins as sweat gathered at his temples, his breathing turning ragged despite his desperate attempt to appear composed.
His fingers dug into the edge of the table, knuckles whitening as she swallowed him completely, leaving him fighting not just the moment, but the very thin line between power and surrender.
Anna chuckled softly when she caught the darkening look in Daniel’s eyes from beneath the table. The more she tested him, the more she felt his iron control begin to fracture, each slow movement drawing a sharper reaction from him.
Daniel’s breath hitched despite his rigid posture. His gaze flicked to the screen where the delegates continued speaking, unaware, while his fingers dug into the edge of the table as though anchoring himself there might restore his composure. His jaw flexed, a warning meant only for her, but Anna merely smiled, emboldened by the way his restraint was slipping through his fingers.
He tried to refocus, murmuring a response to the discussion, but his voice wavered just enough to betray him. A few concerned looks appeared on the screen again, and Daniel knew he was losing the battle.
"Gentlemen," he said suddenly, his tone sharper than before, final. "We will resume this discussion later."
Before anyone could object, the screen went dark. The room fell silent, heavy and charged.
Daniel exhaled roughly, all pretense collapsing as he looked down at his wife, the last shred of control leaving him. Anna’s triumphant smile was the final undoing.
In the privacy of the closed office, the powerful man who had held an entire room in check finally surrendered to the woman who knew exactly how to make him come undone.
"Time’s up, wifey," Daniel announced, the darkness in his eyes so sudden and fierce that Anna gulped.
Moments ago she had been reveling in teasing him, confident in her advantage. Now the balance had shifted, and she realized she had stirred something dangerous, something that would not be denied.
Daniel moved fast. The table scraped forward as he caught her wrist and pulled her out, turning her in one fluid motion.
Anna’s breath left her as she was pinned against the edge, the polished surface cold beneath her palms, her skirt sliding up with the abrupt movement.
The room felt smaller, charged, his presence overwhelming. Even in his haste, Daniel’s instincts remained sharp, controlled in the way that mattered. He leaned in, his voice low against her ear, rough with restraint barely holding.
What followed was urgent and consuming, all heat and need, Daniel claiming her attention completely as the office disappeared around them.
Anna’s earlier laughter dissolved into a gasp, her fingers clutching the table as the man she had provoked finally took back control, leaving no doubt that the game had always been his to end.
By the time Daniel finally eased back, Anna’s legs had long since given up on her. He steadied her without a word, carefully helping her smooth her skirt before lifting her with an ease that still stole her breath. He set her on the edge of the table, grounding her there as if he were afraid she might disappear if he let go.
"Why be so naughty, wifey?" Daniel murmured, resting his forehead against hers. His earlier darkness had softened into something deeper, more searching. One of his fingers reached up, gently tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, the tenderness at odds with the storm that had just passed.
Daniel was not foolish enough to believe this was only about longing. Anna missed him, yes, but she was never impulsive about it. She would text him, tease him, or wait patiently at home. She would not storm into his workplace like this without a reason. The realization sharpened his gaze.
Anna bit down on her lower lip, suddenly shy beneath his scrutiny. She turned her face away, but Daniel caught her chin, guiding her back until she had no choice but to meet his eyes.
"Now you’re shy?" he asked quietly.
Her chest tightened, the weight of it pressing down on her. She hated how easily he could read her, hated even more that she could not lie to him now. How could she admit that jealousy had driven her here? That she could not bear the thought of him entertaining the presence of a woman she neither liked nor trusted?
After she had left the wrap up party, Shawn’s call had unsettled her more than she wanted to admit. He had mentioned Fiona, how she had approached the receptionist, how even after being refused, she had chosen to wait anyway. The image had festered in Anna’s mind.
And when she arrived, Henry had confirmed it, almost reluctantly. That had been the final push. The idea had formed then, reckless and bold. If Fiona wanted Daniel’s attention, Anna would make sure there was none left to give.
But what she had not expected was Fiona’s persistence. Even after Henry personally spoke to her, the woman had refused to leave, insisting on meeting Daniel.
Anna swallowed, her fingers curling into Daniel’s shirt as she finally looked up at him, caught between guilt and defiance. Whatever had started as mischief had turned into something else entirely, and Daniel could feel it now, the truth hovering just beneath her silence.
"I am jealous," she admitted, the words leaving her lips before she could take them back.
Daniel froze.
His lips parted slightly, his eyes fixed on her as if she had just spoken a language he had never heard before. For a moment, there was nothing but silence between them, thick and heavy.
This was Anna. The woman who challenged him at every turn, who masked her fears with fire and sarcasm. She had never once laid her insecurities bare before him. Not like this. Not so openly.
And then, slowly, impossibly, a smile spread across his face. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Not the smug one he wore in boardrooms. Not the dangerous one he used to intimidate. This one was soft, almost disbelieving, as though her confession had touched something far deeper than desire.
Anna frowned at the sight.
"...?"
