Rebirth: The New Bride Wants A Divorce-Chapter 345: Let’s meet soon, Anna
The air inside Daniel’s office shifted the moment Norma stepped in. Her sharp eyes pierced through her nephew, missing nothing as they lingered on his conflicted expression.
"You don’t seem happy seeing me, Daniel," she said at last. Her deep voice cut cleanly through the deafening silence.
Henry, standing off to the side, instinctively glanced at Daniel. Norma was supposed to arrive a week later. Her presence now, unannounced and unapologetic, had clearly caught them both off guard.
Daniel held her gaze for a second before looking away, schooling his features into something neutral. When he finally looked back at her, his voice was smooth, almost casual.
"Why wouldn’t I be happy to see you, Aunt Norma?" he replied. "I’m just... surprised. You arrived earlier than planned."
Norma’s lips curved, but there was no warmth in the gesture. She took a few unhurried steps into the room, her heels echoing against the floor as if marking territory.
"Surprised," she repeated thoughtfully. "That’s an interesting choice of word."
Her gaze flicked briefly to Henry, who immediately straightened, suddenly very interested in the wall behind him, before returning to Daniel. The silence stretched again, heavier this time, pressing down on the room.
Daniel remained calm on the surface, but his fingers curled slowly against the desk.
Norma didn’t linger on the tension. Instead, she let her gaze drift around the office, taking in every detail with quiet scrutiny.
"I did plan on visiting next week," she said calmly. "But I wrapped up my work overseas sooner than expected and decided to change my plans. I hope you don’t mind."
Daniel masked his unease well. He had deliberately kept Norma at a distance for as long as he could, fully aware that her presence never came with anything pleasant. Still, he also knew resisting her was pointless. Some things were inevitable.
"It’s not like that, Aunt Norma," he replied evenly. "You can visit me anytime you want."
Her eyes snapped back to him, sharp and assessing, before a smile slowly spread across her face.
"Of course I can," Norma said softly. "After all, you’re my only family, Daniel. Looking after your well being is my responsibility."
Henry, watching from the side, felt a chill crawl down his spine. The smile on her lips was polished and composed, but there was nothing kind about it.
Norma had never been friendly. And the way she was looking at Daniel now made it painfully clear that her sudden visit was far from a simple family call.
"Anyway, I won’t be interrupting your work," Norma said smoothly, though her eyes never softened. "I simply wanted to see you the moment I landed. And I must say, after you denied my calls for so long, I’m quite pleased that I finally managed to meet you."
The faint edge of mockery in her tone snapped Daniel’s attention fully back to her. His jaw tightened, but his expression remained carefully neutral.
"I’ve been busy," he replied coolly. "You know how things are."
Norma’s lips curved again, slow and deliberate. "Of course," she said, as if indulging a child. She rose from her seat, adjusting her coat with unhurried grace. "We’ll talk again soon, Daniel."
She paused at the door, glancing back over her shoulder. "Next time, I’d like to meet your wife."
The words settled heavily in the room.
Without waiting for a response, Norma turned on her heel and walked out, the finality in her stride unmistakable. The door clicked shut behind her, and only then did the tension ease, though the unease she left behind clung stubbornly to the air.
Daniel stayed still for a moment, his fingers slowly unclenching against the desk.
Henry finally exhaled, dragging a hand down his face. "Madam Norma," he muttered, shaking his head, "gives me nightmares."
Daniel’s eyes darkened as he stared at the closed door. He didn’t say a word, but deep down he knew the reason why Norma came.

Meanwhile, a sleek car came to a smooth halt in front of Glorious International. Anna stepped out, adjusting her coat as she made her way inside through the private entrance reserved for very few.
After dealing with Fiona, Anna felt oddly accomplished. One long overdue enemy had been dealt with, and she was certain that after today, Fiona would think at least a hundred times before daring to cross her again.
"But my dear husband," Anna muttered under her breath as she pressed the elevator button, "it’s time for me to confront you."
The elevator doors slid open and she stepped in, her lips curving with mischief.
Initially, she had considered avenging herself by declaring a strict no sex policy for six whole months. But even in her anger, she had a conscience. That would be far too cruel, especially considering the insecurity Daniel had once confided in her about.
So she revised the plan. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Much better to demote him to the guest room for a few hours. Let him suffer. Let him sulk. And then, when he couldn’t take it anymore, let him beg his way back.
Yes. Perfect.
Lost in her very detailed mental torture schedule, Anna barely noticed the elevator reaching the top floor. The doors slid open with a soft chime and she stepped forward—
Only to freeze.
Standing right in front of her was a middle aged woman, tall, composed, and unmistakably authoritative. Definitely not Daniel. Definitely not Henry.
Anna blinked not once but twice like a malfunctioning robot.
The private elevator. Daniel’s floor. Daniel’s territory.
Her brain short circuited.’Am I... caught?’ panic screamed inside her chest. But the woman before her simply kept staring at her.
"Hehe... I guess I used the wrong elevator," Anna said, forcing a smile as she pretended to be nothing more than a lost employee. "I’m sorry about that."
She stepped out quickly, still smiling, still playing the part, though her heartbeat had begun to race. She expected at least a glance in return. Some acknowledgment.
Norma gave her nothing.
Not a nod. Not a forced smile. She walked past Anna as if she didn’t exist and stepped into the elevator with quiet authority.
The doors were about to close when Norma suddenly turned.
"Let’s meet soon, Anna."
The words hit like a slap.
Anna’s smile froze. Her eyes widened, nearly popping out of their sockets as the realization crashed into her all at once.
She knows my name.
"H How do you—" Anna started, her voice catching as panic and confusion tangled together.
The elevator doors slid shut before she could finish.
Anna stood there, staring at her own reflection in the polished metal, her thoughts spinning wildly.
Who was that woman? And more importantly... How did she know my name?
