Chapter 150: Transformation

Nicholas began to panic when he couldn’t keep up with the speed of whatever monstrosity that had grabbed Luciana and pulled her away.

He had gone down the waters but he couldn’t see her, he swam to the top, but he still couldn’t find her.

’No, no, he must find her; it was just a few days ago that he nearly went crazy because she wouldn’t open her eyes. What kind of messed up fate was this? She had just woken up after being unconscious for days, and now this?’

No! He couldn’t live without her. He would find her and they would return home together, he and Luciana. He just prayed that being underwater for too long wouldn’t affect her health.’

"Luciana, please, hold on and wait for me, I’m coming for you," he inwardly prayed and began to watch his surroundings.

Nicholas carefully searched the water’s surface and realized he could see the waves churning harshly at a particular distance far ahead, an indication that there was movement beneath the surface. He immediately shot his body forward, swimming with all his might.

"Luciana!" His voice thundered against the raging waters that kept swirling and churning due to the serpent’s movement.

The swirling of the water did not make it easy for him, but he pressed on, every fiber of his being screaming at him to keep pushing forward.

All his senses were on high alert as he tried to keep up with the waves, trying to get to her as soon as possible.

"You need me; let me take over; I’ll get to her faster," a voice said within him, and he knew it was the soul of his past self that was still residing in him.

Nick knew this wasn’t the time to be possessive; Luciana needed him, and he needed to get to her as soon as possible.

"Take over," Nick had just given permission to the power within him when he immediately felt something powerful burst within him. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

This time, he didn’t get a total blackout like the previous time; he could still see everything but from a more heightened perspective.

It was as if he was watching everything through the other person’s eyes, and he was currently wielding that person’s power, possessing and owning it as his own.

Nicholas felt overwhelmed by the changes happening within him, but he didn’t dwell on it for long as his main goal was finding Luciana and this time, he realized his eyesight had become better and sharper.

He could see through the dark waters with such clarity as if he was staring into the clearest water and right at that moment, a huge blast echoed through the water causing it to splash with such force that Nicholas’ heart skipped a beat.

"Luciana!" Nicholas yelled in fear and anguish as he spotted them in the distance.

The movement of the snake tossed Luciana back and forth underwater continuously rendering her unable to defend herself. She was in need of air and the warmth of sunlight or the warmth of his body as he pulled her away from her struggles in this endless torture into his strong arms.

But no one came to her rescue, and she knew she must fight back herself, she must fight, and so she decided to fight.

Her strong will to fight overwhelmed her, causing a surge of fire to rise up within her, churning through her body with such strength and force that when she pressed her palms against the skin of the snake that had wrapped around her waist to push it off her, a harsh fire gushed out from her palms causing a large blast to happen under the water.

The snake immediately let go of her but Luciana, who didn’t know how to control her power, felt the ripple effect of the magic as it hit her with such force that it knocked her out right away.

Everything went black and her unconscious body began to sink deeper into the dark waters.

Harriet had just used 10% of her power to turn into a snake, so against that raging blast from Luciana, she felt like all her strength was leaving her body and reducing her strength to that of a normal python.

She should have been angry that Luciana used that kind of power on her, rendering her weak but she recognized that magic. It was a special magic that was passed down from generation to generation through the Fire Dragon clan.

She had personally taught it to her daughter 2000 years ago.

The probability that the soul of her daughter was alive and well and living in this girl she had tried to kill began to plague her thoughts and for the first time, Harriet decided to do something out of character.

Her snake form plunged deeper into the water to retrieve her daughter’s sinking body. Harriet thought she would never forgive herself if she hurt her daughter.

Nicholas began to think of how best to rip that serpent apart for touching what belonged to him and as if his body was listening to his thoughts, he felt his body going through a transformation.

His bones felt like they were opening up, spreading out, and rearranging themselves.

Then he realized his sight had become even sharper, his size had increased by the loud splash that sounded as he moved slightly, and he felt like his strength had increased a thousandfold; he swiftly moved through the water, feeling as if the lake felt small and cramped compared to its current gigantic body.

His scales glistened in the water as he shot forward and in one swift move, he reached out his hands and grabbed the large snake with ease, its sharp claws digging into its flesh and pressed with such strength that the snake hissed in pain.

Harriet was already weak from Luciana’s attack, but after Nicholas sunk his sharp claws into her skin, she weakened even more.

Harriet had plunged into the water to retrieve the unconscious Luciana but Nicholas had no idea and caused her even more damage.

The scales of the snake had no power against the sharpened claws of a dragon, and in the next moment, the water turned red from the blood of the snake, mirroring the look in the dragon’s bloodshot irises.

The claws of the dragon had sunk into the snake’s flesh with such strength that Harriet immediately let go of the body in its hold, dropping her back into the waters.
