Rebirth: The unfavored Princess is the Tyrant King's favorite-Chapter 49: You belong to me, Luciana!
20 minutes earlier...
"E...El...Eldest Prince, welcome to Pearl Auct..." The gatekeeper did not finish greeting when Nicholas passed by him like a gust of wind. He used his hand to pat his chest after seeing the disappearing figure of the prince.
’Goodness gracious, how could someone’s gaze be so frigid and cause your life to flash before your eyes like that?! He had nearly had a heart attack after seeing the menacing aura that clung to the eldest prince and his deathly glare as if he were the King of the afterlife himself coming for his soul.’
Nicholas pulled a staff member walking in the hallways by his collar and asked authoritatively, 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Which room is registered under the second prince’s name?"
The boy’s eyes widened at seeing the man’s dark gaze that looked like he would kill him instantly if he lied, and he immediately pointed in the direction of the room.
"The one at the end of the hallways, Your Highness," he said, and Nicholas let go of him, causing him to fall limply on the floor in a very sorry state.
Nicholas reached the said room and pushed it open only to find it empty. His mind kept conjuring images of Luciana’s and David’s bodies intertwined in scandalous positions that he didn’t even see Evelyn sitting at the side.
Evelyn heard the door being pushed open and looked up, expecting to find 2nd Prince David and the princess consort returning, but instead saw Nicholas, whose gaze briefly swept past the room before he turned around, about to storm off, and called out.
"Your Highness."
Nicholas froze in his steps and turned to look at who had called him and saw Evelyn getting onto her feet.
"You are here too?" He asked the woman with a probing gaze. In his anguish, he had not even heard Dominic mention Lady Evelyn’s name when he had inquired about Luciana.
Seeing Evelyn was also present alleviated some of his anger, but after he noticed how she was alone in private without Luciana and David, it made his rage return a hundred times stronger.
"Yes, Your Highness, I came to see if I could get something for the empress dowager’s birthday. She is like a mother to me and..."
"Where is Luciana?" Nicholas asked, interrupting Evelyn. He had not even heard a word of what she said, and besides, he wasn’t in the mood to listen to her ramblings.
"The princess consort?" Evelyn asked again as if she didn’t hear Nicholas for the first time.
"Who else do you know apart from her with the same name?" He snapped, sounding irritated. Evelyn nearly jumped at the sound of his voice. Feeling aggrieved, she began to tear up.
Nicholas saw how she looked like he was on the verge of crying and turned to walk away. He wasn’t in the mood to coax a crying Evelyn. He directly went in search of the manager and went straight to the point when he found him.
"Did my brother change rooms? I can’t find him in his private room," he said. Nicholas knew they might not know Luciana’s identity and asked after David instead.
"Oh, the second prince hurt his hand and requested somewhere private to treat his wounds. Please allow me to call for a servant to lead you to him, Your Highness," he said and was about to call someone to take Nicholas there when Nicholas spoke.
"Tell me where he is; I can find it myself."
"If you say so, your highness," the manager said and added.
"When you get to the end of the hallways, you will see another hallway leading to the right. Please follow that corridor and count on the fourth door on your left. The 2nd Prince should be there."
The man who had been bowing finished speaking and raised his gaze only to find that the eldest prince was nowhere in sight. ’Youngsters were indeed so full of energy,’ he thought.
Nicholas’s pace quickened as he made his way to the room the manager spoke about. Due to the poor soundproofing, when he got to the entrance, he was about to push the door open when he heard David’s voice.
"I can help you escape, and no one will find you. I will arrange everything; just trust me..."
He kicked the door open and felt like killing David right there. Luciana was sandwiched between the desk and David’s body; he was all over her, and she wasn’t even protesting.
"You want to escape from me? Keep dreaming," he growled before punching David in the face.
"Nick!" Luciana yelled, her heart about to jump out of her throat when she saw how angry Nicholas was looking. She jumped off the desk and stood between the two brothers, spreading her arms, hoping to make Nicholas calm down and not attack David again.
They were in a public area, and if the both of them fought, rumors would spread through the whole of Gloryland.
Nicholas saw her actions, and his heart shook. The rage boiling within him had now fully erupted like volcanic lava, and he wanted to destroy everything in his path.
"You don’t want me to hurt him?" He sneered.
"Why? Because he’s going to help you escape from me? Then see how I kill him right before your eyes," he snarled, and Luciana’s eyes widened in horror when he effortlessly pulled her away and harshly threw her onto the bed as his hand found the hilt of his sword, an action that showed he was about to unsheathe it.
Even though Luciana felt dizzy from the rough push, with all the strength she could muster, she jumped off the bed and came to stand in front of Nicholas again.
"Please believe me, it’s a misunderstanding; I don’t want to escape. I’m not going anywhere... It’s true," she said.
"I know," he said, and it was Luciana’s turn to stare at him with widened eyes. ’He believed her? Just like that?’ Luciana thought, inwardly surprised.
"You believe me?" She asked, the surprise in her tone evident.
"I don’t have to believe you, Luciana." His tone was filled with a hint of laughter as if he was talking about something funny. It caused a hint of uncertainty to well up in Luciana, especially seeing his almost crazed expression that didn’t match the subtle smirk on his lips.
"I’m going to make sure you do not move an inch without guards closely monitoring your every move, and your every action is reported to me. I will make sure to surround you with guards who will report to me how you breathe, eat, talk, walk, and even report what you think in that little head of yours to me."
"I might even decide that isn’t enough and chain you to my bed, imprison you in my chambers all your life. So tell me, do I need to believe you? I warned you from the start. You belong to me, Luciana!!!"
"You came here yourself to be my bride, and since we are now married, you belong to me! You are not allowed to think of leaving me!" Nicholas declared tyrannically and possessively.
