Chapter 114: Dropping The Fake Persona (2)

Facing the fury of the public and the accusations against the Alliance Army, Yonda could only remain silent; it was indeed the Alliance Army’s mistake this time. But the fact that a space pirate infiltrator still emerged after their internal purge was unexpected and shocking.

Meanwhile, Bartland, who was watching the live broadcast, burst into laughter. He waved at his subordinate, saying, "Go, send another team to Misty Land. I want everyone to witness the tragic end of the Alliance Army’s elite reservists!"

His subordinate nodded and left without a word.

After the live stream viewers had their fill of venting and cursing, they started praying for the safety of the students, hoping they were unharmed.

[Please come back safe!]

Yuka, who was perfectly safe, knew that the Alliance Army would come to the rescue immediately after such a significant incident, so she didn’t need to intervene. But thinking of her classmates who were out of contact, Yuka hesitated for a few seconds before deciding to look around, hoping to casually save a few of them.

Since the incident had occurred, the competition was over, and points wouldn’t matter. Moreover, there was no live broadcast now. She thought that as long as those she saved didn’t reveal her identity, no one would know.

So, it wouldn’t matter even if she exposed a bit more of her abilities.

With that decision, Yuka stepped into the mist.

Just a minute after she left, Kenji, guided by the sounds of gunfire, rushed to Yuka’s previous location with his subordinates.

They found the lifeless body of a space pirate.

Based on the locations of the students before the live stream was cut, Kenji quickly inferred that this was Yuka’s doing.

But Yuka was nowhere to be found. Kenji frowned in concern, ordered his subordinates to dispose of the space pirate’s body, and continued hunting down space pirates while searching for other students.

Meanwhile, Yuka had reached the location of the Gaia Institute’s treasure chest. She figured that since everyone was after the chests, the area around them would have the most people, making it easier to save them.

The chest here had already been taken. The signs of battle around it were clear, with many trees and stones broken.

Yuka followed these traces.

Three minutes earlier...

Shawn, having escaped the pursuit of Number 666, immediately ran towards the location of his academy’s treasure chest. fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm

He spotted the green chest beside a rock and opened it. As he was taking out Oniyon, he felt the barrel of a gun pressed against his back.

Slowly turning his head, Shawn recognized Philip by his number.

They were competitors now, so naturally, Philip was not going to be kind to Shawn. Pushing him with the barrel of his gun, Philip loudly said, "Hand it over, Shawn, and I won’t kill you this time."

Shawn thought for a moment, then pretended to agree with Philip, saying, "Alright, that’s a deal then."

As he slowly stood up, he seized the moment Philip withdrew the gun barrel and suddenly slashed his long knife towards Philip’s mecha’s legs.

Philip stepped back and fired a few shots at Shawn’s sensors.

Shawn quickly used the Oniyon he had just found to shield his cockpit.

Just as Shawn was about to strike Philip’s cockpit sensor, a series of gunshots rang out from behind him. His mecha felt a strong impact on its back.

Shawn quickly rolled on the ground to dodge the incoming bullets.

Philip, thinking his teammates had arrived, waved his hand happily, but he was also hit by a burst of bullets, cracking his cockpit.

Frightened, he quickly rolled into nearby bushes, asking Shawn in surprise, "What’s going on? Aren’t we only supposed to attack the sensors? This person is breaking the rules. Why hasn’t the Alliance Army taken him out?"

Shawn peeked out cautiously and carefully observed the mecha that had attacked them. His expression grew serious. He turned to Philip and said, "There’s something wrong with this mecha."

Philip also sensed something unusual and nodded.

Both of them got up from the bushes and rushed towards the silver mecha.

A minute later, they jointly shattered the cockpit of the silver mecha.

Shawn pulled the pilot out of the cockpit. When they saw the pilot’s face, both Shawn and Philip’s expressions changed, saying in unison, "It’s a space pirate!"

Without further thought, Shawn and Philip decided to flee immediately. But before they could get far, three more mechas emerged from the thick fog, approaching them.

Shawn drew his sword with a serious look, ready to cooperate with Philip to take down the three space pirates. But when he turned around, he found that Philip had already run far away.

Shawn thought, "I can’t rely on this guy. He flees each time facing trouble."

Biting his lip, Shawn had to face the three space pirates alone, but it was too difficult for him to fight against three seasoned space pirates by himself.

He was quickly knocked down and had a mechanical arm removed, becoming like a beef on the pirate’s dinner plate.

Shawn, pale-faced, watched the blade coming down at him, thinking he would probably die here today.

Suddenly, gunfire erupted.

Philip returned, holding a magazine taken from the mecha they had just defeated, and started firing crazily at the three space pirates.

Shawn took advantage of their momentary distraction from dodging bullets, quickly freed himself, and ran to Philip’s side.

The three space pirates, hit by the bullets, calmly lifted their mechanical arms.

Shawn and Philip knew something was wrong and turned to run, but the firepower cannons exploded behind them, throwing up a cloud of dirt and rocks.

Both Shawn and Philip fell to the ground, their mechas damaged to varying degrees.

Unlike in the underground arena, the pain here was entirely real. They were dizzy and ringing from the explosion and couldn’t get up, knowing well that they were likely to die today.

As they struggled to make one last stand, the eyes of the Red Dragonfly, which had fallen into the bushes, suddenly lit up. Although it couldn’t fly or move, the live broadcast had finally reconnected.

The logistics team sighed in relief but before they could relax fully, they choked on seeing the dire state of the students on the screen.

In the map, Yuka rummaged through the cockpit of a mecha she had just knocked down with her hammer.

She tossed aside the space pirate who had fainted, then pulled out an opticomputer. The butler swiftly unlocked and reprogrammed it. Yuka logged into her account, sent a message to Kenji assuring her safety, shared her location, and then opened the live broadcast interface.

It was still dark, not capturing her recent fight against the enemy, so her persona wasn’t completely exposed.
