Chapter 143: Are You Ready (2)

After thinking, Yuka nodded, "Okay, the Alliance Army strikes first. After you finish off the space pirates, the Stellar Corps will follow up."

Kenji nodded in agreement, and everyone else breathed a sigh of relief.

With everyone’s input, the battle plan was quickly finalized, setting the attack for that night.

Equipped with night vision devices from the science academy, the mechas could see clearly even in the dark. They boarded their combat spacecraft, silently approaching planet K32.

On K32, Bartland stood in the command room, gripping his subordinate’s shoulder, intently watching the screens showing the planet’s outer defense sensors.

Having worked for the Alliance Army for over twenty years, he knew they favored night attacks. It was no surprise they were coming after scouting during the day.

Bartland was a very smart guy, and he knew the Alliance Army was aware of their space pirate’s headquarters and the Queen’s location. He had already set traps around the Queen’s nest, waiting for the Alliance Army – and that Stellar Corps – to fall into it.

Suddenly, dozens of spacecraft appeared in the dark night, visible in the command room’s screens as clusters of red dots. Bartland smirked and instructed his subordinate, "Shoot them down. Don’t worry about running out of fire."

His subordinate hesitated for a moment, aware that their firepower was insufficient against the number of the Alliance Army. He knew all their space pirates wouldn’t survive the night, but defying Bartland meant dying immediately.

Faced with certain death either way, he decisively pressed the launch button, hitting one of the spacecraft.

The hit spacecraft belonged to the Alliance Army. The moment it was struck, the Alliance Army was ready to land.

Each soldier took out their Lev from the space button, abandoning the spacecraft. They dispersed in their Levs to reduce the chances of being hit, continuing towards K32.

As the spacecraft got closer to K32, some remained in space, attacking the space pirates’ stronghold from afar. Others flew forward, braving the heavy artillery fire, and halted above the stronghold. Soldiers descended from the spacecraft, storming the base to crush the space pirates from within.

Bartland, not completely mad, ordered a retreat when his forces dwindled. He coated the mechas with an extract from the Queen, tricking the insectoids into not attacking them and retreated to the Queen’s nest for safety.

Yuka, receiving the news, nodded and turned to her team with a smile, "It’s our turn now."

She surveyed her team: the tense Ayoi and Alex, the composed Donny, the excited Ichiro and his brothers, Philip and Lory competing over who’d kill more bugs, the arms-crossed Shawn, and other Stellar Corps soldiers, all prepared for battle.

No one backed down. This time, she had many comrades fighting alongside her.

Yuka smiled, then turned serious. "Prepare to land."

Toru carefully navigated the spacecraft toward the planet, signaling the logistics team to direct all Stellar Corps ships towards the space pirates’ escape route and the Queen’s location.

As the hatch opened, Yuka stepped onto her Lev, leading the Stellar Corps into the swarm of insects. Just before touching the ground, everyone retracted their Levs, switching to their mechas, ready for battle.

The hungry soldier insectoids, with their black and green bodies, twisted towards the mechas, ready to pierce them with their sharp mandibles and feed on human flesh.

But the Stellar Corps, wielding long swords, showed no mercy. They chopped off the limbs of the insectoids and plunged their swords into their heads, killing them instantly.

Parasite insectoids entwined around the legs of a mecha, continuously climbing upwards. One mecha nearly fell, almost overwhelmed by the insectoids, but a comrade swiftly pulled it up, severed the parasites, and rejoined the battle.

These warriors had endured hundreds, even thousands, of hours of relentless training. In simulated environments, they had fought wave after wave of insectoids. They would not fall at the beginning of the battle!

In the midst of the swarm, Yuka wielded her familiar weapon, the chained hammer. Within its reach, no insectoid could get close to her; its spikes tore them apart.

Her comrades from the Stellar Corps followed her lead. With Yuka there, their confidence and faith were unshakeable.

Yuka pressed on tirelessly. Through her earpiece, she heard the first squad reporting their position, " Heraclitus Squad’s remote fire support in position, targeting flying insects!"

Ayoi, known for her impeccable marksmanship, had joined the Heraclitus Squad. Beside her, Philip, amazed yet unwilling to be outdone, aimed at the sky, swiftly eliminating the first wave of flying insectoids.

The logistics team, in reinforced armored vehicles, risked their lives to deliver ammunition supplies.

"The joint sword formation is in place, advancing inward!" announced the second squad in Yuka’s earpiece.

On the perimeter of the swarm, the Confucius Academy team, using a formation from the Gaia Institute, had taken their positions. They moved inward, as rehearsed countless times, eliminating fleeing insects, forcing them to retreat further.

Shawn and his friends, standing at the high vantage point, became the eyes of the entire formation.

The Ichiro brothers led a triangular sword formation, the main force in shifting attacks. Should any side weaken or suffer losses, the others would swiftly fill the gap, maintaining the team’s stability.

The logistics team kept pace with the fighters, swiftly repairing their mechas while evacuating the injured to the abandoned base of the space pirates for immediate medical attention. The severely wounded were urgently transported back to Capital Octoxis Hospital.

Following the second squad’s report, the third squad’s voice came through, "The Atlantis Squad has entered the river and is preparing to flank the enemy!"

The students from Atlantis Academy were experts in swimming, moving through water with a speed unmatched by ordinary people, even in their mechas.

Lory led the team through K32’s only river, aiming to attack the rear of the insect swarm and prepare for a rendezvous with the vanguard.

As expected, they encountered parasites in the water. The logistics team following them quickly spread a glow-in-the-dark agent, specially developed by the science academy against parasites.

These nearly invisible parasites in the water suddenly glowed green, exposing their location for the Atlantis team to attack.

The fourth squad, a dispersed unit, was responsible for eliminating any missed insectoids. Led by Alex and Donny, they cleared the path for the logistics team.

Yuka stepped out of the dense swarm, crushing insect eggs underfoot. She retracted her hammer and gazed at the huge, disgusting body of the Queen, hearing Kenji’s voice over the comm.

"Ready?" he asked. freēwēbnovel.com

Yuka curled her lips into a confident smile. "Ready."
