Rebirth: The Universe's Hidden Heiress-Chapter 152: [The End] They Became History (2)
Chapter 152: [The End] They Became History (2)
After finishing the textbook content, Kishi suddenly remembered something and, with a smile, said to the children, "There’s an interesting little story about Yuka. After she switched to the history department, on the first day of the new semester, the department announced a change in their teaching method. It was no longer the easy-going style that allowed anyone to pass. It became very strict. Each student had to learn the history from the ancient cosmic era to the present, and if they failed, they couldn’t graduate."
"When Yuka heard this bad news, she said just one thing." Kishi was smiling broadly. "She said..."
"Is it still possible to change my major now?"
After the laughter subsided, Kishi became serious and told the students, "In summary, Yuka’s contribution to the Alliance is immense. Without her, the Alliance we know wouldn’t exist."
"Now, I will show you a short video related to Yuka and Kenji’s wedding. In this video, you will see many celebrities and can review what we learned today. Watch carefully."
Hearing there was a video to watch, the children’s eyes were glued to the projection screen.
On the screen, Yuka, wearing a pink wedding dress, smiled at the camera, fluttering her eyelashes, and said somewhat helplessly to Ayoi beside her, "I don’t think it’s necessary..."
"It is necessary!" Ayoi and the butler interrupted her in unison. "A wedding is a big event in life, and the ceremony must be grand!"
The butler, touching the hem of Yuka’s dress, said, "I chose a smoky pink dress, gentle and elegant, perfect for a lady, super beautiful! There’s a big bow on the back, even more beautiful. And pink eyeshadow for the young mistress; today, you are the most beautiful bride in all the Alliance!"
Ayoi and Vivian next to her nodded in agreement. Donny and Kimiko, standing at the door, gave thumbs up, signaling that she looked fantastic.
Yuka let the butler dress her up. After being dressed, she twirled in front of the camera and smiled gently.
The children watching the video couldn’t help but let out soft gasps of amazement, discussing how Yuka looked even more beautiful than in the textbooks, and more stunning than any celebrity they had seen. Many young girls instantly idolized Yuka, aspiring to be as beautiful and strong as her.
The camera then switched to Kenji, dressed in a black suit, nervously clenching his fists and sitting upright on a chair, adjusting his hair and buttons for the hundred and twentieth time.
Nori rolled his eyes and said to the equally nervous groomsmen, "I don’t know what you’re so anxious about. The bride isn’t going to run away."
Morris also chimed in, "Yeah, if you’re really that nervous, maybe I should take your place..."
As they were talking, the door was suddenly flung open with a slap. A panting Alex rushed in and said to Kenji, "Hurry, hurry... It’s time to pick up the bride!"
Kenji sprang to his feet, somewhat clumsily making his way out the door. He got into a hovering car, ready to head to the villa where Yuka was waiting.
The bridal procession consisted of ninety-nine vehicles, all driven by Kenji’s subordinates, monopolizing the entire roadway.
Knowing that Kenji and Yuka were getting married today, the people of the Alliance had voluntarily cleared the road. People on the streets cheered and threw flowers at their cars, covering the whole street with colorful petals while balloons filled the sky.
As they got closer to the villa, Kenji’s nerves heightened. He felt dizzy as he watched his groomsmen overcoming the bridesmaids’ challenges and then took Yuka’s hand from Hideki. Gazing at Yuka’s smiling face just inches away, he wanted to etch this moment into his memory forever.
He heard Hideki say, "I’m entrusting Yuka to you. Just to make it clear, if she suffers even the slightest under your care, I’ll take her back anytime. And from then on, I won’t do business with the Alliance Army, nor will I provide any material support."
"I won’t let her down," Kenji firmly grasped Yuka’s hand, looking straight into Hideki’s eyes, promising, "Taking care of her is a privilege I could only dream of. I want to spend the rest of my life with her and will never let her be unhappy. Please be assured."
Hideki patted Kenji’s shoulder, his eyes brimming with tears as he watched Yuka leave with Kenji, feeling a mix of reluctance and happiness.
Just as Yuka was about to get into the car, she suddenly turned around, ran back to Hideki, and hugged him tightly, whispering, "Thank you, Dad."
"Thank you for treating me as your own daughter, for your protection and care over the years, for standing up for me, and for always supporting every choice I make."
Hideki patted Yuka’s back and said, "Go on now, come back to visit when you have time."
"Okay," Yuka nodded with a smile, then returned to Kenji’s side, linking her arm with his. She took one last look at Hideki and the crowd behind him, then got into Kenji’s hovering car, their fingers interlocked.
At the end of the wedding, Yuka and Kenji walked through the cheering crowd, entering the hall of matrimony amidst blessings. Under the watchful eyes of the witness, they exchanged rings and made their vows of eternal unity.
Surrounded by fluttering ribbons and petals, they committed their lives to each other.
Nori, who rarely held back his sharp tongue, closed his mouth for once. He exchanged a brief glance with the former General Fleet Admiral, then turned away, looking at the others who had experienced the war with Yuka and Kenji, now both crying and laughing. He averted his gaze, resisting the urge to roll his eyes, but couldn’t help the corners of his mouth turning upward, revealing his first smile since leaving the Science Academy.
With a mix of sighs, relief, joy, and an indescribable complexity, he said to the embracing Yuka and Kenji, "Be happy."
Although he still didn’t understand the meaning of marriage or the point of adding another person into one’s life, he had witnessed Yuka and Kenji’s life-and-death bond. He had pulled them back from the brink of death and knew the depth of their connection – unbreakable and inseparable. So, he sincerely gave them his blessing.
Yuka and Kenji turned towards him, saying in unison, "We will."
The children in the classroom let out a chorus of "wow," covering their eyes with their hands, yet couldn’t resist peeking through their fingers at the couple kissing passionately on the screen.
They watched intently until Kishi turned off the video and announced the end of the class. Reluctantly, they lowered their hands and chorused, "Goodbye, ma’am—"
Kishi left the classroom with a smile. In her heart, she quietly echoed the sentiment: They will be happy.
