Chapter 158: [Parallel World] Intimacy (1)

Note: The Parallel World series happened in a parallel universe; the plot and settings are completely unrelated to the previous story. This Yuka is still the famous "Vase."

The man didn’t detect Kenji’s light pheromone scent, but seeing his reaction, he knew Professor Humphrey’s new pheromone drug was a success.

"It’s unbearable, isn’t it?" The man, holding his nose, sneered as he approached the overheated Kenji. "This pheromone drug induces an early heat cycle, causing loss of reason and weakening of limbs, leaving one at the mercy of others. You’re from The Alliance Army, right? Were you the one who killed our brother last time?"

Kenji dodged the man’s reaching hand. The man noticed Kenji’s attempt to use his opticomputer to call help. He snatched the opticomputer away and smashed the suppressant hidden in Kenji’s clothing.

Kenji glared at the man, his mind overheating as he calculated how to fatally strike him. He had an emergency beacon in his inner pocket. If he could control the man in front of him and hold on a little longer, The Alliance Army would arrive.

"So, a beta," the man sneered, reaching out again towards Kenji. Addressing the space pirates behind him, he taunted, "Wanna have some fun? He looks tough, and might not be very enjoyable, but it’s an opportunity to humiliate the Alliance Army. Anyone interested?"

"Don’t go overboard, and be aware of your surroundings," the leader of the space pirates instructed. "Make sure to clean up any blood. Leave the body in the private room for them to find."

Kenji watched the space pirates closing in on him with a cold gaze. He relaxed his sleeves, grasping the dagger that slid out.

Striving to maintain his sanity, he prepared to strike at the moment they came within reach.

...

At the other side of the bar, Yuka poured herself another drink. The colorful lights from the party lamps danced across her face.

She felt a bit bored and fiddled with her opticomputer, asking the butler, "What are you doing?"

"Playing the matching game," the butler replied.

Yuka grew even more bored. She touched the glass restlessly, thinking that Kenji must have gone on a mission since he was taking so long to return.

As she wondered whether to stay and wait for Kenji or leave and message him later to arrange another meeting, Yuka suddenly caught the scent of Kenji’s pheromones.

The smell of fresh snow was too faint for others to notice, but Yuka immediately covered her nose, fighting the heat in her body. Then she quickly stood up to follow the direction of the pheromones.

Yuka moved swiftly, knowing that Kenji must be in his heat cycle. His pheromones were strong, a sign he hadn’t taken his suppressants in time. She doubted someone like Kenji would be careless. He must have been in a tricky situation, with no time or chance to control his heat response.

’...He might be in danger.’

With a heavy heart, Yuka followed the scent up the stairs, treading lightly as she continued forward.

When she saw Kenji attacking a man who was tearing at his clothes with a dagger, surrounded by several menacing alphas, her mind went blank.

She didn’t know how she rushed in or whether she got hurt in the fight. When she came to her senses, she was already holding the burning-hot Kenji in her arms.

The towering space pirates lay scattered on the ground, the dead ones with eyes wide open, as if they couldn’t understand why they had been killed by an alpha who looked so weak.

The living pirates struggled to breathe, paralyzed on the ground, overwhelmed by Yuka’s pheromones carrying a powerful dominance. Their inherent fear of a stronger alpha almost suffocated them.

The Alliance had never heard of such an alpha before.

Kenji unconsciously reached out and grabbed Yuka’s hem. He no longer had the strength to ponder why Yuka had such potent pheromones. Her rose-scented pheromones made him restless, the 100% compatibility too overwhelming. His face flushed, his eyes hazy as he looked at Yuka, his mouth slightly open, unconsciously leaning in to kiss her.

Yuka bit her tongue tip, trying her best to stay conscious. Using the strongest willpower she had ever mustered, she turned her head, refusing Kenji’s kiss.

Kenji tugged at her clothes, dissatisfaction in his hoarse voice, "Why... not?"

Yuka was also struggling. The fresh snow scent from Kenji almost overwhelmed her. Heaven knows how hard she was trying not to mark him right there. But she persisted, gently saying to Kenji, "You’re not clear-headed now. I can’t take advantage of you. Where’s your suppressant? I’ll help you take it."

"It’s broken," Kenji said, looking into Yuka’s eyes as if trying to seduce her, tilting his head back, "Gone."

Yuka almost bit her tongue.

"Gone?" Yuka frowned and repeated.

Kenji nodded.

Yuka was kneeling, with Kenji half-lying on her legs. His cheek was rubbing against her thigh, not staying still. His hands gripped her tighter, trying to force her to bend down and kiss him, as if that was the only way to ease his restlessness.

Yuka covered her forehead, half in helplessness, thinking that Kenji seemed to have lost his mind completely. She couldn’t leave him alone here and go downstairs for suppressants.

But if she didn’t get the suppressants...

"Can you see who I am?" Yuka placed her hand on Kenji’s face, stopping his restless movements, making him focus on her, and asked seriously, "You know who I am, huh?"

Kenji’s heart was lightly hooked by Yuka’s rising tone. He pursed his lips, trying hard to open his eyes, "I know, you’re... Yuka."

"Yes, I’m Yuka." Yuka touched Kenji’s hot face, leaned down, and asked softly, "Yuka is talking to you now... do you need a temporary mark?"

Yuka spoke soothingly, "It’s just a temporary mark. I’ll be very careful, it won’t hurt you, okay?"

Kenji’s rubbing motions suddenly stopped.

’Is this a no?’ Yuka felt a bit sad inside, ready to tell him she would go get the suppressants, but then she heard Kenji suddenly say, "...Yes."

Yuka paused in her motion to get up, asking again in disbelief, "Really? Is it okay?"

"Yes." Kenji covered half his face with his hand, his eyes drooping again, hiding his shyness and embarrassment.

He quietly let go of her, abandoning the emergency call device in his pocket, hiding it along with his secret thoughts. If he didn’t speak of it, didn’t inform anyone, it would remain unknown forever.

Yuka didn’t expect Kenji to actually agree to let her mark him temporarily. A beta’s temporary mark wasn’t something anyone could give. ’Does this mean that Kenji may actually have feelings for me too?’

Yuka blinked nervously, her movements filled with extra caution. She helped Kenji up and led him into an empty private room. She kicked the unconscious space pirates out of the doorway, closed the door firmly, locked it, and then carefully placed Kenji on a clean couch.

Yuka poured a glass of water for Kenji. While he drank, she told herself not to be nervous and to be gentle. She then instructed the butler, "Scan the room for any unusual surveillance or bugging devices."

The butler grumbled, "You should always be careful. Don’t be impulsive..."

"It’s just a temporary mark!" Yuka whispered sharply to the butler, "Hurry up and check."

"You only remember me when you need something, and you’re so harsh usually..." the butler complained, starting to scan the room. "Fine, fine, I’ll stop. Don’t turn me off, I haven’t finished my game yet! There’s a bugging device under the coffee table!"

Yuka went over, crushed the device beneath the coffee table, threw the parts into the trash, and then blocked the chatty butler.

Taking a deep breath, she walked over to Kenji.

Kenji, sunk into the soft couch, and lifted his chin as she approached, exposing his slender neck and slightly swollen glands, completely presenting himself.

Yuka’s breath hitched slightly as she approached, kneeling on one knee on the couch, her hands propped behind Kenji on the backrest. She slowly leaned down.

While leaning in, Yuka kept an eye on Kenji for any sign of resistance. She would stop immediately if he showed the slightest unwillingness.

She sought mutual consent, not coercion, not a compromise for the sake of circumstances.

Kenji’s Adam’s apple moved nervously as Yuka got closer, his heartbeat racing as if it would burst from his chest. He smelled the pheromones Yuka released to soothe him, relaxing slightly, and tilted his head, obediently exposing his glands for her to mark.

Sensing Kenji’s movements, Yuka hesitated no longer. She lowered her head to kiss his neck, licking his glands gently.

Kenji let out a low, muffled moan, covering his mouth with his hand to prevent any more embarrassing sounds, his ears burning red.

Surrounded by Kenji’s snow-scented pheromones, Yuka found a hint of warmth in the icy scent. She couldn’t resist biting gently on Kenji’s swollen gland, satisfied to hear another low gasp from him. Then, she released a large amount of her rose-scented pheromones, soothing Kenji not to be anxious.

Kenji, overwhelmed by Yuka’s intense pheromone scent, felt as if he was in a rose garden, where pink roses bloomed more magnificently than any red roses he had ever seen.

In that moment of distraction, Yuka gently bit his gland, her possessiveness and aggression unmistakable, drawing him helplessly into her rose garden.
