Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!-Chapter 1275: Valkyrie of Resolve
Chapter 1275: Valkyrie of Resolve
Sofia learned in that moment that after she was saved, it was time for her to save someone else as well.
She had wronged Martina, and it was her fault all of this was happening to this girl.
This poor, cute girl she remembered as someone so nice and intelligent...
It was her fault she might become a Nightmare.
She had to take responsibility and stop it.
Her Mechanical Heart worked as it was intended, responding to Sofia when her emotions reached a very high threshold.
And her emotions right now were...
Resolve!
FLAAASH!
The Mechanical Heart merged with her spear, making it glow golden in color, and her spear spread golden metallic tentacles made of molten gold.
Which unified with her metallic holy shields, merging together into a golden armor covering Sofia's shoulders, chest, her legs, and her head.
It created a beautiful silver and gold colored Valkyrie armor! And it was shaped specifically for speed and attack power.
The power of what she would get was based in her current strong emotions towards someone else.
"{Mechanical Heart Transformation: Valkyrie of Resolve}!"
FLASH!
With a single step, Sofia rushed through the snakes made of poison and illusions, piercing through them and destroying them one after another with a flashing thrust of light.
Her spear, having become a huge lance, pierced through the mist and dissipated it! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
As she reached Martine, the monstrous Jester continued growing larger, screaming at Sofia and opening its jaws, breaking apart its mask to reveal a giant jaw full of sharp teeth.
TRUUUM!
And from within it, the monstrous creature fired a giant nightmare laser!
FLASH!
Sofia evaded the beam as it hit the ground, and then it began following her around.
"Almost there...! Almost... there! Martina!"
She jumped towards Martina, hitting the jester with her spear and destroying its face.
CRASH!
"GRYYAAEERGH!"
The monstrous Dream Weapon screamed, still not completely a Nightmare, Sofia quickly decided to destroy it first.
"I know why you're doing this!"
The Jester fought back, attacking her with dozens of new arms it popped out of its mechanical wooden body, covered by black nightmare sludge.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
"You wanted to originally protect her, right? You wanted to make her happy! Didn't you!?" "GRYYAAAAHH!"
The jester screamed, its jaws opening across its body, growing more and more eldritch and aberrant.
"But this... it's not the right way! You're going to end up killing her! Is this what you want?!"
With her resolve reaching her peak, Sofia attacked the jester, unleashing a barrage of consecutive piercing thrusts.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
"G-GRAARRGH!"
The monster screamed, as its entire body was covered by countless holes.
Crack, crack...!
And each one of these holes interconnected with giant cracks spreading through the puppet's body.
Rapidly, it was beginning to fall apart.
"G-Gyeeh..."
The source of this c𝓸ntent is frёeweɓηovel.coɱ.
As it saw its body beginning to crumble, it glanced at Martina on the floor, frying black sludge, as her heart was about to be fully corrupted.
It extended its hand towards her, touching her head...
"I must... protect... her..."
And it spoke.
"Ah..."
Crack, crack...!
"I'm sorry...!"
Sofia sighed, as she hit the puppet again.
CRASH!
The moment the puppet exploded into pieces, the nightmare energies within Martina stopped growing, even then, what was there still remained.
"Uuggh...! S-Sofiaaaa!" she screamed. "You damn bitch!"
The sludge gathered around her arms as she punched Sofia several times with gigantic fists
made out of black sludge.
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
Each hit was more intense than the previous one, breaking through Sofia's golden armor,
sending shivers through her body.
"Ugh...! I deserve this much..." Sofia muttered. "I'm really sorry, Martina!"
While crying tears of regret, Sofia's spear destroyed Martina's sludge wrapping her arms, and
then she ran towards her.
"I'm sorry! I'm really sorry!"
And then she hugged her, letting Martina cry in her chest.
And the moment Martina touched Sofia's chest, where her Mechanical Heart was.
FLAAASH!
A shining brilliance surged, encompassing Martina completely.
A light of tremendous cleansing power.
The same power she had used to cleanse the Nightmare Lord born from her Dream Heart.
And the same light that had surged when the Nightmares made out of the memories of her parents were forgiven by her.
The light burned through the nightmare essence and the sludge, destroying it all and turning
it into ashes.
Martina slowly opened her eyes, realizing she was still alive, somewhat.
"S-Sofia?"
She looked at Sofia with surprise and then started crying.
Sofia finally recalled within her that girl she had once broke with her harsh, cold words...
"I just... wanted to be your friend..." she kept crying. "Why... just why..."
"Let's become friends, Martina..." Sofia said. "For... for real this time."
"B-But... you must hate me now... I don't know what the hell... even happened..." muttered
Martina. "Ahh... I feel so weak... But do you... do you truly mean it? Do you promise me to
become my friend?"
"I do..." Sofia hugged her, encompassing her with a veil of Healing Light. "You won... Martina.
Congrats."
"I... did?" muttered Martina.
"Yes... I concede," Sofia said.
The smoke created by Martina's magic dissipated, as Sofia declared Martina the victor.
Both girls looked completely exhausted and wounded, barely conscious.
So it was hard to tell who even won for real, but if Sofia gave up, then they had to declare
Martina the victor.
Emily, Alma, Maria, and everyone else glanced in disbelief.
Although Maria knew what happened there.
"Well done, Sofia..." she nodded.
"WE'VE GOT OUR WINNERS!" Hendrick roared. "The winners of the first round are Maria,
Lucifer, and Martina!"
After that, Martina was carried to the nursery to be treated of her wounds, while Sofia decided
to remain watching, saying her wounds weren't as big. "Don't forget... your promise..." Martina muttered, blushing a bit. "We're friends now, ok?"
"Yeah," Sofia nodded, caressing her hand. "Go rest, from today, tomorrow, and for the rest of
our lives, I'll be your friend, Martina."
Martina was carried away, as Sofia sighed in relief.
"I-It's over... a lot happened," she sighed. "You really won't believe it!"
"Ah, well, I might," Maria giggled.
