Reborn As A Ghost: Time To Build My Undead Army!-Chapter 1409: A (Fake) Prophetic Dream
Chapter 1409: A (Fake) Prophetic Dream
-----
Sofia was having a hard time believing what we were saying, even more what we told her we were going to do. But right now, there wasn’t much time for proper explanations, so we had to make lies along the way to make things connect better into a concise narrative we can use to justify our actions.
"You saw what we were able to do already, Sofia."
Sofia was having a hard time believing we could go against the Nightmare Demon King, even less against all the demons or invade their castle, which was one of my plans.
"We can kill them; Nightmare Demons aren’t invincible. We are strong, stronger than you imagine... And this is our mission, the responsibility we hold as the owners of such power."
As I explained to her that, I looked at Emeraldine, we had already talked about what to say to explain things properly to them.
And just like we arrived here, it was through lies intermingled with the truth.
"I’ve seen in my dreams as this world comes to an end..." Emeraldine suddenly said, according to our plan, she looked a bit nervous at first but kept her cool to look like she was confident and not lying.
"At the end of the week, humanity will be destroyed by the Nightmares, and this world will be shrouded by darkness for eternity. We must stop them before this happens."
As Emeraldine explained that, Sofia, Alma, and Emily looked at one another in surprise and confusion, while Martina was still wondering what the hell was going on.
"S-Since when do you have prophetic dreams?!" Sofia asked in disbelief. "Y-You’re saying the world is just going to end once the week ends?! That’s just... how?"
"I already told you; I saw it within my dreams," Emeraldine said. "It’s fine if you don’t believe me, but since I was a child that I’ve been able to see the future within my dreams. But this future is not set in stone, it can be changed, I’ve saved the life of my mother by doing so in the past, and Maria here, and everyone else, believes me now. I had told Maria that you would suddenly turn into a Nightmare once, but she didn’t believe me, and once it finally happened, it is as if her eyes were opened."
"Y-You predicted that?" Sofia asked. "But why didn’t you tell me?" fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
"I thought it was bullshit back then, I didn’t want to believe something so ridiculous, after all, a person becoming a Nightmare? That has never happened before, right?" I asked, sounding more and more convincing.
"I-Is there any other dreams you’ve predicted before, Emeraldine?" Alma wondered, tilting her head.
"Yes, I dreamed about you, Emily, and Maria as children exploring an abandoned city, I didn’t really know what that was, or why were you children there," Emeraldine said. "But once Maria told me what happened to you when you fought the Nightmare Demon of Childhood, I realized it was also a prophetic dream."
"N-No way..." Alma gasped. "Then the world... it could truly end?!"
"W-What did you see in the dream?" Emily wondered.
"How did the world end?" Sofia asked her as well.
Seems like we finally got them, they were completely believing our bullshit! It was nice to have planned this just in case, Emeraldine is also an incredible actor.
"I cannot completely describe what I saw properly..." Emeraldine sighed. "But I saw the entire world being swallowed by darkness, an endless sea of nightmares took over as a giant red eye glared from above the skies, extending its tentacles over the planet. At the same time, a monstrous demon of a shape I cannot describe properly led millions of demons across the world, destroying humanity. Rivers of blood everywhere, corpses piled after more corpses, the bodies of all of us, with holes in our chests... and the nightmare demons, feasting on our hearts."
"U-uwaaah...! T-That’s so scary! I’m so sorry you dreamed such a thing, Emeraldine!" Alma cried. "I-I’ll help! I cannot let that happen! E-Even if my power is only barely anything, let me give you my support..."
"So that’s what’s going to happen? Holy shit, if you think we can prevent that, I’m in! But shouldn’t we ask for the help of authorities?" Emily asked.
"They won’t listen without proper evidence, so we’re on our own right now," said Lucifer. "The world is going to end, and we all know it, but nobody would ever listen to us anyway."
"So it’s all up to us...?" Sofia wondered. "Such a massive responsibility... to even dare fight the Nightmare Demon King from all beings, or even infiltrating his castle, it’s all so scary... I-I don’t know if I could even..."
"Sofia, it’s fine," I said. "If you don’t want to come, you don’t have to. I am not forcing anybody to do something against their own will after all. Martina, what do you think though? Will you stay by her side?"
"Yeah, Sofia’s my friend, I believe you guys but... at the same time, not completely," Martina said. "And well, even if it happens, the chances even if we all go... they’re too slim. We might as well just hope it doesn’t happen or accept our deaths and pass the last moments with our loved ones."
"E-Eh? You’re so pessimistic, Martina!" Sofia suddenly changed her attitude. "What in the world is wrong with you?! How could you say such a thing?! We’re not dying, and I am not accepting death either! Ugh, fine! I’m coming along, Maria! You better know of a way to grow stronger!"
"I know, I think I’ve even figured out a way to help your Dream Weapons evolve and become even bigger and stronger," I said. "Just like mine here."
As I showed them my Dream Weapons which had changed design, the girls gasped in disbelief.
"Y-Your sword and your halberd changed?!" Alma asked.
"No way, they really evolved?!" Emily asked.
"How... did you do it?" Martina asked.
"Heh, come along and I’ll tell you the trick," I giggled.
And let’s hope it works...
