The battle between Major Kai and Major Ceres became a cat and mouse race.
Knowing just how fearsome the raw attack power of a D Rank Gene Augur of the Beastframe Specialization was and having seen the destructive power of this Winged Rhino, Major Ceres dared not let Major Lawrence get close.
And so, she kept on jumping through the psionic network to get away from him, forcing Major Kai to keep on pursuing him relentlessly.
Both of them burned ADE like running water from a tap.
She couldn’t fight back, she dared not fight back, she could only keep on running while defending herself against Major Kai’s Mindbreaker attacks.
Psionic Assault!
Mind Distortion!
Neural Burn!
Major Kai went all out.
Forced to keep on running around while defending against the occasional attacks that hit her, while also trying to retaliate so she won’t be cornered, Major Ceres’ ADE expenditure skyrocketed to unsustainable levels.
And unlike Gene Augurs, one glaring weakness of NetRunners is their lack of overwhelming reserves of ADE.
As a Lieutenant of the Federation Army, she carried ADE crystals with her to replenish her ADE but due to how tight the chase was, she didn’t even have the luxury to calm down and use them.
She dared not slow down.
For 8 minutes, Major Ceres was chased by her 2 opponents like cats chasing a rat and in the end, pushed to the wall, she finally stopped running and decided to make her last stand in an area of the battlefield filled with rebel soldiers.
’If I’m going to die, I’m going to drag enemy soldiers down with me!’
Seeing her tactic, Major Kai and Lawrence didn’t even blink an eye as they ruthlessly engaged her in the midst of their own soldiers.
Neural Hack!
Her neon green ADE flared violently as she hacked and forcibly took over enemy transports but it didn’t matter.
BAM!
Major Lawrence’s Winged Rhino form charged through aerial transports that were on his way as soldiers evaporated into bloody mist in his wake!
With his predatory brown eyes set on his target, he accelerated.
Data Lash!

But Major Ceres resisted.
The triple-layered mind attacks made Major Mendez’s brain swim but it didn’t stop the momentum of his body as horn first, he rammed into the body of the NetRunner, puncturing a bloody hole through her abdomen!
"Gah...!" Major Ceres coughed a mouthful of blood.
Before she could recover, Major Kai stunned her with a series of mind attacks that left her brain numb and swimming.
Before she could recover, Major Lawrence already attacked again.
Genome Shift- Beastframe: Giant Shredder Octopus!
With this ability, the D Rank Gene Augur swapped his Beastframe mutation mid fight as he mutated again, metamorphosing and turning into a giant Octopus with titanic limbs that were over 10 meters long with each one over 2 meters thick!
Each tentacle had thorns like barbed wires for shredding flesh.
Before Major Ceres could recover, Major Kai stunned her again with another well-timed assault.
Psionic Assault!
That was all it took.
Major Ceres didn’t even know what happened in the end as the thick long tentacles of the Giant Shredder Octopus engulfed her, squeezed, then they started grinding together!
The D Rank NetRunner showed no physical resistance.
BAM!
Her body exploded within the coils of the tentacles in a gory shower of synthetic oil and metallic debris!
The Synth was grinded to death!
For the second time since the war started over 12 days ago, another D Rank Ascended was finally killed.
And for the first time in a long time, the war swung in the favor of the rebel army.
The rebels finally got the upper hand in the war.
Though most of the weaker soldiers didn’t see it as it happened, they all could sense the feeling of optimism that suddenly erupted that night, making them fight with even more motivation and raw determination.
And with Major Ceres dead, it finally left just 2 enemy D Rank Ascended, Major Goldbridge, the D Rank Quantum Shaper and Major Steve, the D Rank Cyber Gladiator fighting against Major Mendez.
Instantly, Major Kai and Lawrence turned their gaze towards the battlefield between Major Potter and the Federation Lieutenant.

Major Kai directly hopped towards their battlefield while with Metallic Overdrive to amplify his speed and regeneration, Major Lawrence also charged towards the battlefield!

The moment Major Ceres died, Major Goldbridge saw it and this was why he was able to react immediately when Major Kai suddenly appeared beside him.
This Synth instantly went full defense mode as he no longer bothered about fighting and killing Major Potter.
His enemies may not know it but at D Rank, Cyber Gladiators are known as Causality Shapers and they unlock either of the 3 Class Specializations- Gravitionist, Chrono Master, and Fluxmancer.
A Gravitionist gains partial authority over the natural powers of gravity and mass, unlocking 3 abilities in the process- Mass Manipulation, Pull, and Push. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Mass Manipulation enables a D Rank Gravitionist to freely manipulate weight depending on how much ADE is used.
Pull is self-explanatory, it’s the gravity power of attraction while Push is the gravity power of repulsion.
They also gain the ability of natural flight.
Together, these form the arsenal of a D Rank Gravitionist of the Quantum Shaper Class.
As for Chrono Masters, they gain partial authority over time, unlocking 3 abilities in the process- Chrono-Field Anchoring, Chronostasis Distortion, and Time Cloning.
Chrono-Field Anchoring enables a Chrono Master to create a localized, bubble shaped zone where the flow of time operates independently from the outside world.
Within this field, a Chrono Master can slow down, speed up, or even stop time for objects and people. They can decide to actively be affected or they can remain unaffected by the field effects.
Chronostasis Distortion when activated alters a target’s perception of duration. It can make a single second feel like an hour, causing mental paralysis and disorienting targets.
As for Time Cloning, it enables a Chrono Master to summon copies of themselves or an object from a few seconds in the past or future for a short time.
With this ability and with enough ADE, a Chrono Master can literally enter a battle with an army of clones of himself to fight!
As for Fluxmancers, they gain partial authority over energy and matter fields, unlocking 3 abilities in the process- Plasmakinesis, Radiation Bending, and Quantum Assassin.
When activated, Plasmakinesis enables a Fluxmancer to strip electrons from air molecules, creating, shaping, and solidifying superheated ionized gas into constructs like blades, shields, and tendrils that can cut through matter.
Fluxmancers are natural plasma weapons!
As for Radiation Bending, when activated a Fluxmancer can absorb, redirect, or amplify radioactive decay and ADE corruption!
They can create a temporary safe zone in a forbidden region saturated by corrupted ADE by deflecting the harmful radiation and ADE, and they can also unleash concentrated beams of Gamma and X-ray radiation.
And as for Quantum Assassin, when activated, it grants Fluxmancers the ability of enhanced dream and reality control. They become capable of assassinating through dreams!
Killing a quantum body is equal to a real death!
Apart from the Specialization-exclusive skills, D Rank Quantum Shapers unlock 3 general abilities- Spatial Rend, Phase Step, and Quantum Flux.
Quantum Flux is a passive ability that increases the ADE efficiency and regeneration ability of Quantum Shapers by 10%.
Spatial Rend is an offensive ability that tears micro-fissures in reality, dealing true damage that bypasses regular defense measures.
Phase Step is a teleportation ability that enables D Rank Quantum Shapers to teleport up to 15 meters by folding space.
