The sky above Iron Reef vibrated in the wake of the battle between a C Rank Reality Sculptor and 5 D Rank Ascended.

The ground quaked like an earthquake was ravaging through the city.

And in the midst of it all, the chaotic aerial battle between the rebel army and the Federation Army continued even as General Sylvari Charr remained oblivious to what was happening in his surroundings as he stayed pinned inside a terrifying DDOS trap.

The world seemed to be coming undone on the 2nd of April.

And while it happened, standing inside a data control center with the Doom Rover v0.1 standing protectively beside him, with dozens of Vita7 Magnesium Nanites, Mosquito i7 pac 3060s, and the invisible C-5 drones, Leon watched as it felt like an apocalypse descended on Iron Reef!

The sound of battle echoed like thunder, making the atmosphere vibrate and become charged with negative electrons even as the walls of this data center violently shook.

Leon felt like he was standing in the middle of a fracturing world.

Despite the world coming undone around them, the engineers and tech experts in this data center stayed focused on their job as they did their best to contribute to the war, not knowing that their collective efforts actually kept a C Rank Ascended out of the battle.

The masked engineer served as a beacon of calm to them, urging them to keep on doing their work.

The masked engineer made them feel like if they ignored the vibrations and the noise outside to just focus on their work, they would somehow be able to influence the war result and make their army win.

As the one in charge of and supervising the large scale DDOS trap against General Sylvari Charr, Leon knew that he had perhaps the most important role in this ongoing war but still, he could not help but feel like he was slacking off.

This was because out there, Ren Nora’s Lieutenants were currently fighting against another C Rank Ascended!

’Another C Rank entity really came huh?’ Leon thought.

From the very beginning when the Trial objective indicated the possibility of meeting C Rank entities, Leon had been mentally prepared for it but when General Murphy emerged, he still felt like he was caught off-guard.

Leon was anxious. ’Will they be able to survive for long?’

The more he learned about C Rank Ascended, the more he learned to fear and respect them.

His first encounter with a C Rank Ascended still lived rent-free in his head.

The sight of the Red Dragon’s massive body blotting out the sky was a sight that Leon would not forget in a very long time.

Apart from that Gene Augur, Lord Zolkan, Leon had met 2 more C Rank Ascended so far and each of them though different due to their differing Classes were just as overpowered and conceptually powerful as the last.

General Sylvari Charr may not be as singularly overbearing and powerful as Lord Zolkan physically, but for what he lacked in physically, he gained elsewhere.

The General was a force to be reckoned with in the psionic realm.

The General could manifest war weapons, literally anything he imagined out of data and ADE!

That was overpowered.

With enough ADE, General Sylvari Charr could singlehandedly be an army by himself. The only thing holding his power back was his limited ADE capacity, and this was even without his Neural Tyrant Class Specialization ability.

The ability to break a Geneform, a sentient being like lines of code, subjugating him and turning him into a puppet was just as terrifying as it sounded.

At C Rank, Ascended were no longer constrained by concepts of reality and physics, they became God-like.

And now, a C Rank Quantum Shaper just entered the battlefield, and Major Kai was supposed to lead his comrades to stop him from finding Ren Nora’s hideout.

When Leon first awakened in Neo-Tokara, the ChronoSystem described the Quantum Shaper Class as the Class representing spatial, temporal, and energy manipulation and since then, he learned to be wary of them.

When he saw Major Kai and the other Lieutenants gang up on Major Goldbridge of the Federation Army, the Federation Major confirmed all his fears about the Quantum Shaper Class as he showed overwhelming power and bizarreness in battle.

And now, this was another Quantum Shaper, but of a higher level.

Seeing General Murphy fight, all of Leon’s worst fears were confirmed, this was not an enemy that can be contained!

At least, for NetRunners, ingenuity and the right technology could constrain their powers like Purgatory and now the city-scale DDOS attack, but would could actually trap a C Rank Reality Sculptor?

Leon’s anxiety levels skyrocketed as he watched the battle.

He was scared, he was desperate, he was anxious, he felt like the 5 Majors were always just one step away from death in the battle.

He checked the time.

"F*ck!" He cursed.

The worst part of this whole situation was that Leon still had no idea how long Ren Nora would take to complete his Trial.

’If they all die, the city falls... and Ren Nora will die!’

His eyes narrowed in desperation. ’And if Ren Nora dies, my Trial fails, F*CK!’ Leon felt like tearing his black hair off in frustration.

Impulsively, he flirted with the idea of going out to join the battle with the Doom Rover but instantly, he felt cold dread paralyze his entire body.

That was a battle far beyond his current level.

This was a battle involving Gene Augurs that could mutate into terrifying Winged Rhinos, Beastframes that could delete him from the face of the world in a single terrifying attack!

This was a battle involving NetRunners that could destroy his mind, turning him into an unresponsive vegetable before he could even muster a resistance!

This was a battle involving Knight Exosuits, beings of machinery and flesh that Leon had no doubt could obliterate his Doom Rover in less than a minute!

This was a battle involving a Reality Sculptor that could directly go against the laws of nature and reality to change and rewrite reality constants!

This was a battle of the high ranks!

Leon simply didn’t have the qualifications to directly participate in a battle of this scale yet, and it filled him once again with a yearning for D Rank.

’Dammit, I can’t afford to fail this Trial!’

Unlike a C Rank Reality Sculptor though, his desperation couldn’t change reality.

After less than 5 minutes of combat against the C Rank Reality Sculptor, the first casualty happened!

It was a miracle that they managed to last this long. The only reason they lasted this long was because of their conviction, their lack of fear of death, their guts and their seamless teamwork against the Federation General.

But even that was not enough to stop a C Rank Reality Sculptor.

Major Lawrence ate a fist at speeds far exceeding the speed of sound, a speed reaching 10 times the speed of sound!

The Winged Rhino’s entire body evaporated into a bloody mist from the impact as the D Rank Gene Augur died instantly!

General Murphy grinned like a maniac. "Haha..."
