Reborn as a Mechanist with a God-Tier System-Chapter 256: Mechanist Technician
In Leon’s categorization of the 3 Mechanist Class Specializations, while the Warmachine Specialization is hybrid, integrating both construction and combat boosts, and the Cannon Master Specialization is categorized as the combat Class Specialization, he categorized the Technician Specialization in the pure construction category.
Just like the Warmachine Class Specialization, the Technician Specialization fully embraced the Construction core of the Mechanist Class.

Apart from the innate boost to Construction talent though, the abilities of a Technician were vastly different from Warmachine Mechanists.
Unlike the Warmachine Specialization that focuses on combat automation, drones and mechanical soldiers, and the Cannon Master Specialization that focuses on heavy weaponry, long-range bombardment, and siege tactics, the Technician Class Specialization focuses on repair, optimization, augmentation, and hacking.
Of their 3 abilities, Auto Repair is self-explanatory.
When it came to repairing damaged Mechanist constructs, they were at the pinnacle of the Mechanist Class.
Thinking of this ability, Leon immediately thought of Vex Larkinson, the independent D Rank Mechanist that was the CEO of Vex Larkinson Gene Hospital.
With Auto Repair alone, Leon could easily see himself becoming a millionaire just like the CEO by having his own construction and repair factory.
As for Hijack Tech, unlike a Warmachine’s Blueprint Conversion, a Technician can permanently hijack enemy tech mid-battle!
This was diabolical.
With such an ability, the only thing holding a D Rank Technician Mechanist from taking over an enemy’s entire force in an aerial battle is ADE.
The only thing a Technician needed was an E Rank Gene Augur Artifact with the special ability of storing ADE in their blood.
With enough stored ADE, a Technician was a menace in any large-scale battlefield.
Also, Leon quickly made connections between this ability and the general Neural Hack ability of D Rank NetRunners.
Leon’s eyes widened in surprise. ’The Technician Class Specialization is very similar to the Cyber Saint Class Specialization!’
Both Class Specializations were similar in a lot of ways, and this was further confirmed by the 3rd Class ability of D Rank Mechanist Technicians- Overclock Field.
When activated, a Mechanist Technician can create a temporary zone that boosts ally machine performance by 30%.
Combining Overclock Field with Hijack Tech in his head, Leon realized that just like the Cyber Saint Class Specialization, Mechanist Technicians were built to reign and shine in largescale battles.
They could support allies, they could sabotage enemy tech, they were like mobile cyber plagues that are beneficial to allies but absolutely lethal to enemies.
And just like the Warmachine Specialization, Mechanist Technicians have 3 Class Specialization Exclusive Blueprints.
The first is an Energy Shield Blueprint, the second is a Power Battery, and the last is the blueprint for a Defense Matrix.
The V-7 Kinetic-Ion Barrier is a portable shield generator that projects a solid-light lattice barrier capable of absorbing both high-velocity ballistic impacts and thermal energy.
It also integrates a "Boost" protocol to temporarily overcharge its integrity and defense when under heavy fire for a limited period of time.
It was a highly versatile and capable D Rank energy shield.
As for the Mark-IV Flux Cell Battery, it’s a high-capacity power battery that’s designed to fuel energy-hungry machinery.
A single Mark-IV Flux Cell Battery can fuel an entire warship!
Leon finally realized how the major faction armies of Neo-Tokara were able to sustain the power-hungry warships in sustained aerial battles.
He also guessed that the emergence of the first D Rank Mechanists may have resulted in a great technological leap for all of Neo-Tokara.
From the little that he could recall from his fragmented memories, the existence of the Mechanist Class alone was enough to explain the massive technological changes in this era compared to his own era.
As for the Oculus-9 Gridlock Intercept Matrix, this was a special Energy Matrix technology that coordinates multiple defensive layers and shields to form largescale interconnected shield barriers.
A larger scale version of the Oculus-9 Gridlock Intercept Matrix is the city-scale energy shield in Leviathan Quay.
Leon guessed that only C Rank Mechanist Technicians could create an Energy Matrix of this scale.
’I wonder how many C Rank Mechanists there are,’ Leon thought longingly. ’Based on the fact that the Geneforge Clans got Leviathan Quay’s defense Energy Matrix from the Synth Order, the Order likely has at least 1...’
’And he or she is a Mechanist Technician!’ Leon’s eyes lit up.
The choice of such a powerful figure was all Leon needed to solidify the power and importance of the Technician Specialization in his mind.
And now was the moment of truth.
Leon took a deep breath and thought. ’It’s time to choose’.
Of the 3 Class Specializations, the Cannon Master Class Specialization was undoubtedly the most bombastic and eye-catching.
The abilities and blueprints were just too crazy to ignore, but despite how tempted he was, Leon was adamant on his decision that in this crazy world, the ability to remain versatile and unpredictable was King.
Afterall, no matter how powerful a Cannon Master was, a Pulse Brawler still had higher single-damage potential.
And with the right preparation, Leon was more than confident in his ability to create a mechanic construct to restrain and if required kill a D Rank Ascended of both the Pulse Brawler and the Technician Specialization.
This left the Technician and Warmachine Specializations; Leon’s eyes gleamed in thought.
The Technician Class Specialization nicked a lot of boxes that he was looking out for, it was a solid choice. If Leon wanted to become as rich as possible, this was definitely the go-to Class.
Creating and selling Energy Matrix alone would make him filthy rich.
The only irk he had about the Class Specialization was Overclock Field.
He understood the utility of this ability in a large-scale battle involving a lot of soldiers, allies, and aerial war vessels. But the thing was that Leon was not Ren Nora, he had no intention of starting a rebel organization of his own.
His only motivation was getting as strong as possible to find out the truth behind him being the only human to awaken in this era.
If he wanted to become a Ren Nora v0.2, he would have undoubtedly chosen this Class Specialization but since he did not have such intentions, Leon saw having such an ability as redundant.
This was what pushed him to evaluate the Warmachine Class Specialization again.
The Warmachine Class Specialization nicked all the boxes in forming the type of Mechanist Ascended that he wanted to be.
From the abilities to the blueprints, the Mech, everything interested him, and Warforge especially.
Warforge was the perfect embodiment of Leon’s preferred combat style of infinite adaptation and versatility in battle, and this became the deciding factor that influenced his decision.
Leon took a deep breath and muttered. "I choose the Warmachine Class Specialization".
The moment Leon said the words, still in a trance-like state, he felt like his brain was about to explode as detailed new concepts and knowledge concerning his Class Promotion flooded into his brain.
Leon felt his body and his mind changing, evolving in a fundamental manner even amid the discomfort and before he could react, the world cracked again.
