Chapter 675: World Shattering, Betrayal of Loyalty?

At a CIA branch in Dorado, overseas.

“She actually accepted the duel? Even knowing it might be a trap? Just what I’d expect from my nemesis!” Mira couldn’t hold back a gleeful exclamation after reading Yaeger’s response.

She had expected nothing less—of course the challenge would be accepted.

“Your weakness is far too obvious. And you could’ve abandoned it long ago,” she muttered. Mira chuckled while scrolling through the profiles of Nangong and the others on her tablet.

If Princess had been acting alone, she could have ignored the challenge entirely and steered clear of any unknown dangers. But unfortunately, she had a Guild behind her, one filled with people she cared about deeply.

“She’s still too young,” Mira whispered, setting the tablet aside and leaning back against the sofa.

In truth, she and Yaeger were the same age.

“It’s a shame I can’t be there to witness the Grandmaster duel two days from now,” she said, gazing up at the white ceiling. “What kind of monster could cast a shadow that large over the South Pacific?” she murmured.

She couldn’t leave her post because of the vanishing cruise ship, a global incident that had shaken the world.

In Yanjing, Cathay, Korg Gongshu sat frozen, staring blankly at her computer screen. On the screen was Yaeger’s response to the Small Sword Group’s leader, Lucky Hong.

“What a difference,” she muttered, her voice low with resentment and frustration. She had thought Yaeger was merely the strongest Pinnacle Master. Never did she imagine that Yaeger had already stepped into the Grandmaster Realm.

And now, Yaeger was about to face off against another Grandmaster.

Recalling the once-hyped battle between prodigies, a sense of helplessness settled even deeper in her chest. They were both just eighteen. So why did she feel so utterly inferior?

She had once been proud, making it onto the Prodigy Ranking and believing herself to be the best of her generation. But in the end, she had been nothing more than a naïve fool.

In that moment, Korg’s confidence completely crumbled. It would likely take her a long time to recover.

Aside from Joachim, who remained in a coma, every prodigy who had once gathered in Roc City had been shaken to their core. The elder members of their families, however, chose to remain neutral after learning the truth. Even the Ye family, despite suffering the most, had wisely refrained from making a move. They knew better than to be the first to fall.

At the Ye family estate, Donald sneered. “Idiotic. Completely foolish. Did Old Man Tian hit Lucky too hard in the head back then? He actually dared to challenge the prodigy from the Kun Ruins? He’s begging to be killed. Fine, I’ll sit back and watch just how terrifying this so-called prodigy really is.”

He rubbed his chin with a cruel smirk. He no longer entertained the thought of revenge. Princess was simply too strong, he had no choice but to back down. Spiteful as he was, there was nothing he could do. It was far easier to mock others who didn’t know better.

At that same moment, atop Dragonbane Mountain in Jinxi Province, Dominus let out a dark smirk. “Good. Very good. This is perfect,” he said with grim satisfaction. He had just decided to head to Roc City to challenge Ronald to a duel when news broke that Lucky would be fighting Princess. The timing thrilled him.

“Heh. That little witch managed to reach the Grandmaster Realm so young. Impressive… but she’s going up against Lucky, a seasoned Grandmaster. She won’t survive. And if he dared return to Cathay, his strength must have risen to an entirely new level.”

As a veteran Grandmaster himself, Dominus had known of Lucky for years. The man had once challenged a weakened Ronald and suffered a crushing defeat, becoming the biggest laughingstock in Cathay’s martial arts community.

Now that he had announced his return, his first goal was to kill Princess and make an example of her, then move on to eliminate Ronald. But Dominus had no idea that Lucky’s ego was so inflated, he believed he could dominate all of Cathay by himself.

“If you manage to kill Ronald, I wouldn’t mind forming an alliance with the Small Sword Group,” Dominus said with a smile, lifting his gaze to the sky.

At the Ability Management Department’s apartment in Roc City, Ronald received the news shortly after logging out of the game. His heart remained gripped by shock.

He vividly recalled that when he met Princess at the Rosen Hotel, she had still been a Master. He never imagined that, not long after they parted, she would break into the Grandmaster Realm, and now she was set to fight Lucky, another Grandmaster, in just two days.

She was facing a veteran Grandmaster immediately after becoming one herself. The thought was nothing short of terrifying.

A chilling realization struck him. “I defeated Lucky in the past, after which he fled to America and never returned. If he’s coming back now, his strength must have grown to a whole new level.”

Everyone else was advancing while he was falling behind. The feeling was suffocating.

“My body… sigh.” Letting out a long breath, Ronald chose to push the thoughts aside and resumed playing his game.

At the Small Sword Group’s headquarters in San Francisco, a subordinate hurried over just as Lucky finished training. “Boss, she accepted the challenge.”

“A brat is still a brat. One small provocation and she leapt out like a fool,” Lucky said casually, sipping his Chinese tea with a smirk. To him, this duel was just a warm-up. Killing Princess would take little more than lifting a finger.

“One more day to stabilize my realm… Ronald, get ready. I’m coming for your head.” He set the teacup down and looked out across the main hall, his gaze seemingly cutting across the ocean toward Cathay. His eyes burned with fury.

No matter what happened, his hatred for Ronald would never fade, not even slightly.

The shockwaves of the revelation spread rapidly. Influences both large and small across the world turned their eyes toward the upcoming duel. Public battles between Grandmasters were incredibly rare, which made this event all the more compelling.

For those obsessed with power, how could they pass up a chance to witness a life-or-death clash between two people who had transcended human limits?

In that moment, all eyes in the criminal underworld turned toward Baiding Island. Yaeger remained unaware of the global attention, and even if she knew, she wouldn’t have cared.

After tending to her father, Angelica returned to her room and found Princess lying on her bed. Her heart fluttered with excitement. Her favorite person, resting in the very bed she usually slept in, there was something oddly thrilling about it. If only something more intimate could happen. But she knew that would remain a dream.

“You’re back,” Yaeger said, sitting up with a smile.

“Yes,” Angelica replied, taking a seat beside her. As she inhaled Yaeger’s light, fresh scent, her entire being seemed to relax.

As they chatted, Yaeger suddenly realized that her prison sentence had officially ended.

In real life, aboard the City of Chaos, Yaeger slowly opened her eyes and stretched as she rose from bed.

“Let’s see what the cuties are up to,” she said to herself, still feeling uncertain about the newcomers—Vera 1, 2, and 3.

She stepped out of her room and entered the main hall. A flash of blue light zoomed toward her the moment she arrived. “Master, Master!” it cried out. “Vera 1 and 3 have betrayed us!”
